One concept I think a lot of masseurs (especially younger ones) don't understand is that they'll probably make more money by offering lower rates because it will attract more new clients and encourage more repeat visits from existing ones. Kind of like how people spend usually more money on cheap stuff that doesn't last very long versus expensive versions that last longer and save more money in the long run. And going over $200 seems moronic to me because it seems like a lot more money psychologically than $160 or $180 even though it's just slightly more (which is basically why retailers always use left digit bias pricing).

Gave him a go and I'd recommend. He can be a bit of a chatty Cathy though.

Lookswise, I'd rate him a 4/10. I asked him what he charges for 1 hour and he said $250. I didn't respond and he came back with $180. I think he's hovering around $150 now which is still way overpriced IMHO.

Only once. He was a travel-only masseur and he didn't show up for our scheduled appointment, so I texted him to ask where he was and he responded two hours later saying he had some fake-sounding pet emergency and had to rush to the vet, and gave me a spiel about how dedicated he is to his clients and almost never misses appointments. We rescheduled and he showed up that time, and he was fine. Two months later he hits me up asking if I want to rebook, and I say sure, why not. He doesn't show up for the scheduled time and I text him to ask where he is and no response. I finally hear from him months later, and he claims he couldn't pay his cell phone bill and it got cut off, and asks if I want to rebook. I feel kind of bad for him and say sure. He doesn't show up again for our appointment and I don't even bother to ask where he is. Fine, don't take my money. He disappeared from all of the masseur sites shortly after that. Hmm I wonder why.

I never use my actual credit card numbers with sites like RM... or any websites really. There are apps like Privacy and Token that can generate a virtual credit/debit card that you can pause or trash if it gets compromised. Also great for sites that try to sneak in hidden fees or renew your membership without your consent.

RentMasseur deletes negative reviews all the time. They make their money from masseurs paying to be on the site, so they're beholden to them.
