I have found gay men are far less supportive of my bisexuality than my straight friends. My straight friends find it exotic and kool and some of my male friends joke they'd give up navigating the emotional minefield of women "if they could just learn to like sucking dick". Meanwhile I have had some of the nastiest commentary come from gay men who've accused me of being "confused", "closeted" and "in denial". So yeah...very often it feels like gays want to convert you because they can't believe you'd actually like both.

Well...I was having unprotected sex with my girlfriend at 14....so I'd have to say, I have NO problem with giving a 14 year old some sex education. I certainly didn't have any and I'm thankful we didn't make any accidental babies. I don't consider a 14 year old, to be a "child" (even though the law in the US defines them as such).

Obviously. Unfortunately elementary schools don't break kids up into groups according to which parents agree on subjects. So best to stick to things like Math, Spelling, and Music where you don't have parents protesting.

I thought the whole point of drag performance was being IN-appropriate? I definitely agree. I wouldn't mix elementary school aged children with a drag performer. I remember being horrified that Mario Cantone used to have a children's TV show.The humor seemed to be him getting away with inappropriate comedy in front of children because they were too young to understand the sexual overtones...and he wasn't even in a dress. Just administering the same sassy humor. As a parent it's my decision on how and when to expose my children to the messiness of humanity.

My wife and I traveled all over Indonesia with the kids in 2019. We bumped into a few gay men in different places. They all seemed to tell the same story ..that you need to be extremely discreet and then people will look the other way. So... maybe much of this Government pokicy could be trying to keep up a public image when they see countries like the US going to the other extreme with so much representation of alternative sexuality in the media. Even I think it's a bit much at times. Thankfully my kids are teenagers so I don't need to filter what they see anymore.
