One more thing. There is discussion in some of the above posts about a hotel called Scheuble. I have stayed there many times. The hotel is very close to Paragonya. I walk fast, It takes me less than three minutes to walk to the Paragonya entrance door from Hotel Scheuble. The neighborhood where Paragonya and Scheuble is located is in the older part of Zurich (called "Old Town") but in the case of Zurich, older does not mean anything negative. The area is safe and there are lots of excellent restaurants in the area. Several years ago there used to be a well known gay bar near Paragonya called Carousel. Often, after Paragonya closed or if Paragonya was not busy, clients and providers went to the bar Carousel. The place was unique and had more handsome hustlers than you could count. Unfortunately, on numerous occasions a gang of straight guys from another country pretended to be hustlers and robbed several of the Carousel patrons that frequented the bar and Paragonya. Business at Paragonya and at Carousel plummeted as a result of the robberies of clients. But, all is safe now. The bar Carousel no longer exists even though you will find reviews about the bar on some search sites. The bad guys are apparently gone or are trained how to behave when visiting Zurich. Please excuse the long history lesson about the Carousel bar. I have fond memories of the place. Have a grand time in Zurich in September. I will be going to Zurich in May. I will write a report about my upcoming experiences which I hope will be great.

A few months ago the fee was 100 Swiss francs (or. for whatever currency was acceptable). Considering the recent inflation and coronavirus issues, I have no idea what the fees would be when you get there in September. If you use Barcelona (Thermas) as a guide, the fee there has not changed to my knowledge for several years. Maybe the same will be for Zurich.'s Paragonya. The world is changing fast. The war could also be a reason for the fees to either increase or decrease. Too many variables to consider.

Most of the guys are not local to Switzerland. Usually, about half of the guys are from South America while others are from different parts of Europe and the rest of the world. With respect to which currency they accept is sometimes confusing. Considering that the sauna is in Switzerland, it is normal to pay in Swiss francs. However, some of the guys prefer Euros and would love British pounds because of their higher value. When I am there, I generally pay in Swiss francs. They also accept U.S. dollars even though there is a big difference between the dollar and the pound. Despite the ever changing value of the currencies, it is simpler to pay in francs. Francs can be obtained from ATM machines. Using a money changer is usually a rip off because of their fees and bad exchange rates offered. I am not sure the guys would accept Australian money, but they might and you could ask. Paragonya is a sort of money "melting pot" when it comes to which currency is used to pay the guys. Sometimes (not often) you will see guys and clients changing money in the bar area where the sitting area is located on the first floor. One thing for sure, you should make it clear when you make a deal with the guy which currency he expects.

How do you define "wealthy businessman"?
-
I did not say or imply that. Please read my post again (portion copied below). "If rentmen is furnished with proof of a fake ad, often the ad will be removed. However, I personally know of several fake ads that are still running despite rentmen's knowledge the ad is fake. Rentmen makes money from advertising. It is not in the financial best interest of rentmen to remove an ad." ___________________________________________ Rentmen does not knowingly accept and post fake ads. It is some providers that furnish fake ads to rentmen. It is rentmen's inconsistency of removing or not removing ads that is baffling. It could be an oversight by rentmen for not removing the ad. The provider could furnish "proof" (bogus) for rentmen in order to keep the ad displayed. I do not know the criteria rentmen uses to retain or remove an ad. It appears that reports to rentmen of fake or stolen photos in an ad usually result in a fake ad being removed, but not always. I do know that the ad removal criteria is inconsistent.
-
And would you be so kind as to tell us how it is enforced for the provider to "present himself accurately"? There are so many fake ads on rentmen that it would be impossible to make an accurate estimate. If rentmen is furnished with proof of a fake ad, often the ad will be removed. However, I personally know of several fake ads that are still running despite rentmen's knowledge the ad is fake. Rentmen makes money from advertising. It is not in the financial best interest of rentmen to remove an ad. Despite the above harsh comments, there are many honest ads on rentmen. The problem is knowing in advance which ads are bogus and which ads are not.

You have done a splendid job. Thank you.

I agree, a provider should have up-to-date photos. However, it is not only out of date photos that are an issue in some cases. Lots of providers use photos of a different person then have the nerve to expect a client to "take the bait" and continue with the encounter. If the provider is aggressive, how does the client "decline at that point" with a possibility of danger if declining? It is not always easy to meet new providers.

Your post is excellent and deserves to be stated as so. I have had similar experiences with providers. Therefore, I can relate to what you wrote. Thanks for such an eloquent and strong statement.

On him? Cheaper than the second hour.

To quote Oscar Wilde - To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance. Seems to fit that provider

My being an optimist, I tried calling the Club Tobi again today. In the past, even a couple of weeks ago, the number just rang and never answered. Today is the first time that a recording comes on when calling that says (in Spanish) that the number is no longer in service. I am really surprised that the place closed. It had to have been a great money maker for the owners of the club and for the many guys who made themselves available to customers for a fee. Who would have thought such a busy and wild place would suddenly cease to exist! How sad.

