Having been in Vegas in April and again in May... I was looking for an escort who would stand next to my slot machine, agree accompany me up to my room to provide service at half-price, with the opportunity to be paid double if I hit a mega-jackpot. Alas, I found no one agreeable to the proposition.

Its not really sin city... other than gambling, its got very long standing, religiously-conservative attitudes. Perhaps things will change as people are more openly gay... and more accepting. Luxor has a gay pool party every Sunday. Ive recently had follow up customer service, post visit, surveys from both MGM & Caesars properties, and there were questions regarding the chains being open minded, receptive to LGBTQ. Regarding guests and as employers. I.e. they're targeting the market.

hotel eavesdropping - leave it at that?
LaffingBear replied to Smurof's topic in Questions About Hiring
I can relate to the experience, the fantasy, and doing nothing. While Ive never heard two guys, years ago I heard a couple in the adjacent room going at it so loudly, it shook the mirror on the opposite, non-adjacent wall. The rattling mirror woke me. My bed shook. Went from startling, to annoying, to funny, to going on sooo long, I became impressed. I wanted to see the participants. Never did. ======= I would probably take no action other than wishing in the situation described. The one thought that comes to mind, here at home from the safety of a comfy chair and the knowledge its probably never going to happen..... Leave an anonymous note on their door. "Impressed by what I heard last night. I'm on Grindr, will appear as very close by if you check." Set Grindr to indicate interests.... participant, active voyeur, some way to convey "generous", etc - whatever your particular interests/hopes. You'll never know if they bothered to look, looked and rejected idea, etc. But at least its a safe way to "take a shot." And might get very lucky. -

Anyone with any insight as to way LI is such a wasteland?
LaffingBear replied to biggerbilly's topic in The Lounge
What is your definition of non-wasteland? I'm in SF Bay suburbia. 20 miles outside the city, 30-min drive in non-commute times. If gay bar count, and local rentguys, are the standard, suburbia has always been something of a wasteland. And, the bar-count has reduced over the past 25 years. However, the number of gay bars is down even in SF. My hypothesis: its not just about location. Its also about societal changes. Young gay people dont feel the same need and pressure to interact in gay-only venues. A group of gay and straight people will socialize together, and needn't worry about meeting other gays in a mixed venue. i.e., there's less demand for gay bars. San Francisco Magazine dedicated an issue to gays in the Bay Area years ago... it was fascinating. And I'm sure the reports are now a little outdated. It was interesting to read young peoples' comments. They're not interested in hanging out in the Castro, or going on gay cruises. I don't know about rentguy-count... seems about the same in this market compare to 10 and 20 years ago. I would have expected major growth in San Jose/Silicon Valley. I'm guessing its always been tilted towards older clientele. In 10-20 years, will aging gays, who grew up and socialized more openly, hire at the same rate? Don't know... suspect not, but then, fantasy and erotic services seem to endure any cultural shifts. There's a reason for the term "oldest profession." I have some fond memories of the bars I frequented, or the gay cruise group I used for a Caribbean trip. But if progress and acceptance means that gay-only establishments are disappearing, is that wasteland, or just new-land? Caveat: I'm aware NorCal, isn't representative of everywhere. If places are disappearing due to intolerance, conservatism, or hate... that's something else. I know next to nothing about LI; perhaps I shouldnt equate the greater NYC area to Northern CA. Apologies for typical social media reaction. OP with simple question... got a tangential editorial in response,. -
Agree with others' assessments of the show. One thing I'll add - I really appreciated the integration of live Twitter feed. As a general rule, I find live social-media integration into live TV to be pointless or blatantly commercial attempts for producers to capture the interest, hold the attention, of those suffering from Smartphone Addiction Syndrome. I liked the #TonyDreaming pics of all the viewers in the closing number, showing their participation in performance arts.

LOL. Im not a clinician, but here are some things to consider Its possible your metabolism will change over time Its possible your diet and food interests will change over time. Its common that, as we age, there's more interest in fiber. There's generally more interest in healthier food too. (Or less tolerance or desire for unhealthy crap.) Behaviors change. Eating earlier or later. Less or more physical activity. Even hurried meals, or dental issues resulting in less chewing, can have an effect. One common sense suggestion... chew food, particularly veggies, very thoroughly. To consistency of baby food/ mush.

My comment was not intended to convey anything related to "look" of the text. With a non-sms internet texting app... can't use Whatsapp or anything that requires SMS. http://trendingearth.com/gadgets/install-whatsapp-without-number-verification-no-sim-internet-android-iphone/ Further research, and lots of failed attempts.... the workarounds described in this linked article no longer work.
-
Be aware that your choices have some tech consequences. I'm less sophisticated, just use a texting app. BUT, its not SMS. Can't use my text app number for whatsapp, etc. When I read about workarounds... there were many online posts about Google Voice and VOIP systems.... I don't use those, so can't say authoritatively, but those may also have sms-related limitations.

