A new study done in California suggests those who recover from COVID have a strong immune response. The doctors behind the study say the T-cells produced after the infection are strong, robust and protective of reinfection. They don't know for sure how long this immunity might last, but are hopeful for a "long-lasting impression," based on the quality and number of memory T-cell produced by the recovered patients they studied (possibly around the same 2-3 year period of SARS and MERS immunity). These same studies have also looked at the data from the Moderna vaccine and the immune response it produced compared favorably to that of these recovered patients.
 
So good news I'd say on the vaccine and immunity front, though this was a relatively small study (only 20 patients), but still good news overall.

Steroids, which clearly he was using, impact immune response. How awful, I'm glad he's recovering now.

Still, just one case... most people don't develop symptoms, don't even know they have the virus when they catch it. We can't live our lives in fear just because of this one particular case... which is what fear agents in the media seem to want.

Typical Steven post that is verbose, repetitive and misleading. For example, Sweden’s Anders Tegnall did not say that his policy was wrong as Steven implies in his cleverly worded post to give that impression He has admitted errors in execution:

Steven fails to point out why Sweden’s economy is being hard hit like other European countries: the global economy is affecting its exports as well as its manufacturing supply chain. The global economy is affecting tourism. However, the small local businesses like stores, restaurants, bars, etc are not taking the wipe-out hit that other places with a total lock down have seen.
 
Economic, physical and emotional health as well as education are important and that is what Sweden is recognizing. If Tegnall is correct, in the long term if Sweden avoids the second and third waves of the virus due to herd immunity, the way Sweden is handling this will be successful. That assessment will need to wait until history is written looking backwards.

Don't wanna come off as ageist or anything, but I simply don't want to be old and unable to do the things I enjoy unless I end up deciding to have kids eventually when I enter my 40s. Even then, I probably still wouldn't want to live over 65 lol. I panic sometimes just thinking about the fact I'll be turning 50 in less than 14 yrs :/ 40 in less than 4!!!
 
Did any of you older gents suddenly start feeling this way when you entered your mid 30's? I used to not think about age much before, and find myself obsessing about it all the time now. I went from always being the baby in relationships, to now being the daddy, something I still haven't gotten used to yet...
