  1. I've donated and did so happily. With Go Fund Me there doesn't appear to be way to give your forum name. When sending to Daddy in the past he knew it was me and it of course brought one to the cabana. Just a thought.
  2. BTW, my Rhode Island jab was strictly in jest. My significant other is from RI. Naturally, the rivalry is a source of mutual kidding.
  3. During the years I lived in D.C. I repeatedly heard, "I like New England (or Boston) but the people are not friendly." I was somewhat defensive until I traveled throughout more of the U.S. and realized that folks in other places are indeed friendlier. I do think it's based more on "Yankee reserve" than friendliness. For example, in a Boston restaurant you will never overhear the conversation of nearby party. You will in New Orleans. On the other hand, when you sit down at your table in the French Quarter the adjoining parties will say, "Hello" or, "How are you?" That will never happen in New England even if you make eye contact. I'm not defending the criteria or finding of the survey but have enjoyed the responses the thread generated.
  4. The Snobbiest States – Zippiahttps://www.zippia.com › advice › the-snobbiest-states As a New Englander and as a Bostonian I must take issue with the results of the survey. I don't think Rhode Island is snobby. Nor do they have justification to be so!
  5. Bump...again
  6. I agree. Not amazing but funny & interesting enough to justify watching.
  7. Couldn't wait for a response. Took the plunge. AMAZING!! I think I last had similar experience in my twenties. Maybe

  9. I'm curious too. Please let us know if you do. Will be in Ft. Lauderdale soon. Thanks
  10. Bump. Any updates in the last 2 years?
  11. The fact that so many of us cared about and followed his condition these last few weeks is a testament to the community he built via this site and Daddy's. My condolences to all, especially those of you who were more closely acquainted with him. May I add my name to those who appreciate Cooper's efforts on Guy's behalf and for updating the rest of us on his condition?
  12. Pardon my kvetching...again. I mentioned this before on a thread about newspaper subscriptions. I love the NY Times and pay through the nose for 7 day delivery. The problem is the delivery is unreliable. The papers have contracted out delivery and they pay poorly. My last delivery guy (who we tipped generously and faithfully) told us there were multiple unfilled routes because the pay was so low. It's crazy how much advertising revenue has migrated to Facebook, Google, etc. But if the industry can't get the paper to our homes they won't survive.
  13. I prefer to take my glasses off but I don't have a very strong prescription so I can still see a bit. For parties, bathhouses etc. I wear contact lenses even though I don't care for them. I prefer partners to remove glasses with one exception...Sherman Maus
  14. Despite the concern I expressed and others shared about name and profile changes I went ahead. My confidence grew based on our text exchanges. So happy I took one for the team. No need to nominate me for a humanitarian award because the session was ample reward. He's sexy, smart, good looking and friendly.
  15. A year ago we assumed that the the sudden shutdown was "temporary" and we hoped the warm weather would eradicate the last vestiges of the coronavirus. We earnestly wondered about and discussed foreign travel. Now, as vaccinations roll out, we can justifiably hope that it is a possibility. I'm interested in what folks here think might happen or have heard from at least semi-reliable sources. A friend in the UK tells me that UK and EU citizens with proof of vaccine can travel to Greece this summer. He says it's reasonable to expect that they will soon add US. There is no such mention on the US Embassy website at present. Is it folly to make even preliminary plans? The though of it takes the sting out of New England weather.
  16. Insatiable | Netflix Official Sitehttps://www.netflix.com › title Kinda crazy, wicked bitchy humor, eye candy, soap opera-ish and campy. Just discovered it. I keep looking to see if john Waters is a consultant.

  18. Changed circumstances makes parallel comparisons difficult. My sense from talking to older gay friends (not a lot older, btw!) is that when gays left their hometowns and ended up in certain cities like New York and San Francisco the combination of new venues and shed inhibitions led to wild times. The AIDS epidemic in the 80's & 90's followed by greater acceptance has made it easier for many of us to choose where to live based more on career opportunities than lifestyle acceptance. Then throw social media into the mix.
  19. I agree with Epigonos. It is too easy, even if well intentioned, to say the wrong thing. I would add that a helpful gesture is calling a grieving friend some time after their loss. Friends have told me that they were overwhelmed with funeral details and expressions of sympathy at the time of a family member's death. Then they never hear from anyone afterwards. I try to call friends about two weeks after their loss just to ask, "How are you?"
  20. "Harris Hilton"? Is this the str8 equivalent of a drag name?
  21. I used to see Jose in Wilton Manors/Ft. Lauderdale every visit. (Well-built Mexican with true skills & training) He seems to have disappeared. He had good reviews on Daddy's which I don't see anymore. Maybe it's been more years than I realize. Does anyone remember him?
  22. Are you planning to approach this hobby any differently when it appears the COVID threat is past and we've been vaccinated? For example, like many of us, I went into severe lockdown mode for several months starting last March. Remember how concerned we were about shopping for groceries? Then I loosened up a bit during summer. Now I've decided to just wait until I get vaccinated. Going forward I think I will lean toward "Tried and True" over "Flavor of the Month." New hot guys, with little experience at this, who travel city to city are less appealing to me now. I have a renewed appreciation for those who make a career of this, are known on this forum and who maintain a loyal following. Not living in CA or FL the pool of such hires is smaller but some travel and I can travel a bit too. Has the virus changed, or re-affirmed, your preferences?
  23. One long tourist visa!
  24. While my research consisted of little more than this thread I decided to book a trip to Fort Lauderdale. While Puerto Vallarta is cheaper and warmer in February there's legitimate concern about new restrictions and re-entry requirements. Ideally, I'll have both shots before my mid-February departure.
  25. When you get complimented for helping an elderly gentleman cross the street. And he's your date!