Language and expressions change over time. A few years ago, I was often called "Dude" instead of by my name. Those who used that term were not close friends. I did not take offense. "Bro" or "Dude" (or a mixture of such names) are merely comfort terms used by those who do not know you well.

Prior to United Airlines selling Covid tests that are used in privacy in a foreign country and are acceptable for return travel to the U.S, from an International trip, I used the services of hotels where a nurse or medical employee came to the hotel and administered a test and furnished a negative Covid confirmation. However, the cost of that private service was around $250.00 and sometimes $300.00. Considering the United Airlines tests cost $25.00 including the Covid virus clearance, I cannot see the point in spending an extra $225.00 or $250.00 for someone to come to my hotel when I can do an equivalent test in privacy via the Whatsapp photo with a medical person watching on a video screen while I do the test. I later receive an e-mail clearance from the medical laboratory that is associated with the United Airlines tests and which are acceptable for return to the U.S., assuming the test is negative. https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucejapsen/2021/05/12/united-airlines-and-abbott-labs-offer-international-passengers-cdc-blessed-covid-19-home-testing/?sh=302e7f365549

is this the "new normal" attitude?
coriolis888 replied to + DrownedBoy's topic in Questions About Hiring
While what you wrote is GENERALLY true, providers learn from each other either through a minor friendship or word-of-mouth. That is why many provider rates are similar and/or within a certain price range. It is when "co-worker" providers talk among themselves (bragging about charging high rates) is often when asking rates increase beyond reasonableness. Not all providers know one another but certainly, many keep abreast "through the grape vine" what the rates are for their services. -

Many providers do not respond to messages from potential clients. Hence, it is not a bad idea to send out "bids" or inquiries to multiple providers in hopes that one will respond. -
A quote worthy of consideration: The most valid and reliable cognitive assessments are anything by Wechsler, Stanford-Binet, or Kaufmann if you’re looking for a broad-spectrum assessment that will look at your cognitive profile, rather than just give you a single number. However, any valid and reliable assessment requires a licensed or certified examiner to administer. Your examiner will determine the best method to assess your cognitive levels, and use that. Online tests? Not a single one. Don’t bother, unless you’re just playing around for fun.

For United Airlines passengers traveling to foreign destinations: United sells a pack of tests (minimum of six tests) for $150.00. A passenger takes the unused tests (or how many the passenger might need) along to the foreign destination. When the passenger plans to return to the U.S. (the day of the flight or the day before) the passenger uses a cellphone with a camera lens turned on to call a toll free number of the laboratory that is affiliated with the tests. While on the video phone call with a laboratory employee, the passenger points the camera at the test and swab so that the laboratory employee can watch the test being administered. After ten or fifteen minutes on the phone together, the laboratory employee looks at the test vial. If the test shows negative, the laboratory sends an e-mail (and enters the negative test result) to the passenger. According to United Airlines, the test is acceptable by CDC to return to the U. S. Here is a link to the test, if anyone is curious. https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucejapsen/2021/05/12/united-airlines-and-abbott-labs-offer-international-passengers-cdc-blessed-covid-19-home-testing/?sh=302e7f365549

There is no way to know how long it will take to renew Global Entry. My renewal took several months but I did not have to have an interview. There also is no way to know whether an in-person interview will be required. There is no pattern for renewals. Even spouses who always travel together internationally will experience one spouse getting quickly renewed while the other spouse must wait months for renewal. If anyone has a lot of time to spend, the link below will take you to a travel forum that discusses this very subject. As you will see from the countless responses, some people have waited more than six months for renewal while some get renewed in just a few days. Happy reading about Global Entry: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trusted-travelers/1426118-global-entry-renewal-120.html

Several years ago I visited Medellin and went to a sauna named Clube Tobi. I heard that the place went out of business. However, I cannot find any confirmation that the facility is really closed. Doing a Google search shows that the last reviews were a couple of years ago but the reviews gave no hint that the place would close. When I last visited there, the place was busy and had no hint that it might not exist for years to come. Many times I telephone the listed phone number for the sauna but it never answers - day or night. Does anyone know the current status of the sauna? Here is the latest I can find about the sauna. https://www.ellgeebe.com/en/destinations/latin-america/colombia/medellin/nightlife/el-club-de-tobi Thanks in advance

Is hiring in Latin America actually cheaper?
coriolis888 replied to MyWhorishWays's topic in The Americas
I must be misreading your response. I think he asked "Getting a hot escort in places like Mexico City, Bogota or Rio costs as much as hiring one in New York or LA?" You answered in the affirmative. I have been to South America more than one hundred times and NEVER have I known of an escort charging as much as escorts charge in NY or LA. For example, in NY or LA a "hot escort" could charge around $400. At today's exchange rate in Brazil, that would equal R$2,041 local currency. In all the times I have been in Brazil (or other South American countries), I have NEVER known or heard of an escort to even attempt to charge that kind of money. -
The photos that you attached I found a bit humorous. That is because in my earlier post I commented that some of the customers do not wear shoes because the floors are very clean. Sure enough, in a couple of the photos you posted, it shows clients sitting in a chair without shoes of any kind. Walking around a sauna shoeless or without at least some foot protection is not for me. That is how relaxed and mellow Paragonya is.
