I don't understand what it is that makes it necessary for leaf-blowers to be so loud. I've been around large fans with much more force than leaf-blowers that were considerably less noisy. Probably the fuel propelled leaf blowers vs. the electrically powered fans.

I'm thinking the increased law-enforcement focus onto the escort market may have sparked a migration of those seeking intimacy towards the massage market. If that is the case, I can understand masseurs increasing rates to compensate for the additional "work" and the risk associated with it.

It may be misplaced, but I'm having sympathy for the both of them. -
I understand your frustration. An HR person once told me the first indication a person does not like the job is tardiness. Can't say for sure that's the case with the salesman with whom you are dealing, but it's a possibility.
