    My Meds

To digress slightly, my doc recently prescribed meloxicam for minor arthritis pain. It's an NSAID like ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin, etc., but is effective for 24 hrs. so I take it once a day and I'm good to go. As a long-acting anti-inflammatory, it kills the cycle of inflammation returning every six hours or whatever that OTC NSAIDs create. Obviously YMMV, people have far more complicated issues with pain than I, but it was a bit of a revelation to me as I was popping ibu, naprox etc. all during the day. I had never heard of it, so mention it if others may find it useful to ask their drs about it.
  2. Experienced this when I started taking an antidepressant. Might have been coincidence, but at the time it seemed cause and effect. Still happens to me while wanking and edging, small ejaculations without the orgasm. It congeals and mucks up the lube. I know, first world problems and all.
  3. I've seen Pasha several times, and find him to be excellent. His massage is specific and detailed in a way a lot of untrained masseurs can't provide. He is reserved and maybe a bit shy, he's certainly not a chatty kathy. I believe he's also straight, so perhaps some posters miss the gay male camaraderie that some providers offer.
  4. In my experience, the protocol for Truvada is that it is only prescribed 3 months at a time. Therefore, you have to see your physician 4x a year for a prescription, at which time they will perform HIV and other STD testing, as well as kidney function testing. Your costs for that will depend on your medical coverage. Other than that, I'm not aware of any costs associated with PrEP.
  5. bnm73 obviously choice re PrEP is yours to make, but allow me 2 points re its affordability. First, the answer to your call to your insurer may not have been accurate at all. Get a prescription from a doctor and price filling it with your insurance. You may be quite pleasantly surprised. It's hard to imagine a medical plan for public employees, in Cali fergodsake, that wouldn't cover PrEP. In my case, Truvada is Tier III on my prescription plan like most other brand named drugs, so in one way it "isn't covered." However, my out of pocket for ANY drug is capped at $75/month. The Gilead copay plan covers that, so my cost is $0. Second important point is the there is NO financial requirement for the Truvada copay waiver plan. You simply have to register with them (no financial disclosure required) and they send you a card. Present at your pharmacy the first time and they'll keep it on file. (As an aside, I learned the hard way that my mail order pharmacy doesn't honor the copay plan, it has to be used at a retail pharmacy.)
  6. Vulgarii, can you link to "Dr." Patricia Newton's credentials and published research? I can find nothing but youtube appearances. She seems to be a crusader for "reparative therapy," a wholly debunked and dangerous weapon of religious zealots.
  7. As a long-time lurker, I can also add that some newbies seem to come here specifically to pursue a vendetta against a provider or client, or to promote his own services under cover of a pseudonym. It's usually fairly obvious and the newbie gets banned, or shut down by actual members, or just gets bored and takes his trolling elsewhere.
  8. As a fan, it's interesting to me how mainstream pissplay has become. (Not that I complain.) Back in the prehistoric days of home video in the 80s-90s you had to send away to sketchy PO-box-only places to buy homegrown piss videos by mail. It seemed a much more edgy fetish. Now, it's not even announced as a feature of video content, there's just a good chance in any rough-and scruffy content somebody is gonna spontaneously take a leak in somebody's mouth/ass/whatever. There is of course a longer, more complicated conversation to be had around why gay porn has become so much more extreme in all kinds of ways, but for now I'd just say ... got no complaints.
  9. Ty's, Rockbar, The Eagle, Gym Bar. The Monster if you want a piano bar. Avoid the Hell's Kitchen scene if you're over 30.
  10. I have to say I'm amazed by this. I believe you, but I guess I live in a bubble of office workers who shower (at least) daily, wear clean clothes and use underarm deodorant. It amazes me that clients show up smelling so bad that a masseur would even notice. (The condition of the buttcrack if any kind of anal touch is involved might be a different matter, and understandably a problem.) Then again, I certainly appreciate a bit of clean manscent from a masseur as he works on me, so maybe I just don't have the same sensibilities as others.
  11. Because of its extended effect, Cialis can be taken daily on a low-dose basis. It's available in 2.5 and 5.0 mg. forms. The standard dose is usually 10 mg. The daily doses overlap to create a sustained effect. My insurance covers 6 pills a month, bizarrely without regard to dosage, so I get the 20 mg. and dissolve in juice to take 4-5 mg./day. As to whether there is any practical reason to do that ... well, I guess I'm just a cockeyed optimist in that regard.
  12. So Chris, what you're saying is that if a prospective client would appreciate erotic touch in his massage, he should make his wishes clear to you first? I think at least some providers would be put off by that approach in that even a convo about erotic touch between client and provider (who after all really don't know each other at this point) could be construed as solicitation. I've always let the masseur take the lead, you seem to be saying you wouldn't do that.
  13. I think the FTM half of the couple long advertised on CL, good to see he's gone a little more "mainstream." Their rates are certainly reasonable, but "All add-ons (nude, sensual, erotic, etc.) are priced a la carte" is not a good approach. Obviously, interacting with FTM guys is not for everybody (any more than any other physical type is, I guess), but sounds like fun to me.
  14. Many people report similar reactions, the only solution is to avoid if you find the effect unpleasant. The legal grey area around poppers means you can never be sure what's in the bottle, and various combinations of chemicals will have different effects. Oh, and never try to inhale from a bottle of poppers in anything other than an upright position.
  15. pig-prod.eu is a pay site. Note some of the content is VERY extreme.
  16. Joseph Kramer founded the Body Electric School in the 80s. This is the current iteration of his online presence https://www.orgasmicyoga.com/ The website, like his many videos, is distinctly "homegrown" in style. It contains offerings for many tastes, only some of which may be of interest. The school itself is still active, although it's passed through several hands and various personnel changes over the years. It offers workshops in mostly big coastal cities. The work that they teach has evolved somewhat, but it's still based on the original blend of AIDS-era reclamation of eros for gay men, New Age pan-spirituality and co-opted Eastern "Taoist" philosophy. Definitely not for everyone, but may be of value to the seeker. http://www.thebodyelectricschool.com/
  17. I've taken a teaspoon of sugar-free Metamucil in water every day for 20+ years. I also eat a lot of other dietary fiber and drink a lot of water. That comes to about $0.16/day, although you could buy the same generic from any of the major retailers for less than that. I'm not much of a bottom, and properly cleaning out takes more effort in any case -- no single product or practice can ensure the lower digestive tract is empty and clean, it takes a multi-pronged approach. Wildly overpriced capsules are, at best, a pricey placebo.
  18. Jake Deckard is definitely still in the business. Splits his time between NYC and LA. http://jakesbodyworks.squarespace.com/#modern-organic-thai

