massagelover got a reaction from + MasssageGuy in Jarred Boston area
Saw him for the first time in over two years and it was NOT a great experience.  He immediately tried to upsell me to Lomi Lomi, which he described by saying "longer strokes and you will just be under a small towel instead of the full sheet."  That was a $60 upsell for an hour; then he said I can do it nude if you want for another $80.  And in the moment I said YES.  So $260 for an hour massage.  Well somehow it was a substantially inferior massage to his strictly therapeutic one, and there was not a bit of sensuality to it.  When toward the end, I asked if it was OK if I jerked myself off, he said, "no, sorry, I don't allow that...unless you want to pay....and how long will it take you?"  I said, "pay you to jerk myself off?"  He said, "$80."  I said, "No I'm good."  He's a straight guy doing his best to soak every gay guy he can for cash, and I stupidly fell for it.  I should have just stuck with the hour long therapeutic for $120 because I think THAT he does quite well.  Just don't get sucked in on the EXTRAS!!!!!

I had three amazing experiences with him in NYC a couple of years back.  Incredible stretching and Thai techniques.  Nude, mutual touch, super sensual.  I think it's definitely about whatever chemistry he is feeling with the person (and I was lucky we had it) and that he doesn't want to feel obligated to deliver or promise anything more than a Thai massage.

Anvar is fantastic.  He's in Braintree - not right in the city - but awesome legit massage skills.  He was only therapeutic (with a slight sensual edge) for a long time, but in the past year has opened up to being much more sensual.  Massage skills are A plus though, and he's a sweet guy.  He even offers pool-side massage!!

terrible massage. on a bed. no skill. completely distant/disinterested. Doesn't give the full hour (or even close). Yes, looks exactly like his pictures, but who cares when the experience is that BAD.

For me it will be when the rate of new infections has gotten low enough, so that even if I were to get it (or transmit it) from any circumstance - whether a massage, or out to dinner, etc - I would not pose a risk of over-burdening the health-care system if I happened to be in the small minority of people who require hospitalization. We're not close to that point yet - if we're lucky, maybe in 6-8 weeks?

I don’t necessarily believe that letting us know who the masseur is = emotional reaction. I think it’s a slippery slope to label it as such because one could argue that every review on here (positive & negative) is an emotional reaction to an experience. I.e. “I loved this masseur so I am going to write a review.” or “I had an awful experience with this person I hired, so I am going to let the community know”. Any negative review could potentially add stress and wreck a career.

This forum is awesome because of the open and honest reviews and discussions. I do think that the word “outing” probably wasn’t the best term to use because it sounds vindictive, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with sharing an experience and letting others know who it is about.

I honestly don’t care what the masseur is going through. Telling a client “I will remember you cancelling” shows that masseur’s true colors and I would never want to have someone I hire speak to me that way. It’s unprofessional and there are definitely other ways he could have handled the situation.

New Yorkers wake up! Hold your lust and yearnings until this virus is over! Do you wanna risk it all - the NY stats is a no-brainer! Massage lovers pls refrain chasing the masseurs and masseurs refrain entertaining - this disease is killing us! Now enough of this conversation and to hell with all those who disagree with me!

It has nothing to do with my lack of compassion for the plight of masseurs, who by the way -- at an average of about $160 an hour in NYC -- do pretty well for themselves generally as compared to the millions of people suddenly out of work who make far far less money. This is about the shared social health responsibility for all of us during this insane crisis. And anyone who isn't doing their part to keep this from getting horribly out of control is just being careless and selfish. Moreover, it's hard to argue with the fact that the physical intimacy and proximity of massage is on the high end of the risk spectrum and far from an essential service.
