hougalwizard reacted to Kyle Clinton in 2018: Will this be the year of raising or lowering rates for you?
Like you, I never negotiate a service provider's rates. If the stated rate is above what I want to pay for that particular provider, I'll reply with a "thanks for your reply" and either "I'll consider it and get back to you if I decide to book an appointment" or I will end the communication from there on. On occasion there have been one or two who message me back a few minutes later with a reduced rate offer. But, in a service business I don't—and won't—like to not pay a quoted rate from the start. Getting a "deal" for an object like a piece of furniture, car, etc. is one thing because the object is what it is. But service (like a plumber or gardener or someone who cleans your house) providers might have a tendency to alter the quality of service they normally perform because the client is paying less. I prefer to do what I can to avoid that sort of "cloud" over the hour(s) spent on the job. Not much different when rates were posted on RM in the past. If a posted rate was—in my opinion—too high for what was (pics/reviews/preferences/profile/interview) offered, I'd never even bother to make contact and move on to the next. It's about marketing and service and reputation-building. If you're not working enough, it's on you to alter what you control. Life and business isn't fair. Know your worth as you believe it to be BUT know your worth as the market percieves it to be as well. Sometimes the two are not the same...one is in your head and the other puts a roof over your head and food on your table.

So that's what a Greek temple boy does. :D:D

I just spent a couple of hours with Magnus - it was quite a treat and included one of the best massages I have ever had.
He has gorgeous green eyes and his body matches his pictures exactly. Superb kisser

No, you didn’t just state your opinion, you were judging the OP, you wrote “Duh...You pay his published rate. You sound like a cheapskate to me.”

You could have answered “I would pay his published rate in that situation.” and that would have been both useful and appropriate, not judgemental.
Please also note that it is against the rules of the forum to use insults against other members and cheapstake is definitely in that category.

No I didn't mean that Top clients were not as important. I re-read my comment and I NEVER stated "it's more important to maintain bottom clients" as you accused me. Sorry you had your bad experience. :-( And sorry you translated my comment like that. :-( I design my ad the best I know how to express what I'm into. Now others that mentioned escorts that lie...on the flip side that makes the job of other escorts like myself...who are truthful...makes our job alot harder too. So the original question was what does Vers Top mean. I guess to everyone it is diffent. I was expressing what it means to me. And why I label myself the way I do. The phrase VersTop to me means I am Vers and yes I Top. But everyone is different. So just ask. It takes a couple of keystrokes to ask. Or read their ad. As some of us (like myself) clearly state what we are into. Yes some lie. I feel the majority do not lie though. So don't let a few bad apples sour you.

I advertise as Vers Top cause I find if I put Vers then Bottom clients will assume I'm lying and really just a bttm. Which is false. Most clients that hire are bottoms. So it would be bad for business for me to let them assume that. In general there are just more gay bottoms and that translates into client world. So for me it means I'm a really good Top...so hire me bottoms...but if you are a Top...and want me to bttm...then yes...YES I do go that way as well!!! That being said markets are different. Like I've noticed Vegas has more Top Clients than Los Angeles or Orange County does. So when I go to Vegas I switch it to Vers...and leave a happy happy Guy! lol So yes I get your reaction but understand for us if we put Vers...then bottoms will never hire us and bottoms are most of our client base...well at least for me... So I'd be broke if I put that.

We're acting as if there are these firm rules in place on any of this. Haven't we learned by now that everything is gray area?

As with any communication, just ask the guy what he's into, tell him what you're into and see if you can't rub two sticks together to make fire.

If his version of things are different than yours, no harm-no foul. At least you know beforehand.

One thing that sets MY regular go-to guy apart from the crowd, is that he starts his session by showering WITH me, scrubs me down and sets the mood with some scintillating moves, under the warm water.
Beyond that...as others have noted. Don't over-do the oil or lotion...and be sure to clean it off with washcloth and dry with a towel when you're done. Don't just send them to the shower again ! Do it for him.
If you're offering "erotic" be clear up front, where your lines are drawn. Too many times, I've signed on for an erotic session, that wasn't anymore "erotic" than a massage, I've gotten at a legitimate spa. That makes
the experience disappointing, and my tip disappear.

    Tons of great tips here...