    WTF?

Sounds like a great doc! Gotta say I'm loving electronic communications in this realm. I log onto the patient portal and get test results and doctor comments as soon as they're available. No phone calls, unless the doc considers it necessary. Very efficient and informative. I always hated, "I'll call you if anything's wrong."
  20. A clarification re the Gilead Copay Program, for which PrEP prescriptions are eligible EXCEPT the following as quoted from the program's website: the card is valid only for patients with commercial insurance and is not valid for prescriptions that are eligible to be reimbursed: in whole or part, by medicare, medicaid or a medicare part d plan, tricare, va, dod, puerto rico government health insurance plan ("healthcare reform"), or any other federal or state-funded healthcare benefit program (collectively, "government programs") or by commercial plans or other health or pharmacy benefit programs that reimburse for the entire cost of prescription drugs.
  21. Keep in mind that midtown through the Village area of Manhattan that is home to almost all gay bars in the city isn't THAT big, and is easily accessed by 24-hr. subway and cabs (and Uber, Lyft, etc.). No need to limit yourself to the area immediately around your hotel. The more important question is what kind of bar scene are you looking for? They come is many varieties.

  23. I've also hired Jake a number of times and always found him to be notably professional in his contacts and easy to book. I wonder if this was the first time you had tried to contact him, or had you had an exchange with him some time in the past that he might have experienced as negative? Many pros do keep a "no fly list" of potential or actual clients with whom they no longer wish to engage for whatever reason.
