Very sad cascade of circumstances.

I feel much the same way. For me they are like magic shows. The masters on the order of Martha Stewart, Ina Garten, Gale Gand, and Lidia Bastianich mesmerize me every time with the ease and confidence with which they create. Then I virtually thank God I can't do what they do, as I would cheerfully and relentlessly dig my grave with my teeth.

Generally speaking this gentleman would be a tad too lean to catch my eye, but the symmetry of his body and the easy way that it rests on its chassis, I'm thinking he rides like a Buick.

The flu targeted my Christmas weekend with a precision that I have not experienced before. Felt it coming on last Wednesday. Seems to be stable now. Fortunately I have the time to just vegetate for a couple more days.

I'm not so charitable towards the tech. If he has customers for whom he has accepted the responsible for their system(s) maintenance/repair, he should be prepared for the occasional unusual early/late-hour contact.

Yes, I have periods when I am very contented to do nothing but observe the world going by me. I'm thinking it's a generational thing. During my lifetime power and communications outages were/are major inconveniences, but hardly the states of complete helplessness that many young people today believe them to be; which feeds a looming concern of mine about the possibility of an act of terrorism taking down our power grid.

Currently, it's Grey Goose with cranberry juice. It makes everything else palatable.
