It's official, being handsome helps a lot in life!
I'm sure he wouldn't have so many sympathizers if he was ugly!

Those denials led to countless people suffering and dying. It’s easy for a CEO to dictate policies from his desk and fashion them to deny people who are insured clients their access to treatment for life threatening conditions.

My point is there has to be accountability and when the average citizen doesn’t see it happening, then don’t be surprised if someone reacts violently.I’m not advocating vigilantism but when it happens, understand the root causes.

As for his kids, spare me the hand wringing. Their father had been legally separated from their mother since 2018 and they lived in separate homes. Who knows how much time they spent with their father.

But young men spend more time with their peers and less with their families. And a high powered executive works long hours at the office and travels a lot if his company is national in scope.

Yep. This may just be the catalyst for change that we need. People are fed up and if anything it shows just how much.

I will never understand how some people's minds work.  When there is a mass shooting and the body count piles up it is all "thoughts and prayers - the poor man has a mental illness". But when a guy in pain from proven medical needs lashes out and shoots one rich guy whose company admits they routinely withhold coverage to people like him...he's a "monster and a maniac".  Don't get me wrong- I am not approving of the actions either of them took, just looking for a little consistency in how we think about these crimes and responses.

First of all, thank you for sharing this information!
A lot needs to change when it comes to our healthcare system but there's a way to do it by organizing, voting, and putting your money where your mouth is, for instance many Americans have left UnitedHealthcare plans on their own.

Nobody should suffer violence in the name of achieving a political goal. What Mangione did was a cold-blooded murder of another human being and there's no way to justify that under the premises of any cause.
Again...nobody should be shot in the back for any reason!
I don't understand why some folks on my side of the aisle think Luigi was a hero, he wasn't only wrong but let's always remember we're outgunned by far, WE should be the ones always defending rule of law. If the other side choses behaving like Mangione we're all going be doomed!

Thomson was instrumental in using AI to create a system with a 90% error rate. Innocent or guilty is all relative depending on which side of the Isle you belong to. Also another argument for expanding Medicare.

I’m not going to argue that Mangione  was right in killing Brian Thomson. I am also not going to portray Thomson as a sympathetic character in terms of his record at the helm of his company. The fact that his killing provoked a widespread reaction in the American population against health insurers like Thomson is telling.
As for his kids, they are as privileged as Mangione and live off the misfortune of many of their late father’s clients. And like most kids, they couldn’t reasonably expect to live the rest of their lives with their father. That’s not the way Mother Nature works.

It still must be tough contemplating the fact that the next and best quarter of a century of your life is going to be behind bars.

Probably not as tough as it is for Brian Thomson, now rotting in his grave. And probably not as tough as it is for his 2 children, who will now go through the rest of their lives without their father thanks to Mangione.
Luigi Mangione had a privileged life, born into a rich family and with classic good looks. He grew up in a wealthy, leafy Maryland suburb, went to prep schools and an Ivy League university. Rather than be a productive member of society, he chose to stalk and target an innocent man because of some perceived grievance. He shot him multiple times in the back, killing him. It was a cold-blooded murder.
There should be a picture of Mangione in every on-line and paperback dictionary under the definition of "coward".
It is sickening to watch his supporters, and especially his fangirls shout out their love and affection for this lowlife.
Since the death penalty was taken off the table, one can only hope that he will not be released until he is a very old man.

    And we agree!
Sadly, neither the cold-blooded murderer Mangione nor his wild-eyed supporters have a moral compass.

The gun and notebook were the gold nuggets in that mine. The other stuff is far less-important to the case. So conviction looks likely despite the finding of partial, apparently - inadvertent procedural violations by the LEOs. That's probably one reason the judge threw them out, because if he didn't, it would come up in appeal later and easily wreck any guilty verdict. Appeals courts tend to be sticklers for procedural discipline, especially in capital murder cases.
And after Luigi is (hopefully) convicted on state charges, the federal trial is looming. He will never see the light of day again.
Luigi is reported to be fairly bright. He couldn't think of any other lawful way to make his point (whatever that may be)? What a waste. Spend life in prison for murdering a father, husband and son and reflect upon his very poor choices.
Too bad the death penalty was ruled out on the federal charges. If not, Bozo would've gladly volunteered to serve on the firing squad.