Ads are sorted Platinum-->Gold-->Regular, and then, when distance is the selected criterion, by proximity within each tier. A Platinum member 45 miles away will appear before the regular member 3 miles away. Furthermore... some advertisers enable their GPS, some dont. That's why many appear at the geographic center of city, or assigned "map-pin" location of city. Therefore, it takes some interpretation and specific search-actions. Here are examples of what I see for SF Bay Guys who don't bother to change location setting, but have GPS enabled. I won't see them searching by location, but will see them searching "near me"... which can seem odd, as RM text may say they're in NY or Europe. Many many guys in exactly the same location. "Map Me" places them just south of SF City Hall... that tells me their GPS is NOT enabled, but they've set their ad current location to SF. I have no idea what SF neighborhood they're in. I will use the search feature to jump from page one to page 7 when I want to screen for proximity ... because I've learned that there are about 7 pages of Gold Members... and geographically closest members are often neither platinum nor gold. I'm sure that page-count varies by location. Mostly, as a suburbanite, I just care if they're in Oakland, San Francisco, or San Jose, as each location affects my decision differently. But I check GPS because every once in a while, they're very near to my suburban location.

That makes five. If theyre going to remake a classic depicting modern times, they should show a social media fading-sensation exploit a talentless attention seeker.... call it "What Price, Instagram?"

Late 1990s: I met a really nice Canadian rentguy. Saw him a couple of times, even hung out with him off the clock one visit. I had my wildest rentguy experience with a different guy in Vegas one night. Insane, but really got in my head. Made me believe there was potential for more than a $$-relationship. But it went bizarrely sideways. So I called the Canadian just to talk to someone who could relate, and with whom I could share all elements of the experience. And the Canadian said something to me that I've never forgotten "There's a difference between being friends with someone, and being friendly." 20 years later, that standard remains in place in any rentguy interaction. I hope to be friendly with a hire. Nice to chat a bit before and after, particularly during extended sessions. Treat them in a respectful manner - as a person, not meat. It enhances my enjoyment too. But I have no expectations beyond a good time.

I think I'm too cheap, based on that description. Or, thats not an acceptable value proposition for me. I have no hesitation at $300/hour. I used to sit in SF NobHill Theatre stuffing bill after bill in performers' socks... and sitting in adjacent theater seating, so the privacy is no concern. Arranged privates too. God knows I throw away more than that, at a faster rate, in a casino, with what's probably less satisfaction. But the idea of paying $20 for lapdance that might last 150 to 270 seconds... I dont think thats for me. Too bad... Im going to be in LA once or twice this summer, and Adonis was on my to-do list.
-
I'll add this... Reviews and opinions regarding services are based on very individualized experiences. When I see a nice guy, even if the experience didnt knock my socks off, Im inclined to put a positive attitude on the service-review... or just say nothing. If a guy wasnt nice, I have no hesitancy whatsoever sharing my unpleasant reactions.

The Climate is Changing (Clients)
LaffingBear replied to hypothetically's topic in Questions About Hiring
Two situations where logic and civility are absent: decisions made with the crotch, and online communications. Online or e*communications driven by the little brain are not going to be logical. There's also a whole lot of inference going on. The same behaviors occur with any of the "dating" apps, occurred on craigslist even in the simply platonic category. I would never intenionally engage in most of the behaviors described in the original post. I will contact a guy, ask my screening questions, and that often results in a no-go decision. I'm trying to be direct yet polite. I'd bet many providers felt it was flakey. When choosing a career, or supplemental-income activity, that involves hormone-driven online communications, either accept that its going to be flakey and uncivil, or try Xanax to deal with never-ending frustration. To lament the situation, to seek logical motivation, or hope to change it, is futile. -
Hotels, Security, Initial Meet Location?
LaffingBear replied to LaffingBear's topic in Questions About Hiring
Met someone in Vegas this week. He retains hotel keycards ... for when security consists of flashing a card for the elevator lobby security guard. He's aware it doesnt work on auto card-reader elevator activation. -
I have a webcam at my front door. Live streams on my phone and tablet. Records to a card. The idea was... when the doorbell rings, see who's there. Except... I dont -and wont - go through life clutching my phone. Even if the bell rings while I'm using a device, I have to stop, open the app, start the stream, etc. Maybe just a few seconds, but its easier to just go answer the door. I have not enabled the web-recording.... only the sd card looping.... so Id have a record of something very recent, but little else. All in all, it was sort of a waste. An integrated doorbell ring function would be an enhancement... might even appear on my tv if I use cable provider's. But Id still need to be tethered to a device. Also, I notice more people knock than ring. I get a lot of packages.... hear a knock, and delivery man is gone by the time I answer, package laying there. Maybe they dont want to waste time with human interactions, so knock to avoid activating doorbell-cams.

.... and, disappointedly, the guys at NYNY tonight were not same as last night. Eye of beholder, but they did little for me.
-
We all have our tastes. The Thunder guys in the promos/ads are hot, but not astonishingly so. Based on however I'm inexplicably wired, like Michael Corleone being hit by the thunderbolt Appolonia, the guys at the photo shop in NYNY stunned me.

Really? Wow... great eye candy. My last night here... I may just need to walk tgat route again
