  1. The surgical complications came from a rare but severe drug side effect. It's a commonly used stepdown non-Opoid painkiller and it's rare to the point that most surgeons miss it being the root cause of surgical recovery complications. The drug Toradol in me caused the surgical connections not to heal and caused additional leaks. First with the plumbing, then in subsequent surgeries with bleeding. It took a surgical team that had the confidence in their work to know something changed after they did their work to find it. Last hernia surgery, we avoided the drug and no complications occurred. Works great for most people, but I guess I'm the special snowflake that causes clotting issues.
  2. Adding Risk Factors - Age (usually strikes after 50), being overweight, western processed food diet/sometimes heard it's more prone to Northern European decent (could be diet), I had it at in my 30s. It's considered rare to strike that age. One of the veteran night nurses, who was one of my cheerleaders/protectors, pointed out that usually she would see it strike guys in their 30s/40s with high stress jobs/family life. I dunno if the data supports that. Stress is usually one of the harder data points to collect. I'm inclined to believe her though. 1) Nurses spend more time with patients than doctors and tend to get to know them better 2) "I have old man problems in my life, only makes sense I get old man diseases" - I told that to a doc - he wasn't amused.
  3. Stopped into the Corner Pocket on my last trip to NOLA on President's Day Weekend. Thursday night - admittedly - I was DRUNK, but hey it's New Orleans, and they expect that sort of thing. The bar had a few customers considering it was after Midnight on a Thursday night, I was pleasantly surprised. From what I recall, there were the usual local dancers & prolly one out of towner dancer with variety of body styles from twink, semi-trade, etc. As other noted, don't expect to going there for the Twunk's or Muscles normally seen at Oz or Bourbon Pub. Saturday night - it was a good sized crowd, good mix of dancers. A few remembered me and my buddy from our drunken appearance on Thursday night closing the place down. Same as before something for every body there as long as you're not looking for gym rat. This time I noticed the bartenders were also amusing as hell. I love a good strip club bartender with the right mix of sass/raunch. Value wise - I didn't partake in any private dances. Stayed at the bar, and acouple dancers came around after they left the stage. I enjoyed myself and I'd go back as always. Sadly, I can't report what Mardi Gras weekend down there is like. I'd hope they'd have some out of town talent come in and supplement their existing staff.
  4. Figured I'd share my medical story - about 10 years ago I had my first case of diverticulitis. Fever, chills, abdominal pain that went away the less I ate. It landed me in the hospital for monitoring since if left untreated, you could go septic quickly. What's diverticulitis? Basically, pockets form within the folds of your colon. Food debris can get stuck in there, and cause inflammation and pain. Enough inflammation and lack of movement - it will cause a tiny hole to form from the bacteria laden inside of your colon into your abdominal cavity. That causes a small infection to form hence the fever/chills. Once the small hole forms, it's considered "complicated" How do they diagnose it? Symptoms, previous history, CT Scan with contrast (oral and often IV). In a normal CT scan, the oral contrast should only light up your GI tract. If the CT scan shows the oral contrast outside of the plumbing, you have a leak and you just won yourself a in-patient admission. How do they treat it in the hospital? Gut-rest. They put you on an IV for fluids and antibiotics. No food or drink for several days. They will slowly reintroduce you to liquids, soft foods, and finally close to regular foods. Once you're tooting, it will eventually lead to pooping. Once you're doing that normally without a fever or pain, you're on your way to low-fiber diet and plenty of advice on what NOT to ever eat again. Seeds, popcorn, strawberries, or anything that has little hard to digest things. Also, a whole lot of conflicting information. How do they fix it? For uncomplicated diverticulitis, you just have some pain but you never end up with a leaky colon. They just have you watch your diet to avoid things that causes flare ups. If you have a flare-up, go gut-rest at home. You will feel miserable so its not hard to avoid food. For complicated diverticulitis cases, you will end up speaking at some point with a surgeon eventually to consider removing the problematic section of piping. I held off on this for about 6 years and 2 hospitalizations before I went that route. I did NOT do enough homework, and opted for a local community hospital and a general surgeon. This was my mistake. I ended up being part of the 5% of complication rate for this surgeon. I can cover the complications in subsequent posts. It kicked off a cascade of surgeries. 😕 Benefit - I haven't had a recurrent case of diverticulitis since the problematic section was removed. Everything is back to normal plumbing wise in less than a year. I'm almost back to normal health wise from the complications. Caution - Don't think just because it's lapro and the community hospital recommends the general surgeon that's the recommended course. THIS IS MAJOR SURGERY. Treat it as such and seek a 2nd opinion preferably at a larger big city hospital with a specialist GI surgeon. If your insurance will cover it, you're better off going to the specialist. Even if it ends up routine with no issues. Exception - If you're really blown a hole open - you may not have a choice on going to surgery or not. If you're leaking into your abdominal cavity from your colon AND you're not responding to the antibotics, they're going to recommend a surgical intervention. In that case, roll the dice with your local hospital, you're probably feeling like crap and will go with the flow just to make the pain go away.
