I was born and raised on a farm in Berks County. Got to spend some time in the Poconos almost every summer. Went to college at Bucknell in Union County and did graduate school at Pitt. Now I live in Los Angeles, which confuses everyone. You can take the boy out of PA, but you can't take the PA out of the boy, I guess. Thanks for sharing about the phone call, CJK. That's an awesome story.

I met him once, many years ago, and it's not an experience I was ever tempted to repeat. I guess I feel lucky that I didn't have any of the problems other people are sharing in this thread, but that was the night I learned that even though I teach acting for a living, I am apparently bad at roleplay, which seemed to be very important to him. We were definitely not a good fit.

Hey everybody. So I just found out that Inndulge upgraded my April reservation to one of their suites. This means that the extra-large (and pretty comfortable) couch in the photo will be available if there happens to be anyone who was interested in attending the weekend and didn’t make a reservation for whatever reason. I’ve made this offer the last couple of years I’ve stayed at Inndulge and it’s worked out great. Both the bedroom and the living room have their own doors to the outside and there’s a door separating the two, so my snoring shouldn’t keep anyone up. The only caveats would be the bathroom is on the living room side of the door and I also might need to sneak through to make an early morning cup of coffee in the kitchen. I’m currently scheduled to arrive on Thursday, April 7 and check out Monday, April 11, but I have been toying with the idea of staying an extra night and leaving on Tuesday. I’m still trying to figure out my own transportation to and from Los Angeles, but hopefully that’ll get sorted. If someone’s interested, but has their own wish list (i.e. time in the space with me elsewhere), that’s something we can discuss. Feel free to share this with anyone you know who might be interested.

That's my favorite part of browsing this forum too. The variety in people's tastes is endlessly fascinating to me. My favorites have been the same for many years - Nate (aka YourHunk on RM) from Long Beach, our fellow Forum Member IronMaus, and (not currently escorting, I think, but still very worthy of mentioning) Alex Hawk. I could retire to a tropical island with those three men and probably spend the rest of my days with a smile on my face.

I live in Los Angeles but don't own a car and finding a way to get to and from Palm Springs is always the hardest part to figure out. The last few years before the pandemic, I wound up getting a ride with one of the many drivers who shuttle Coachella-bound music lovers back and forth. Those trips were oddly entertaining, but I was usually the oldest person in the vehicle by at least 20 years and the only one without fresh flowers to wear in my hair. In 2019, I got a ride back at the end of the weekend with a man who makes his living transporting beloved pets and expensive dollhouses around the country for people. It was random luck that he was picking up a show poodle in Palm Springs that needed to be dropped in the Hollywood Hills. Having said all that, I'd love to actually find a ride with anyone from our group making the trip and would be more than happy to contribute financially. I've just got a messed up shoulder that won't let me drive myself.

I was sure there was an older thread about him, but I can't find it. I got to spend a couple of hours with him in August, 2019, and had a great time. Yes, he did change his RM name at some point after I saw him (and I've been trying to remember what the older name was, but I honestly can't), but I just checked and my August 2019 review is still there, so at least you know one of the positive reviews is legit. I haven't had the chance to see him again (Schedules, COVID, you know how it goes...), but I hope to in the near future. Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions.

Yep, that was how it was when I was growing up on a farm in Pennsylvania in the 70's. I'd "unofficially" been driving farm equipment for a few years already, but when I turned 14, I got my farm license.

I love it. I don't think I've hit the point of "too much cilantro." I nibble on it while I'm cooking with it.

When I was in graduate school (which is getting closer to 20 years ago than I sometimes realize), one of my survival jobs was being a member of the bridal & gift registry team for an old-school department store. I actually enjoyed that year round, helping people choose gifts to add to their registries and then helping their friends and family members buy them. We also did all the special orders for fine china & crystal. On Black Friday and other days when the store was much busier than normal, they'd stick us behind a register, which I actually also really enjoyed. (I know, I know. Perversity takes many forms.) My register was always around a corner, behind the luggage department, surrounded by endless armies of Jim Shore figurines, which were a popular trend at the time. One Black Friday they forgot about me and the line at my register never stopped, so I rang people up for 7 hours straight, until someone remembered to check on me. I had no idea that one of the people I helped that day was a regional manager for Williams Sonoma and two days later, she offered me a job running the gift registry/gift wrap/back room operations for one of their stores, at a much higher salary. I accepted and a few of my customers even followed me with their registries. Honestly, I still miss retail, especially at this time of year. I just wish it paid better.

