Your mom would have understood. Funerals are for the living, not the dead. While helpful in aiding the grieving process, we all find our own ways to remember and cherish the memories.

I omitted this bit... After the initial surgery and subsequent complications, my mom whom I was her primary long term caregiver passed.  After 12 years on caregiving duty, she didn't die on my watch. I was hoping to make the funeral at least. The day before I was due to be released, one of my surgical drains turned cloudy with a bit of food residue present. My heart dropped. I knew what it meant. I was headed back for emergency surgery to get an ostomy which may or may not end up reversible.
I'll admit the diverting loop ileostomy news was rough to hear.  I knew the stakes though. My digestive system was leaking bacteria into my abdomen and if not fixed, it will kill me. I'd miss my mom's funeral, but that's the breaks. She's dead, I'm still alive. I did the heavy lifting when it counted the most. Just gotta pick up the pieces and get on with it.
Long story short, always seek out the best  specialist if time permits.

I found your discussion of your experience very educational as it is a disease I was mostly unfamiliar with since noone in my immediate circle has suffered from it.
My late mother developed it very late in her terminal illness but at that time it just seemed to be another aggravation in her condition and didn't kill her in the end.
The diagrams and explanations of Unicorn were also very illuminating if not a bit scary (illustrations mostly).
Your attitude throughout is to be commended, not a hint of self pity. Congratulations.

So related to my diverticulitis thread...
I had blood in semen after one procedure.  It helped to know that coloration mattered.  The color was a reddish brown (old blood)  When I contacted the doc about it afterwards, he said as long as it cleared up there was nothing to be concerned about.
The procedure used a balloon expansion to stretch out a surgical reconnection site of my colon, which healed too narrow for stool to be expected to pass through it.  The procedure likely bruised my prostate and hence the blood.
    Worst ass play ever!

Also should be noted Pub wasn't running any dancers on Presidents Day weekend, and Oz almost always looked closed during the days.  They are operating with reduced hours for sure.

Nothing truly private, but you can find a back corner and dancer on the lap for what I could see.  So nothing like truly private booth or anything apologies for not being precise.

Thanks, I want to be clear that once you are talking surgery if you have the chance do your homework and seek out a specialist.  90% no issues.  I just fell into the 10% complication rate that kicked off another surgery then a reversal surgery.
Those 3 surgeries and a little weight set me up for incisional hernias and their repairs.
Definitely consider it major surgery and find a specialist in it.

Stopped into the Corner Pocket on my last trip to NOLA on President's Day Weekend.
Thursday night - admittedly - I was DRUNK, but hey it's New Orleans, and they expect that sort of thing.  The bar had a few customers considering it was after Midnight on a Thursday night, I was pleasantly surprised.  From what I recall, there were the usual local dancers & prolly one out of towner dancer with variety of body styles from twink, semi-trade, etc.  As other noted, don't expect to going there for the Twunk's or Muscles normally seen at Oz or Bourbon Pub.
Saturday night - it was a good sized crowd, good mix of dancers.  A few remembered me and my buddy from our drunken appearance on Thursday night closing the place down.  Same as before something for every body there as long as you're not looking for gym rat.  This time I noticed the bartenders were also amusing as hell.  I love a good strip club bartender with the right mix of sass/raunch.    Value wise - I didn't partake in any private dances.  Stayed at the bar, and acouple dancers came around after they left the stage.  I enjoyed myself and I'd go back as always.
Sadly, I can't report what Mardi Gras weekend down there is like.  I'd hope they'd have some out of town talent come in and supplement their existing staff.

I recently renewed mine.  Only took a few weeks. It's not apples to apples though.
As I started to reply, I remembered I renewed GOES under Nexus.  So I renewed Nexus (Canadian Fast Pass for US Citizens) and that gets me backdoor access to Global Entry and TSA Precheck.  I filled out the online form, paid the fee, and in 2 to 3 weeks, I got confirmed and the card came in the mail about 3 weeks to a month after the process started.   I did NOT need to meet with a CBP officer.
I did do some significant international travel in the previous period. Europe abunch of times, a tour of AsiaPac, acouple Canada crossings, and some Latam trips too.  So I dunno if the frequent international traveled played into my favor for not needing another interview.
I first got Nexus in the early 2010s, out of Chicago for US CBP, Canada interview was out of Detroit.  This was my 2nd renewal I think.

We both get naked. Except we're wearing sailor hats.  We get into a jacuzzi filled with pepto bismol, I clip their toenails, and then they shave my buttocks...
I always wondered how much that would cost.  🤣

Eh, a single name change is more of a yellow flag for me. Constant name changing is an issue. As for age shaving, let's not get too carried away here.
