  1. Is anyone watching this series? I know little about the ball culture & was unaware of it as I lived in D.C. & Boston when it was happening in NYC. I am still open to the show if the story & characters remain as appealing as they were during the 1st episode.

    RM Conditions

Thanks for the responses. Expectations have changed since the long forgotten days of aol dial-up!

    RM Conditions

Is anyone else having trouble accessing Rentmen? On a mac I click the box agreeing to terms & conditions the click on enter and it returned to the box for agreeing to terms & conditions? Thanks for any advice anyone can share.
  4. He has a real appeal. He was fantastic in Blast from the Past and the Quiet American. I think he has proven his chops as an actor.
  5. I may have to plead guilty to the stereotype charge but the posting was not a joke. As good as he was, and he was very good, I'd think back to the younger him. Maybe it's because I had a crush! In any event I wondered if others had a similar reaction. Maybe some have with a different actor.
  6. Watching the FX series Trust has caused me to spend a fair amount time reflecting upon Brendan Fraser. He has played his part endearingly and well. On the other hand, I can't stop thinking about how hot he was when younger. Am I wrong to miss the hot guy of George and the Jungle and Gods and Monsters? Should I applaud his acting chops? Many women in show business justifiably complain that as they age their careers suffer. Should we be happy he's proved himself more than the proverbial pretty face or lament his lost youth?
  7. Another factor that can inhibit performance is the effects of PNP. Be wary of cliques of younger guys that travel together. If they party together and/or with clients all night they're worn out the next day.

    A4A usage

I've never used its Pro service but have met lots of guys through the dating profile both home and while traveling. While Scruff and Grndr get more traffic A4A looks great compared to Manhunt. That site of happy memory has tanked.
  9. A tuxedo is an item that can often be found in a consignment shop. Plan ahead and look in high end consignment shops. You can obtain a quality tux that will last for years after investing a few dollars in tailoring. A used rental will pay for itself once used twice. In summer (only summer!) a white dinner jacket can look sharp with the same pants, shirt, studs, and cummerbund from your tuxedo. Also, do formal wear justice and get patent leather shoes. Proudly submitted thoughts from an unabashed traditionalist!
  10. I admit that I was initially drawn to this series by Ricky Martin. Then, I got interested in the story. Now, I can't believe the frequency and length of commercials! Even though I dvr it & fast-forward the commercials, they are excessive. Netflix, streaming, etc. have spoiled us. I don't doubt that fx needs the $ to cover such high quality production costs, but I think I'll wait out the rest of series and see it on a commercial free forum. Anyone agree/disagree?
  11. The Comfort of Strangers (1990) stars Rupert Everett at his sexiest. Erotic not gay themed but a homoerotic sub theme as the couple played by Christopher Walker & Helen Mirren both seem to fancy Rupert. It's also set in Venice which is a plus.
  12. I have been inexplicably enjoying this show since it started. Maybe its because the storyline is so ridiculous, but it is refreshingly unique.
  13. Try a leather fetish store, in person or online if there isn't one near you. They may carry them or have a name of someone who can make you a pair. Then send us a picture!
  14. Thanks for your observation jjkrkwood that the hairpiece is probably to put his character in the period. I can more easily love Rick a bald Ricky Martin than one with a hairpiece. Doesn't he look amazing in that FX promo pic edjames posted? Agree with everyone that P Cruz is NOT nailing the part. She's supposed to be Italian. This isn't an Almadovar character. Still a great guilty pleasure.
  15. I am watching the FX show, American Crime Story about the Versace Murder. Mixed reviews can't keep me from such a story especially if Ricky Martin is in it. He looks hot as hell as ever, however, I can't help but wonder if he's wearing a hair piece. Is he? No matter what, he is still one of my absolute favorites, so gorgeous! I particularly loved him when he had long hair.
  16. Thanks for the post. I saw Funny Gay Males at the Club Cafe in Boston. It was probably in the late 1980's and we thought it was revolutionary! I wasn't aware of his health struggle.
  17. This thread contains much helpful information. Two years ago I stayed at CCBC and completely agree with CoryMonroe's comments. Years ago I stayed at InnExile and it was very cruisy, especially at night. Then I heard it went straight, and now is part of All Worlds. Does anyone have any recent experience? Thanks
  18. I can't think of a new or more interesting way to say so, but I would like to add my thanks to Nate and ArlVa for organizing things this weekend. This newbie almost chickened out and is so glad he did not. Every person at brunch was friendly!
  19. I've enjoyed the responses. The lack of consensus is not surprising. I do appreciate being able to indulge in a gay storyline once in awhile.
  20. I watched Episode 1 of Season 1 last night. Did many watch it? If so, what did you think of it? It was bit slow but I understand early episodes set the story, introduce characters, etc. In the day, I was a big QAF fan.
  21. I never thought I could handle it but after I was abducted by aliens and subjected to anal probes on their spaceship I got used to it.
  22. I met him in a club in Providence, RI. I recognized him from the ad but didn't say so. He was personable enough & attractive but because he seemed flaky I never pursued ad. What can you share texguy?