Some masseurs doesn’t know this. As a client your face is down and you have no idea what’s going on inside the room. (Even if you know it’s just the two of you) So try to minimize or if possible have at least one hand always in contact with your client throughout the duration of the massage. It gives a client a sense of security during the massage session.

    Hope this helps...

If your massage is sensual, never say “you can finish yourself”, you’ll have no regulars. Better be strictly therapeutic if you really have the skills.

Do not ask “are you in law enforcement?” in your texts. It makes you look amateurish and implies you’re doing something illegal.

Aside from that, in spite of the widely held (and ridiculous) belief that a cop must tell you he’s a cop, he doesn’t. So there’s no point in asking anyway.

    8. You may be pushing boundaries but, you never know. Especially if you are doing sensual/erotic and HE. Most offer a shower after (even if at client) and will turn client's shower on to have warm or hot water for him.
I had one masseur (sadly, retired) who was extremely!! erotic without HE but at end said LET'S shower and he went to town. Much more satisfaction than plain HE.

I don’t think that would be a problem. Some guys like to play tour guide if you visit their city. As in all things, talk to the provider you are interested in. At most we on the forum can only give you suggestions. The provider you choose can answer all your questions and agree or disagree to your terms or desires.

I prefer weekend engagements and those I’ve spent time with have usually had such a high level of rapport with me that we’ve both been shocked at how quickly the time flew by. I’m pretty chill, so I’ve had no problem if a provider wanted to go to a party one of the nights. I enjoyed a good night’s sleep and they were back early the next morning. The successful weekends and overnights were always preceded by a shorter session, to establish compatibility. When arranging an overnight with an untested provider, the satisfaction level dropped considerably.

hougalwizard got a reaction from + Just Sayin in Asking a Client's Full Name
Abour a year ago I moved from a single family house to a secure high rise condo which requires a guest (other than food delivery ppl) not only to fully identify the resident but also provide a picture ID that is swiped for a permant record. Needless to say, this makes for a complete bilateral lack of anonymity With the recent escalation in rates and an apparent decrease in providers willing to host, I am debating whether it is worth the additional cost of a hotel, especially given the fact that I have an erratic schedule to deal with anyway. I’ve met a local provider at a motel which turned out to be a motel which specialized in “short term” (hourly) guests. Needless to say, it wasn’t the Ritz. What to do?

If I ever ask a client anything, I always caveat it with you don't have to answer if you don't want to and I'm very clear about that. I think asking a full name is definitely not a reasonable question, unless you've been talking to a client for a while and they seem a bit dodgy and difficult to work things out with. But I would much sooner just apologize and ask to schedule for a later date, than ask for a full name or 2 pictures. I honestly wouldn't even ask for 1 picture haha.

Generally I ask what the client is looking for and why they want to book me, although usually clients answer that question close to initial contact, before I can even ask. The other question I like to ask is like, roughly what their age is, meaning just giving me a decade would be fine. But I also always make sure to add that they don't have to answer that question if they don't want to, and I personally have no issues with any ages. I just like to ask because on my end it's sorta nice to have a very rough idea of what to expect in terms of age when meeting a client for the first time.

Full name is way too much. I might ask a first name after I've booked someone, but that's really just to have a name so that in the future I can remember the client and not constantly give off a rude, "who are you? i don't quite remember" vibe. BUT even then I also wouldn't ever expect whatever name I'm given by a client to necessarily be their real name, and I honestly don't care if it's a fake name or not. It's just much better and much more humanizing to try and remember a client by a name rather than something really dumb like "client A" or "client B", if that makes sense.

I should note though that if I get a bad vibe from a client that can't be shaken off, I'm also not afraid of just simply telling someone something like sorry, i'm getting a bad vibe from you and you aren't helping fix that vibe so I'm not willing to book with you at this time. I do try to work with people A LOT though so that has really only happened like twice, and one of those times I was pretty convinced the guy wanted me to show up at a hotel with some drug that I couldn't figure out because I didn't understand the like code-name he was giving me for the drug and I don't do drugs at all lol.

I was sort of wondering the same thing. For those who practice this, is it something I would learn while making an appointment? Or after our time together has begun ?

The reason I ask is that it’s not something I prefer and, while I’ve only encountered it with one gentleman, I’d have liked to have known about it in advance.
