I'd be cautious. Saw this profile as well as this gentleman and they both came to LA from a small town in Arkansas at the same time. Similar profile characteristics and most likely part of traveling show. :(

My gut says the RM profile is just there to drive traffic to his IG and OF.

    Looks so manufactured/fake.

If you look at his instagram there is only one other profile that "likes" the photo's and that insta has no other activity.

And on his/"its" intsta there are absolutey no comments at all.

He doesn't have at least any friends or family?  Hahaha.

    Sorry i brought it up

Has anyone had success hiring an SB as a “personal assistant” to help out around the place etc? Is that preferable to just paying him an allowance? A bit new to this so wondering what are the preferred options.

I don't know whether there is a one size fit's all for "preferred options". You will find a very very wide range of folks on that site and will have very different ideas as to what being a "SB" means.

I will comment that I haven't explored or looked for "personal assistant" type situations from there but over the years I have come across quite a few profiles whereby the SB specifically state that they're interested in part-time work such as small house jobs, opportunities to network within specific industries and would take assistant roles, internships, and/or run chores as an assistant etc..

I can't say from that population if they really mean it or had other motives and/or would ultimately do it proficiently and satisfactorily etc..

Point being that some do say that's what they're interested in.

Saying “ new hire” is off colour. That’s not his business to mention. He could have said “ thanks but out of my price range.”

It's not worth a great deal of energy for us to spend on topic and at the risk of potentially belaboring it, I still would be remiss though if I didn't comment that I think you're misunderstanding what the OP said in his text.

To be fair I think initially the provider may have also possibly misunderstood what he meant by "new hire". But further comments clarified that if there was any confusion.

Provider was butt-hurt. Obviously figuratively not literally haha

Both of you were off colour here. He shouldn’t have contacted you again and you shouldn’t have told him that’s too much.

Why do you think the OP was being off color?

He provided an answer in a transparent and honest way in response to being contacted and prompted.

He also didn't disrespect the Provider by saying he thought he wasn't worth $1,000/hr (and therefore based his decision on being too much)

He specifically said he personally wouldn't spend $1,000/hr "on a new hire".

The decision making had to do with the amount of financial risk committed on someone he didn't know.
