I got back into fitness at first for health reasons, to lose weight, and then to regain muscle and mobility after the weightloss. My trainer is all about function, which was fine at first, because I was a barely functional mess; but with improved function came just enough cosmetic improvement (triceps! abs! veins!) to pique my vanity and ego. So eventually my trainer and I came to an understanding: 2-3 times a week he trains me like an athlete—not for any particular sport, but just to gain as much strength, agility, and flexibility as I can, which I have grown to appreciate for its own sake, even to crave—and once or twice a week he lets me off the leash so I can train the “beach muscles” on my own. It’s a pretty good partnership.

Hot! He’s definitely going on the “To Do” list.
-
As you say, that’s true of the entire population!

Yeah ... no. That’s a porn star, not a sailor. This is probably my 25th Fleet Week in NYC, and the Navy men we see are pale, doughy, and spotty.
-
I know it’s an enduring gay fantasy, but unless you have an erotic fixation on the navy uniform itself (not that there’s anything wrong with that) I’ve never seen much purely physical appeal in most sailors. Just sayin’ ...

Ha! I’m working on it. After my third time with him I think I’d like to hire him on at least a semi-regular basis, but there would have to be some adjustment on that rate. Very sweet guy, BTW, once you get to know him

Just to turn this topic on its head: as a client, I always appreciate an escort who responds a little more fully, and provides some buildup. Complete sentences twitch my dick. A nice follow up text in the interim between first contact and the meeting makes me chub. An unsolicited dick pic or other teaser gives me an anticipatory raging hardon, and predisposes me to leave a generous tip. Not many guys do this, and I’ve had smoking hot experiences with guys who didn’t engage me in a little chat or banter beforehand, but the ones I go on to hire regularly all have that quality of showmanship.
-
Um, based on his dick pics, that seems unlikely, but somebody with a better idea of the current state of F to M transition procedures should weigh in.

Good to know—thank you!

My trainer has a background in physical rehab, but I was 55 when we started, and it’s taken him (and me) the better part of five years to get it all back. It’s by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done physically, but I continue to make gains in strength, size and flexibility, so I don’t see any reason to stop now!

Totally agree. A long period of inactivity left me with some physical issues, and as I tried to get back into training I had a lot of people—including doctors—tell me I couldn’t possibly regain functionality in one area or another. Like @Rudynate, I needed a trainer to help get me past the mental obstacles to rehabbing those old injuries, let him convince me that I COULD achieve full range of motion in my shoulder, that I COULD deadlift without breaking in half, etc.

Details?
-
Hyperbole, sure. But the larger truth is that if you rely on others to motivate you, if you don’t eventually come to love training for its own sake, you likely won’t stick with it.
-
This is a semantics issue, maybe. You define “motivation” one way. My definition goes more like this: https://www.t-nation.com/training/tip-stop-looking-for-motivation
-
No: my trainer PUSHES me—to do five more reps, to up the intensity on the next set, to put more weight on the bar. He doesn’t motivate me, that is, he doesn’t MAKE me WANT to do those things. I don’t need external stimulus or assistance to be in the gym x times a week, or to work hard when I’m there. He recognizes that I am already pretty intensely self-motivated, and that what I need is guidance—how many more reps is enough to grow, how much faster should I take that next circuit, how much more weight should I add—which includes that push to do more than I think I can. C’mon, man—you’re a gym rat, this has to be familiar to you!

Can’t tell if you were referring to my post or not, but I didn’t mention motivation. For whatever reason, I don’t need to persuade myself, or need others to persuade me — “motivate” me — to workout. But I do need somebody who can help me channel my own inner drive and intensity regarding exercise. I do the work, my trainer shows me how to do it more effectively. Unfortunately I’m not always very smart about things like “resting.”
-
Theoretically, sure. But I prefer to work out with somebody who knows more than I do. I don’t need motivation, or companionship (I got plenty of both, thanks) so much as expertise.

Human beings are complicated, and I believe that escorts and clients can connect in ways that are not purely transactional. BUT — I think it is important to always keep commerce in mind. Yes, he may enjoy sex with you, and he may genuinely like you. But no, the relationship will probably not not survive without a regular infusion of cash.
-
If you can afford it, a trainer is key. Workout by workout, my trainer consistently pushes me just a few percentage points past what I think I can do, and that’s where growth happens, whether “growth” is shape, size, or functionality. Left to myself, I’ll push myself hard, but not always smartly, or in the right direction; so a good trainer will not only challenge you, he’ll also know when to apply the brakes.

I don’t care if he’s “educated” or “educate,” if real, he’s one smokin’ hot motherfucker. Anybody seen him?
-
I set up a session with him for this morning. First time I saw him was kind of meh from an interaction standpoint but Jesus H Christ what a body; second time was smoking hot on all fronts; third time will determine whether he gets added to the list of “regulars.”
-
I’m attending with a very large friend. Any of you other muscle-obsessed guys planning to go?
-
Wow — hope he travels to NYC sometime!
-
Ha! I was just thinking that myself.

Those Cassinelli movies are a stitch. To each muscle fetishist his own, I guess, but if I had an hour or two to play with that amazing mountain of beef, I’d choose a VERY different menu of activities!
