The line between friend and friendly can be blurry. I have a number of people I consider friends - meet them for lunch once a month or once every two months. I know the names of their spouses, their children etc, in many cases I have even met them, but I don't consider them close friends. We are just friendly - they are on my christmas card list, but not in my will!

That is true. I have many people that i am on a friendly basis with. But do I consider them all friends - the kind of friends I can count on? Nope...

For me it is the excepion rather than the rule. When you say “neat and smooth” do you refer to the edge where you trimmed or the top of the nail plate? I use a block to smooth the top of the nail plate as well, but no polish etc.

I usually put the key card in an envelope and leave it with the concierge desk (as opposed to the front desk which can get really busy at times and are usually staffed by less experienced staff) under the agreed name. Have not had problems. I usually put my name and mobile number in the "from" box in case any questions are raised. Please note that it is customary to tip the concierge here in the USA.

I agree - no pics, no meet. Same rule applies to apps (grindr, scruff etc). Every rule has an exception, but this approach works for me.
