It is only his one statement "this is hard for the both of us so don't make it even more complicated" that is off-putting for me. For me, it comes off as suggesting that, if things don't go well, it will definitely be the fault of the client. It would/will be nice to get some positive feedback from those who partake.

When I was engaging regularly, I always preferred a favorite. It was a real plus for me to be able to skip past that awkward introductory period with a stranger. The tragic downside of having a steady favorite is the possibility of deceiving oneself into a one-way, being in-love fantasy.
