I see that you are not getting any responses from your request for information about Porto Alegre. I suspect the lack of responses is because most members of this forum do not visit or have not visited Porto Alegre, I wrote "most". I visit Brazil (Rio and Sao Paulo) and parts of Europe often. A few years back, I visited Porto Alegre a few times. If one takes the time and expense to visit Brazil, Rio and Sao Paulo have far more to offer than Porto Alegre. There is not much to do or see during the day in Porto Alegre except for minor cultural items. The city is not particularly interesting compared to Rio and/or Sao Paulo. There are two saunas in Porto Alegre.
