Bottom line is Big Dale is correct. This is NOT the time to be seeking out massages. As well, wearing masks and washing hands frequently are the two most important things to do when go into public places. The wisest thing is to remain at home and social distance. The greatest spread is currrently caused by mixing of households and private social gatherings. If you need to go to a grocery store, go in buy what is needed go home and stay masked during the shopping, use hand sanitizer after getting in your car and wash your hands again at home. Physician offices are relatively safe so long as you are masked, there is screening occurring by the medical staff, and you again use hand sanitizer after leaving. I am a physician, have worked full time throughout the pandemic, have not become COVID positive and follow these simple rules. Finally, get vaccinated as soon as you are offered the opportunity to do so.

To everyone who has sent positive notes, or even better, made comments on here that are full of common sense and support: THANK YOU.

For everyone who has sent a nastygram, or continues to spread misinformation: We all have individual calculations to do about what we feel is safe, and the choices we make will have repercussions beyond ourselves. I hope your selfish and ignorant choices don't seriously harm your friends and family. I hope things work out for the best for you, and those you love.

I am not impressed by Raoult. Shrewd, yes; genius no. Contrarian, yes; defends against attributions of narcissism, no. Ubiquitous presence in Science Citations Index, yes; contributes meaningfully to a majority of publications that come out of the 800-person institute and include his name based on publication-padding, no. Attention-seeking, yes; critical self-appraisal, no. Research scofflaw, yes; research trustworthy, no.

I get it. We all need touch. We all get that itch. He says he keeps his table super clean. We are both going to wear a mask. The economy needs to keep moving, etc., etc., etc.

And that's all fine and well, except things are getting worse. Period. This isn't speculation, or mind control, or the government trying to take away your rights. This is life or DEATH. There's a new more contagious version of COVID-19 in the UK and now the US. In the Los Angeles area 1 in 5 people tested is showing to be infected. This is an huge increase from before the holidays.

Ambulances are no longer transporting people in cardiac arrest if they cannot revive you on site you get left behind. There's no capacity for people hurt in car accidents or with other health emergencies. https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/05/us/los-angeles-county-california-human-disaster-covid/index.html

So, yes... come here and share stories and tips, make your wish list for when things are more stable, ask about your favorite eye candy, but think twice 365,620 times before you book a massage. (That's the US death toll as of this posting.)

And here's the thing; I know some of you are going to lambast me, and try your straw man arguments, report this post and try to have it taken down, but I really don't care. Somebody has to say this. We need to stop this thing. It starts with each of us acting responsibly.

I don't run, either Armyhands. For those who continue to constantly post "WTF is he referring to now?", Armyhands was in an earlier post explaining his military background, and that he doesn't run. Now, I'm not criticizing your service you provide, just the silly errors. Since you show how unhinged this makes you (just like when I asked you if you were circumcised or not many years ago), I'll take the advice of a former forum member who did not have a good experience with you and stay away. Naturally, that guy wouldn't post a review on your website. You want to look as good as you can.

Kudos for having a separate website and for offering occasional gifts to promote yourself, Armyhands, and sorry for making you angry. If I change my mind and give you a try, I'd even tip an unbelievable 33 and a third percent of your asking rate on your current special. I'll let you do the math.

Looks like he got himself banned - and good riddance. Two way conversations and teachable moments good, but you can't fix that level of blind ignorance.
People have different comfort zones in choosing to get a massage or dining or airplanes based on their circumstance and judgement Whatever the circumstance be safe out there. We're fighting the virus, not each other.

Fomite transmission is felt to be extremely rare as well. The danger in restaurants is NOT from the food but rather from asymptomatic infected individuals eating and talking unmasked and nearby.

Hi Redwine56, I'm genuinely sorry for your loss. I can only imagine having to die in pain and completely alone, and in a sedated state does not really understand why nobody was there for them. These beloved elderly have done so much for us and survived all the hardships in life.....they did not deserve to die this way. We have tested a lot of skilled nursing facilities, and at least 40-50% of the residents always test positive, and it's always somebody from the outside world that has brought the virus in with them. Each time I hear a story like yours, I cry. You and your mother have experienced the absolute worst, and unfortunately there have been at least 200,000 more stories that are pretty much similar to yours. As a healthcare professional I know how devastating this disease can be, but my experience is nothing compared to that of people whose loved ones were taken away due to COVID-19. All I can do is to try to do my job well and educate the public so people know how to keep themselves and those around them safe until we have a better tool to control this infection.
