  1. I moved to NYC in 1990. I was 24 years old and up to that point, my life had been spent in several "Middle of Nowheres." Born & raised on a farm in one middle of nowhere, attended a small, conservative, private university in a slightly different middle of nowhere, spent 2 years teaching 8th grade English on the Navajo reservation in a very different middle of nowhere. So NYC was pretty much the biggest change possible and just what I was looking for. Not long after I got there, a college friend wrangled me a seat at a fundraising dinner she'd helped organize and there I met a guy named Vincenzo (Enzo for short). He was a native New Yorker and was waiting to move into an apartment his family owned that was still occupied, so we both agreed it seemed like a good idea for him to crash on my couch for a while. A few days after he moved in, he told me some guy owed him money and he was going to go meet him at a bar and get it. He said I should come along. We headed uptown to a bar named Rounds that a lot of old-timers like me will probably remember fondly. He left me at the main bar while he went into a back room, looking for the guy he was supposed to meet. Suddenly, it was like an episode of Wild Kingdom and I was the really naive gazelle at the watering hole. All these gorgeous guys were coming up and talking with me, one after the other, and I honestly had no idea what was happening. I still laugh about it, but it all happened so fast that my brain couldn't put the pieces together. And then Enzo was back with his money and we were heading out to dinner and he asked me what I thought about the bar. And I told him I really liked it, but that the experience had been pretty surreal, which he thought was the funniest thing I could have said. Then he told me that he worked as an escort, just like a lot of the other guys at Rounds, and suddenly the world made a lot more sense. I didn't actually hire anyone until about a year later. Enzo had moved into his own place, I'd had my first NYC relationship that didn't end well, and I was making enough to afford a splurge sometimes. I picked up a copy of The Advocate Classifieds and called one of the agencies listed. Can't remember if it was Man To Man, Thoroughbreds, A-List, Wow, Chelsea Guys... (Sigh. I miss agencies.) The person who answered the phone asked me what I was looking for and somehow I managed to get some words out that must have made some sense. And an hour later, I was answering my door. I mostly hired through agencies until there weren't any left. Once in a while, I'd go up to Rounds, until that was gone as well.
  2. We can take up a collection and have Eric picked up and delivered to us. I'm a New Yorker. I know people. And he's fairly trunk-sized.
  3. Yep, I'll be showing up two months from today, too.
  4. I'm one of those positive RM reviews. I spent a couple of highly satisfying hours with Tommy back in August. Of course nobody is going to be a perfect fit for every client, but I have to say, I think he'd make a wide range of people very happy. I certainly enjoyed our time together. If anyone has specific questions, feel free to PM me.
  5. Many years ago, when I was living in NYC, an escort that I'd hired for what I assumed was going to be a simple evening of fun suddenly suggested we role-play Coach and Student-Athlete. I've never really done role-play in the bedroom (even though I happen to teach acting for a living, but that doesn't necessarily translate), but he was so excited about the idea that I gave it a shot for him. I think I was probably terrible at it (especially considering my knowledge of coaches and sports is somewhat limited), but I do always look back at that night with great fondness, because I know he was being completely honest about what he wanted. He got very into it, which actually made it fun for me.
  6. Oh no! Someone disagrees with me on the internet! How shall I survive! But seriously, all I (or any of us) can say is that wasn't my experience at all.
  7. If I was in Vegas, I'd be betting you won't regret that decision.
  8. It is indeed.
  9. I guess at this point I'm mostly echoing names people have already mentioned, but I think these guys absolutely deserve all the recognition when you're looking for someone nice. (Of course I think they're all really hot and talented in a lot of other ways, too.) I know there are so many amazing men out there from whom to choose, but this is my personal list for the ones I've found to be truly special, each one making you feel like you're the most important person in the world to them. In NYC: Eric Hassan (The Dude Next Door) Sam Bridle In Vegas: Alex Hawk Mr Matt Big In Los Angeles, where I live: Sherman Maus Nate Grimes Nate from Long Beach/Your Hunk Adam Russo Jake Nicola (Adam Russo's Partner) AND...as a special 2-city treat, normally based in NYC but coming to LA for a few days August 30-September2, Kipp NYC
  10. I've had the pleasure of spending time with both Nate and Maus, separately and together. Trust me, Nate is every bit as sweet as Maus, and I'm glad I don't have to choose between the two of them, because I honestly don't think I could do it. Nate is absolutely one of the kindest, gentlest people I've ever met and if you enjoyed time with Maus, I'm very confident you'd enjoy Nate as well.