  5. I recently renewed mine. Only took a few weeks. It's not apples to apples though. As I started to reply, I remembered I renewed GOES under Nexus. So I renewed Nexus (Canadian Fast Pass for US Citizens) and that gets me backdoor access to Global Entry and TSA Precheck. I filled out the online form, paid the fee, and in 2 to 3 weeks, I got confirmed and the card came in the mail about 3 weeks to a month after the process started. I did NOT need to meet with a CBP officer. I did do some significant international travel in the previous period. Europe abunch of times, a tour of AsiaPac, acouple Canada crossings, and some Latam trips too. So I dunno if the frequent international traveled played into my favor for not needing another interview. I first got Nexus in the early 2010s, out of Chicago for US CBP, Canada interview was out of Detroit. This was my 2nd renewal I think.
  6. Yes, yes it is. I couldn't resist a little merriment. I wouldn't have too many requests that would be considered unusual, normally.
  7. Any on the private side? I go back and forth with premium member just for the semi private pics and videos. It's abit like lite version of OnlyFans.
  8. That's one of the things I don't understand about name changers... if you have good reviews why change? https://rentmen.eu/JasonEvans/reviews/
  9. I should be more specific/tolerant. A little off with good vibes is a better way to put it. Neurodiversity and all.
  10. Well.... We both get naked. Except we're wearing sailor hats. We get into a jacuzzi filled with pepto bismol, I clip their toenails, and then they shave my buttocks... I always wondered how much that would cost. 🤣
  11. Slightly off-topic, I use aebn.net for streaming services. They're a clearinghouse for a lot of the studios including the subscription sites. You pay for a bank(spank bank) of minutes, and go hunting for whatever suits your mood. They have search features for just about anything you want to slice/dice about. Studio, stars, locations, acts, etc. Likewise and back on topic, you can pay with gift cards directly on their site. Why do I pay for it? Consistent Quality, Ease to search, and no concerns about stumbling upon malware loaded.
  12. Just got back from New Orleans last weekend. Mardi Gras is this Tuesday so prices are about to go low again. I stayed at the JW for about $400/night including taxes on a weekend Thurs-Tues. It's the high end Marriott closest to the quarter so there's cheaper options. But yes, hotel prices are abit crazy anywhere the weather is nicer. I have a post about Key West this spring.
  13. Eh, a single name change is more of a yellow flag for me. Constant name changing is an issue. As for age shaving, let's not get too carried away here. All being said, he was on my list of options down the road. The pics are intriguing, but 600+/hr is only porn star / if I win the lotto territory.
  14. Anyone else get some slightly crazy vibes from the video? Or maybe he's just international? Or internationally crazy?
  15. Looks familiar I think he also went under the name Jason Evans on RM, acct was frozen tho
  16. Ha, karma is a bitch. Got back from New Orleans and past 3 days has been head cold fun! Covid tests came back negative. Forgot how much colds suck after 2 years of semi isolation. Wore a mask on the plane, but New Orleans bars were pretty much a free for all. Vac status checks and masks ("required" meaning you have one, but not needing to wear it in the bar.)
  17. @RadioRob you may want to lock this members only view. If it's publicly viewable, you might have someone attempt to pre-emptively domain squat.
  18. Back years ago, Man's Country (bathhouse no longer exists) had a stripper show on Saturdays. The Shoe would run occasional private parties under different ownership. I didn't know how much I'd miss it when they weren't options anymore. so yeah, me three would be interested
  19. When in doubt, I'll follow what the hospital folks do when in high risk covid heavy environments. When they enter known covid positive patient rooms, they don a n95. That being said, I'm willing to risk exposure with just a surgical mask at this point. I've had it once, triple vax'd. I'd argue to see the study sources, but frankly I'm meh over it all. There's vaccines, there are basic, good, better and best masks, we know how it's transmitted. (Don't lick doorknobs was a joke) I'll go overboard on mask protection if the hospitals start filling up again. Otherwise, be a responsible adult. Play by the rules set forth by local health officials or better.
  20. Any info on this newish profile? No reviews https://rent.men/XXXCONDEXXX
  21. Semi-related.... anyone parking some coin in US Gov I-Bonds? 7% return semi annual isn't a bad option to park the near line emergency funds. Cons Limited to 10k/year Gotta hold for 1 year 1 year - 5 year you have a 3 month interest penalty to cash out.
  22. Geez Louise he's from Ohio, he wouldn't know a hot dish from a Kwik Trip.
  23. From my years of caregiving, keep on finding ways to include him. Depending the nature of his disability, the mobility issues may plateau and him making peace with using a wheeled conveyance will make it easier. Some items to consider Watching fireworks from cars with full sunroof. Easier to navigate than getting in crowds. Tops of parking garages were a great vantage point. Street festivals earlier in the day before the crowds come in - wheeled conveyance makes that easier. Look for an airbnb or hotels with balconies to avoid the crowd, but still allow for easy access to facilities AND get in people watching. I regret never renting/buying an RV for a roadtrip adventure with my mom when she had mobility issues that were still workable. Stay strong. Hope this helps.
  24. fraternityx probably doesn't allow guns on campus 🤣
  25. Preface... I do like my fem twinks. Equal opportunity there. Though did they ask him to put on the football helmet to try to butch him up? b0ssy_bttm's Twitter with screenshot from fratx
