I don't understand what it is that makes it necessary for leaf-blowers to be so loud. I've been around large fans with much more force than leaf-blowers that were considerably less noisy. Probably the fuel propelled leaf blowers vs. the electrically powered fans.

I live in a retirement/seniors community, and I have seen the very positive attributes of canes and walkers. I hope you find some of the above suggestions for leg cramping relief helpful. I've had the same experience with Walmart. Their packing/shipping seems to be up-to-snuff for non-food items, but their packing/shipping of grocery items needs work.
