I’m sure @SirBillybob will provide a much more nuanced answer, but the 1/5 intradermal shot seems to be using the similar guessing game that was used to support the subcutaneous full dose shots. They looked at the immune responses (which are "similar") and they’re betting (based on "weak but ok" science) that that response is "good enough" based on extrapolated data from the immune response and protection seen in older vaccines. For the record, thats a lot of educated guessing and extrapolations for a new and unproven medical therapy. It’s not great, but I applaud them for thinking "outside the box". Of course, we wouldn’t be in this position in the first place if they hadn’t fumbled the ball in the 1st quarter of the game, but here we are. If it works (and that’s a big if) then we can hopefully avoid the painfully obvious shortage that’s coming soon, where only about 1/4th of the at risk population is vaccinated, and we’re completely out of vaccine. At the end of the day, given the shit hole were in, I think it’s the right call.

Those tests are not admissible in court since there is no "chain of custody" maintained in the hospital. Just FYI.

The devil is in the details…. While what you said is factually true, you can withdrawal your "implied consent" at anytime. So in reality the police can’t draw your blood without your consent at the time of the blood draw, or failing that, a court order. The moment you refuse however, you will automatically loose your license to drive in that state, since you have withdrawn your "implied consent" which was part of your agreement to obtain a license. In general, they will only go to the trouble of getting a court order if the case involves a vehicular homicide charge. Otherwise, they’re just happy to take your license and call it a day. If you kill someone while driving drunk, I suggest you refuse to have your blood drawn until they get a court order. It usually takes an hour or so to find and wake up the judge. If you’re lucky your blood alcohol will drop below the legal limit. If they nail you with a DWI vehicular homicide, your not gonna care about wether or not you have a drivers license for several years anyways, so it’s worth the gamble. If it’s a plain old DWI charge, it’s a toss up. If seen people refuse and beat the charge, despite video footage of them obviously plastered. And they got their license back. B) Remote smallpox vaccination seems to be somewhat protective, especially against severe disease, but not so much against mild (and still transmittable) cases. C) A single shot of the new vaccine is somewhere around 85% protective 4 weeks after the shot, and again even more so against severe disease. D) Two shots of the new vaccine (and I’m willing to bet one old smallpox and one shot new vaccine) seems to get you into the 90-95% protective range and prolongs your immunity past the 2 year mark. E) A severe case in a double vaxed patient would be very unusual and most likely point to a problem with their immune system. In summary, if I got the old smallpox vaccine, I would still get the new vaccine ASAP, and I would still get the second shot of the new vaccine 4 weeks later (if I could). Most importantly, keep your dick in your pants, don’t rub up against other people, keep your mouth off of other people, keep their mouths off of you, and don’t shove a cock up your ass until we get the "all clear".
