This thread reminds me of what I guess were the old days. It must have been common practice for many members here. I traveled often for business in the late 80's and 90's. After checking in to my hotel I would take a walk to the gay neighborhood if there was one and find the local gay paper. It had ads for bars and they helped one figure out which was a neighborhood bar, leather, dance, etc. It also let one know what special events were taking place on certain nights of the week. Importantly, the back section contained personal ads followed by "massage ads." I suspect there are very few local rags that have survived. Kudos to South Florida's Hot Spots for surviving.

A bit off topic but about 30 years ago I was out with two friends one night while on a Florida vacation.
