I visited during a grand European tour in my early 20’s. I thought it was wildly overrated. Perhaps it was a result of years of hearing teacher after teacher extol it’s virtues in high school. Or maybe it was just castle and cathedral fatigue. In reality....it was nice... but far from the epic fantasyland I had come to expect. The gardens did not, in fact, extend into eternity. The Hall of Mirrors....was not, in reality, endless. It’s on my list of places I want to revisit as a mature adult.

I generally like to have a low key catered dinner at home with 10-12 close friends. No presents. No crazy cakes or balloons. Just a civilized dinner. The milestones are another thing....I usually celebrate them with casts of thousands (ok....hundreds). I think people should commemorate birthdays more....fuck it....we survived a fucking plague folks....be thankful and celebrate life!

Any chlamydia and/or gonorrhea that gets on your finger is going to have to come in contact with another “mucous membrane” (e.g. asshole, piss slit, or mouth) in order to infect another person. I don’t know about you..... But my finger isn’t up people’s asses in a “day-to-day”setting. To answer the question, fingering someone without a glove is relatively low risk. Just guessing, but the greatest risk in that senario would be getting herpes on your finger (herpetic whitlow). In theory you could transmit other diseases by fingering multiple holes but that risk would remain the same with or without gloves. Baring an open cut on the finger, I’d say the risk of HIV transmission is near zero. There’s a reason those finger mad lesbians....have the lowest STD rate.

Funny, hand holding in public is a million times more “intimate” to me than all the private fucking and sucking in the world. I think part of it is growing up in a time and place where the very small act of holding another man’s hand in public was a very real and large act of defiance. There’s nothing wrong with that....just be aware that younger men can have a harder time being “present” for longer periods of time.
