Well, therapy is about improving yourself, so it isn’t just “talking about your problems.” That’s what friends are for . Professionals are for something else.
 
One thing to realize is that the process takes time. It took a while to become the person you are, and want to change, when you first walk into a therapist’s office, so it will take a while to undo that stuff and make the changes. The initial appointment is the place to be as specific and as honest as possible about why you are there, what you hope to accomplish and what your fears of being there are.
 
Kman also makes an excellent point: The key is to find a really good therapist. That’s not easy. You’ll know fairly quickly whether or not you can work with the person.

Given the earlier muscle physique in the video, pretty clearly steroid pumped, his addiction predates whatever meth issue brought him down. Steroid addiction is self-destructive, just like any drug abuse. It is very hard to shake both in its own right and when one is constantly praised for the beauty of the body it makes possible. Enablers are legion.

Remarkable movie, powerfully engaging evocation of war's cruelty and insanity with (and despite) almost no background on any character. The scenography and cinematography are incredible. I didn't expect to like it, but was knocked out by the film-making.

Criminalizing drug use is insane, counterproductive, and surely contributed to this tragic death. A criminal record? Burglary yes; drug possession, no.

One of my most-favorite cities in the world. (I was last there in the spring.) Of course, the little earthquake problem can be an issue, not to mention a frequent shortage of breathable air. But Mexico City is pretty much worth whatever hassle there might be.
