Who is marketed as breathtakingly gorgeous and hunky when you absolutely have zero interest in their physical appearance?
For me, it's a lot.
Ryan Gosling, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, George Clooney... none of them are attractive to me.
And yet who's more attractive?  Someone like Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

I'm going to be watching an old movie tonight-Lovers and Other Strangers.  The site I'm using to watch it, Plex, shows pictures of the cast.  There's a legitimate actor named Michael Brandon in the movie. But Plex is showing a picture of the porn star.

Worth going to the movies just to hear the incredible score.  Try to see it in Dolby Atmos or IMAX.
Overall, it was Spielberg at his best.  Many, many moments were thrilling.  No weak links in the cast.  Cinematography was stunning.
Ariana DeBose will get an Oscar nomination (and should win).  Her Anita was sung, acted and danced beautifully.
The minor changes made to the book were helpful for film purposes. 
I really like that they included a good amount of spoken Spanish, but didn't opt to subtitle it.  If you're paying attention, you can deduce what they're saying even if you don't speak the language.
This film warrants many rewatchings.

But gay men aren't always out when they're young, depending on where they live.  It's still 1969 in parts of the world, so it's not universally shared that all gay men can be sexual when they are young.
I would argue that it's probably the age he feels the most confidently beautiful - and that for some gay men can be 70, like in Christopher Plummer's Oscar-winning performance in Beginners, where he played the newly out gay spring chicken who was also in diapers and on Medicare.
Gay men's trajectory of life is very different than straight man's is.  There is a whole other flow that happens and that's because straight men own the world and gay men are living in the straight man's world so they are an oppressed and marginalized class before they are even born.
Gay guys are also challenging the meaning and nature of sexuality in America and since Stonewall have been becoming more assertive, more confident, more strong than ever before - and demanding they get exactly what they want.

This was off-Broadway. 2,500 miles off. A 99-seat production in Hollywood in the late 90’s of a new piece called A Rockette’s Tail. Performed by the playwright, who played herself (a nice Catholic girl from NJ who achieved an early dream to be a Rockette at Radio City) and one other male actor, who played everyone else: her priest, fellow Rockettes, her grandmother, her gay BFF and all the shitty boyfriends and producers who abused her in one fashion or another for the next 30 years. The book, the music, the lyrics, the acting, the production ALL worse than abysmal and beneath the level of the theater which normally did good showcase productions. 
I went with a very funny friend, who got comps from his friend, the show’s director, who had been seated for this preview in the row behind us, ostensibly to take notes…. So, we had to be “good little boys in church” rather than normally be having a bit too much fun watching something this awful. Holding ourselves entirely in check became incredibly painful, with the amount of cheek-biting and kegels it took not to pee our pants.
