  1. I agree with your points. The participating athletes and their governments would have to be made to understand that the Olympic Games are apolitical and that any politicizing would mean expulsion from the games.
  2. Something needs to be done to halt the practice of holding competing athletes accountable for the policies/actions of their countries' governments. My gripe goes all the way back to President Jimmy Carter's 1980 boycott of the Olympic Games in Moscow. To dash the aspirations of young people competing in allegedly apolitical, inclusive activities to make a common-knowledge political statement just seems wrong to me.
  3. I'm sure Dan Tai gets all the "happiness" he wants any time he wants it. 😍
  4. I got taken about three years ago. The link took me to a phony but legitimate-looking Norton security site for an upgrade of my computer protection services. A little too late I realized what it was, and after freezing and cancelling the credit card I used I escaped with only a $140.00 loss. Since then, I'm link-phobic and grateful for it.

  14. He looks amazing for 80. Maybe some are "dog years?"
  15. I recall being at a performance of Cavallaria Roustacana at NY City Opera when a very elegant looking dowager apparently put herself emotionally into the opera, stood and began shouting at the performers. The disruption terminated peacefully after Olivia Stapp moved to the front of the stage and addressed the disrupter.
  16. Will Smith would have done a greater good had he spoken his displeasure with eloquence and some dignity. His physical attack and ensuing foul-mouthed epithet further tarnished his persona.
  17. I was resistant at first, but now I'm coming around to the dark mode version. I have always had difficulty with change.