I have a few of those that a former housemate gave me as Christmas presents. The one with the black tail/rainbow fin was made in remembrance of the Pulse Nightclub shooting, with the profits being donated to the funds set up to offer support to the victims' families and the survivors. December Diamonds is a good company, IMHO.

Hey folks, Just FYI, I reached out to Manager Jon at Inndulge to work out the use of my credit from my cancelled 2020 reservation and he did have a room available for me. He did mention the following, though. I told him that many of our group would also be in residence that weekend. It looks like it may be a colorful span of days at many of our favorite lodgings. "The reason we have sold so many rooms this far in advance (all suites and all Deluxe rooms) is that the "Rose Bowl" event at CCBC for earlier this month was cancelled, renamed "Spring Bloom", and rescheduled for the weekend of April 7th. (It is a fisting fetish weekend that has become so popular that all the gay hotels fill-up with the overflow that can not be accomodated at CCBC). Although we will be sold out regardless (high season), that weekend will be fairly quiet around the pool as many guests will be going to the events at CCBC in the afternoon and again in the evening."

Nate is one of the kindest people I have ever met, and I do not say that lightly. He's also one of the sexiest and definitely in my top five hires ever. Slightly amusing story: Some years ago, I was still living in NYC, but was hired to teach a workshop in Big Sur. I flew into LAX and found out that my ride up the coast was delayed until the following day, so the people who hired me put me up in an airport hotel overnight. There used to be a great agency in Southern CA, run by a really nice guy (Dave was his name, I think? Maybe?) So I was bored, gave them a call, and they really tried hard to get me to take a chance on Nate. There was another choice who happened to be a guy I'd met at one point when he was visiting NYC. I went with the man I knew, who was fine, but not really all that exciting. A few years later, when I met Nate at one of the Palm Springs Weekends, I had trouble keeping up my side of the conversation with him, because I was kicking myself so hard for making a very wrong decision years before.

Wow, that's quite a list. Personally, I can only vouch for Nate Grimes, but I enthusiastically recommend him. Very handsome and so much fun!

Your skepticism is completely reasonable. Fraud by gift card is one of the fastest growing/most common scam methods in the world today and everyone should absolutely be extremely careful. But unless the scammer in question was hding under our table by the Canyon Club pool at the April Palm Springs weekend a few years back, I know the conversation I was having was indeed with Daddy.

That's also how he asked me to send my contribution at the start of this year. I hope he got to purchase and enjoy some of the books he wanted before he was too sick to enjoy them.

I was holding out for Harry Hamlin anyway! That movie didn't make me gay, but it definitely made me sure I was!

That restaurant really is quite wonderful. Their afternoon tea is a truly memorable experience if you're into that sort of thing, which I am.

Now that's my idea of romance!

I guess I do that with the people that I've actually met. I tend to see their face in my mind and hear their voice when I read their comments. Maybe I suffer from a lack of imagination.

My mother was 45 and my father was 47 when I was born in 1966. My siblings were 25, 22, and 18. I was, as they say, a surprise. My mother had noticed some changes, so when she visited our family doctor for a checkup, she told him that she'd read up on the change of life and was prepared for what was happening. He examined her and then said, "I'm really not sure that's true." My sister was a senior in college and she was so excited when she heard the news, she went running down the hall of her dorm shouting, "We're having a baby! We're having a baby!" and had to go to the Dean and explain that she was actually talking about a new brother.

It's making me crazy not to be there with all of you this weekend. Just couldn't quite get my second vaccine jab in time. I'm hoping we all gather again next year when I can be there. Make sure and eat all the stuffed dates so Epigonos makes them again next year. (I don't really care either way about the eggs. I'm totally in it for the dates.)

It's breaking my heart not to be there with everybody this weekend. Just couldn't quite get vaccinated in time. Ah well, I really hope we all do this again next year. Somebody eat my share of the stuffed dates! (I don't really care about the eggs. I'm all about the dates.) Hope everybody has a whole lot of fun. -
