This is only partially true. Hotels can be crazy expensive when there are conventions in town, and during college events like back-to-school and graduations (Boston has 39 colleges/universities, more than any other city), also during leaf peeping season. For example, The Godfrey hotel is $800/night next weekend (peak leaf peeping season), but $218 the weekend of 11/16. If you have flexibility, plan ahead and check the rates over several weeks/weekends you can usually find reasonable rates. Also sometimes there are deals to be had on hotwire and priceline. Onmi Parker House is $155 the weekend of 11/23 and $147 the weekend of 11/30.

Good point about hotels, hotels are either $400+ or $100 - depending on conventions, seasons (leaf peeping), and college events (Boston has 39 colleges/universities). I do think different markets have slightly different rate structures, for example NYC I think has a higher rate structure than Boston (for local talent). If a provider is traveling from city to city, then I agree it does not make sense for them to be changing their rates for every city. Each market has local economics including cost of living, housing, etc.

The Steamworks bathhouse physical space is the best I have seen. There are lots of pretty boys there, many with attitude, still I have usually been successful getting laid there. Lots of open/group play areas, darkroom, sling, glory holes, sauna steam and huge hottub/pool. I don't expect the front desk staff to be cheerful, as long as they do their job. There is street parking, it's in the middle of a city after all. In a safe area (boystown). TBH - if you are overly aged, overweight, unattractive - you will likely not have a good time (sorry to say) and another place might be a better choice for you.

Growing up in a toxic family environment, I could not wait to get out and live on my own.....so off I went at 18. I worked 2 jobs and put myself through college....and lived in some dumpy apartments. There were plenty of struggles, and a lot to learn...but I never looked back or regretted my decision. Living on your own is part of adulting, there are experiences you can only gain by living on your own, being responsible for yourself and not being dependent on anyone else. I'm not in any way judging your position or your culture, just highlighting that there are a unique set of experiences which can only be gained by living on your own and supporting yourself. Now, when I go back home to visit, I will occasionally drive past those dumpy apartments to remind me where I came from. Good luck with your decision....!
