Some years ago while traveling, I contacted a provider for an incall at his studio. Not much info but no red flags either.  I got there, undressed, got on the table, and he started.  He was a large hunky guy, muscular, and someone I felt like I should be attracted to but wasn’t.  At all. Anyway, when I declined again, he stopped massaging went to my pants on the chair and started rifling through my clothes to get my wallet claiming it was because I had the money and just didn’t want to give it to him.  I was outraged. So I got up, and snatched my walled back, and told him the massage was over, and he acted surprised.  I just got enough clothes on to get to the car and out of there.  He didn’t go off on me but it was clear he wasn’t used to being turned down. It was humiliating and degrading and scary.  I hate upsells with such a passion.  And that experience taught me a lesson about being really clear about expectations and boundaries up front.

Amen! I am not hiring a provider for their intellect or social theories. Not that I snap at someone for a little basic idle chit chat, but I look forward to the silence or background music.
I spend a lot of my day thinking and responding to people. It's NOT relaxing. On the contrary, it's work and that why they have to pay me to do it! Hell, if it was FUN, I would spend my day doing it for free!

Then he started talking politics - let’s just say he and I think differently.  I didn’t care..just let him go but after a while of it I said something I thought was tame..like “well I’m not sure that’s 100% true.” He went off….started ranting, claimed I was sympathetic to Nazis, etc.  I ended the massage and he actually acted surprised, saying “are you sure?”  I paid him and he tried to hug me at the door but I turned and left.  Later that night he texted me and apologized….profusely.   Said he was listening to the news and it just built up and he exploded.  I was kind in my response but never saw him again —he left town and recently returned and is advertising.  If I saw him again I doubt he would remember me but I don’t want to go through all that again. I still think about that first time though…it was nice - no sexual stuff other than HE but just a good conversation and connection…or so I thought.

I am looking forward to some way to navigate the rates for masseurs on sites like RMasseur that simply say “ask” in the rate slot on their profiles.  I know it varies but if info could be shared as a “price range” excluding tip that would be helpful.  

Well said! A proper massage is important and needs to be done by someone who recognises that massage is an art. It’s not just rubbing your baby oiled hand up and down his back to kill time while you check your phone for insta  likes and the mirror for your abs.
A masseur knows that sensual massage is a seduction, to be savoured by his client. He knows it’s to  enable him to learn about his client’s body and what turns him on so that when the time comes for his client’s climax he can press all the right buttons to get the desired response. 
Hire a masseur, because the journey is at least as important as the destination. 

 

I never go into it expecting anything more than a massage although more than a massage often happens. 

Because my main goal is a good massage on a table from a trained professional; not from a kid with a gym membership who thinks that and his looks is all he needs to call himself a "masseuse". (Yes masseuse. How many ads have you seen where the guy says he has training but doesn't know what to call himself.)

@PaulM is spot on.  My experience has been that the pricier the massage the less likely one is to actually get a good massage and value for what paid.  It’s everywhere that guys with little skill and an attractive enough body pic are charging $200 for a 60 min massage and giving very little. I get that post-pandemic fees are higher and people are trying to make a living, but the value for the paying customer has to be there too.  The guys that are consistently good don’t have to charge high fees because they have a trusted client base built on a solid reputation, repeat service, and reliability.  Some (in my experience) don’t even advertise anymore. So  high escort range prices, beware. 

I think that's the way it's always looked for me.  Note that it says "featured masseurs."  If you search for your area, the layout should be what you are used to because then it will display a grid of all of the masseurs in your area.
