I've only done two of the original ten. I was going to add "Had sex backstage during a Broadway show", but that's sort of double-counting #5 for me, so I guess I'll go with: 13. Had sex with the quarterback of my high school football team.

My family tree is a little unconventional, starting with the fact that my grandmothers were a pair of identical twins. (Yep, I've heard all the "marry your cousin" jokes, but it was legal in my home state back then and my parents were actually great together.) I was born and raised in a big old farmhouse with my parents, three siblings, both grandmothers, and my maternal grandfather. My great-grandmother (the mother of both of my grandmothers) lived on another farm close by, with my great-uncle (my grandmothers' half-brother) and great-aunt. She died at the age of 106. I was five then, but I remember her. She loved tomatoes and we would sit on the porch and eat sliced tomatoes together. My siblings are all much older than I am (25, 22, and 18 years). My niece is only three years younger than I am, so technically we did have five generations alive for about two years, although of course she doesn't remember her great-great-grandmother because she was only two when she died.

Oh, my heart! That is such sad news. I had just spoken with him to let him know that I had moved to the Long Beach area and to wish him a happy birthday and he'd insisted we make plans for dinner soon. Epigonos was one of the people I like most out of everyone I've ever met in my 56 years on this planet. He'd grumble at me for saying this and call it nonsense, but I feel like the world is a little less bright without him in it. What a terrible, tremendous loss!

I'd always move heaven and earth to see NateSF if he's in town! He's one of my "practically perfect in every way" gentlemen.

I subscribe to his YouTube channel on which he does tarot readings and the latest video on that is from September 14.

Sorry I'm late to the party.

It's such a frustrating situation for me. I've got a messed up shoulder and driving for more than about 15 minutes at a time isn't possible. The transportation options from Los Angeles to Palm Springs really aren't great and to complicate things even further, I've just moved down to Lakewood, near Long Beach. Last year, I was lucky enough to catch a ride to the weekend with AsianGuyCA and hopped FlixBus for my return trip on Monday, but finding a way to travel that 100 miles is always stressful.

All Things Palms Springs 2023…but mostly lodgings.

I'm really sorry you got treated that way, TeddyBear and I have no explanation for it. I'd feel the same way if I'd had that experience. I do have to say that my experience with Inndulge and the pandemic was completely different. I was in the same place, booked with 50% deposit collected for 2020, and they gave me full credit for that. When it turned out that I couldn't get my second COVID vax shot in time for the 2021 weekend, they actually allowed me to carry the credit over an extra year and I was able to finally use it this past April (2022). Reports like yours always make me nervous, because even though everything worked out well for me in this particular case, what about the next time? Inconsistency is never a good look for a business, even one I like as much as Inndulge. -
Deluxe rooms are much larger than superior rooms. (The website claims 40% larger and I think that's probably pretty accurate, although there are several different configurations.) Deluxe rooms have a full size fridge and superior rooms have a smaller fridge (bigger than a mini-fridge, kind of half-size). I've seen the inside of a bunch of rooms there over the years and I've found the photos and descriptions on the website to be pretty accurate. (The descriptions and specs (and some photos) for each room type are on the reservations page. More photos and video tours are on the Rooms page.

Yep, you can add me to the list of folks who will be staying at Inndulge. I thought about giving somewhere else a try, but Inndulge is a really good fit for me. Comfortable, not too fancy, and friendly guests.

I stayed at Canyon Club the very first year I attended the Palm Springs April Weekend. When I checked in, they made me an offer to upgrade to a nicer room next to the back door to the parking lot. I really liked that room a lot - lots of light, a great little kitchen, and a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower. I didn't realize until later that weekend that not all the rooms were as well-kept as that one. And of course that was years ago and I've been staying at Inndulge ever since. (Far better coffee in the mornings, among other things.) But yeah, the best part of Canyon Club back then was the people. I'll always have fond memories of meeting so many forum members there for the very first time.

I can say that when I saw Kipp and his boyfriend (not the current one) in 2018, Kipp was very welcoming and helped make the experience good for all of us. It was a very well-balanced evening and I think that was largely due to Kipp. He seemed to enjoy taking the lead and I was happy to let him do that.

I will always regret not making time to hire Mike De Marko when he was seeing clients. If he ever hangs out his shingle again, I'll be first in line.

Yes, when I saw him kissing was definitely part of the fun.

Oh, you get extra credit for asking that really smart question. I like you! Pics #1, 8, and 11 were all in his ad four years back. (Basically the beach/boat shots in the black speedo.) I don't remember any of the others back then. I've got no way of knowing when they were taken, of course, but I'm 99% certain none of them were in his listing when I saw him in 2018.
-
So I know this doesn't really qualify as recent, but I'm one of the five star RM reviews from before his hiatus (March 2018). I spent an evening with Kipp and his boyfriend at the time (a different guy than the one he's apparently with now) when they were visiting Los Angeles, and I had a great time. As always, I believe chemistry is key and your mileage may vary. I know a lot can change in four years, but I'd definitely hire him again if the opportunity arose.

I have only glowing praise to offer about Maus. I just realized I've been playing this game for three decades as of this year and he's absolutely one of my three favorite guys of all time. Of course this business always comes down to chemistry and what others look for may not be the same things that I value, but Maus is sexy, kind, intelligent, and fun, which is pretty much my entire wish list.

Mmm, I'm definitely in if we're getting anchovies. I love 'em and nobody ever wants to order those with me either.

I know there may be cases where folks have legit issues with this, but I have to say I really appreciate the option being made available. I've been seriously wanting/needing to change my user name (once and only once, knock on wood) for years. And now it's done and I am thrilled. I'll risk a bit of temporary confusion for the permanent improvement in my particular situation.

Attention! - 19th Annual Palm Springs Weekend, 2022
+ Summerson replied to + Oliver's topic in The Lounge
The weekend really was a very special time and I am so thankful I could be part of it. Thanks to everyone who put in the effort to make it a success. -
I had one G.I. Joe (the one that had fuzzy hair and talked), but my favorites were my Star Trek action figures. I had Captain Kirk, Dr. McCoy, and Scotty. Not sure why I never got Spock.

Hooray! I know you all get really excited about the eggs, but I'm in it for the dates! It's been a long three years since I've had them! -
I enjoy museums too. The Morgan is one of my favorites. I always used to have a membership when I lived in NYC.

Sending a treat to someone in an assisted living facility
+ Summerson replied to + FreshFluff's topic in The Lounge
I did this for my brother-in-law for his birthday and at the December holidays for the last several years of his life. He had to move to an assisted living facility after a series of strokes that left him needing more comprehensive physical care than my older sister could provide at home. It worked out fine. In his case, the facility staff were happy to store whatever treat I sent in the kitchen and serve it to him with his regular meals. He wasn't really the sharing type, but I'm sure he could have asked to share it with others if he'd so desired. Cupcakes were his favorite.