  11. Here's a link to Cody's (maybe former) partner, KIPPNYC on RM. I spent time with the two of them together when they were visiting Los Angeles back in March, 2018. I have only wonderful things to say about each of them, except that I wasn't quite sure how well they fit together as a couple. Each of them was really awesome and I hope they're both doing well solo. I'd hire either of them again in a heartbeat if one or both ever finds their way back to LA.
  12. Many of my favorite selections from the sexual repertoire don't align with yours, but then I've always been the unconventionally creative type. If my preferences are common among contemporary twelve year olds, I think we should all be very excited about the future. (Or slightly terrified. As each of us may be inclined.)
  13. So many Earth signs....SO MANY - LOL!
  14. Oh, not being a Taurus is MORE than OK, isn't it? Pretty sure that's how the saying goes. (But then I'm a Pisces with a problematic Taurus older brother, so I may be biased.)
  15. Yes, there are actually a few public options if necessary.
  16. So if anyone is driving from LA to Palm Springs, has extra space in their vehicle and would be interested in someone else paying for the gas, etc., please send me a PM. I'm hoping to find a way out there on Thursday and back Monday, staying at Inndulge. I'm one of those semi-rare LA types who doesn't actually own a car. Last year, I caught a ride out with some lovely young ladies heading to Coachella. SO much patchouli! SO much Wind Song perfume. (Who knew they still even made that?) It was a four hour flashback to my 60's & 70's childhood (with the addition of Halsey).
  17. Happy Birthday, Kind Sir! Best wishes for a spectacular day!

Add me to the list of @nategrimes fans! I can't say enough good things about him.
  19. I'm back for a second year. Staying at Inndulge this time around, arriving on Thursday and staying until at least Monday (possibly a day or two longer if I can make it happen). I'm so looking forward to reconnecting with folks.
  20. Without a doubt, I've got to be one of the most shy, most socially anxious members of these forums. I lurked for years before I even made an actual account and if I post three times a year, that's a lot. But last spring, I was so desperately in need of time away from the big ball of stress that is my life, so I took a chance and booked a room at the Canyon Club. I had a better time than I could ever have predicted. I relaxed, I laughed, and I even talked with people with whom I'm actually looking forward to reconnecting this year. Everyone there made having fun effortless and I was (and am) so grateful to them for making me feel so welcome. If you can make this trip happen for yourself, I truly do not believe you will regret it.
  21. I grew up on a dairy farm, so I don't remember a time when I didn't know how to milk a cow.
  22. Back in the late 80's, I spent a couple of years working at an Oz Festival that was part of the Summer Theatre & Children's Theatre of Massachusetts. Every year the Festival had a guest of honor to serve as the grand marshal in the parade and my first year, they got the Munchkin Coroner from the MGM film, Meinhardt Raabe. The entire company got to spend a week listening to his stories and he was absolutely delightful. After the Wizard of Oz filming was complete, he spent over 30 years touring the whole country in the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile, with Meinhardt as "Oscar, the world's smallest chef."
  23. The original Nomad in NYC and the Crazy Bear in Beaconsfield, England.

I checked out this morning. I arrived last Thursday. Of course different people have different taste in accommodations, but I liked it a lot. My room was right next to the back entrance from the parking lot and I thought it was very nice. I'm sorry you're not having the same experience.
  25. @IronMaus has told me he'll be with us and staying at the Canyon Club.
