ApAD got a reaction from Poppie in FT Lauderdale Clubs - Jan 2026
I’m 67 and have been around these places long enough to remember when things felt a little less rushed and a little more personal. I spent a few evenings recently visiting some of the clubs around Fort Lauderdale / South Florida, and figured I’d share my impressions for anyone my age (or anyone who still enjoys conversation as much as eye candy).
    Johnson’s
This one felt familiar in a good way, smaller, quieter, and not as frantic as some of the othrs. The cover was low and the prices were ok. Drinks were reasonably priced, and I didn’t feel pressured to spend more than I wanted. The lineup was limited, and I won’t pretend every guy was my type, but the atmosphere was relaxed enough to sit, watch, and chat without feeling invisible, ignored/ or rushed.
    Le Boy
A livelier crowd and definitely younger overall. Some of the guys were friendly and genuinely engaging, others less so, the usual. I found it helped to take my time, talk first, and see who was actually interested in mking a connection... rather than just, selling a package. When that happened, the experience was enjoyable. When it didn’t, it felt very transactional. Not my favorite environment, but I can see the appeal for some.
    Boardwalk
This place really depends on the night lol. Earlier in the week felt calmer and more approachable, while weekends were louder, busier, and frankly more exhausting for me (old age?). There’s a wide range of dancers, which is nice, but also a wide range of attitudes. I had better luck going in without expectations and leaving when it stopped being fun.

Oh and I can read closed captioning much more easily now.

But they had to put a (long distance) monofocal lens in because there's something abnormal about my retina. The doctor said a I needed as much light as possible hitting my retina, and a multifocal lens wouldn't work as well. So now I can't read up close with my right eye. I'm supposed to try to get some non prescription readers. But I'll  need to take out the lens on the left side until I have that eye done. Or get a monocle until then.

Who knew I'd need a tuxedo too?

Thank y'all for all the good wishes. I think it's gone well. In fact---

My (almost) brother-in-law described it like going from Kansas to Oz, but I haven't noticed that yet. I'll just be happy to be able to see the road and street signs at night-not too mention closed captioning on the TV. Right now my eye is watery. And I can't rub it. So I don't actually  know what the vision there is actually like.

My brother and mother took me to the surgery place. We were probably there an hour or less. We went to lunch afterward. But on the way back to my Mom's I started getting a sick headache. And I went to sleep for about 4 hours. I seem ok now.

1st follow up is tomorrow (Wednesday). Wish me luck.

It's the most commonly performed surgical procedure in the country. I know that's of little comfort if you're about to have it for the first time, but there's really very little to worry about. I've had it done on both eyes -about two years apart- and the only issue I had was a little scratchiness from the second surgery which went away when I saw the surgeon the next morning for a 24-hour follow-up. After that, no issues at all.
Except for ... the eye drops! I hate doing eye drops. Before the procedure, they put about seven to ten sets of three to five drops of various things in the eye to be worked on - thought they'd never stop! After the surgery, you have to use drops in the affected eye for an extended time (maybe 30 days? - don't really remember.) But the doses are tapered during the treatment period so you use fewer and fewer drops as the course goes on. A minor inconvenience.
Oh, you might experience "specks" floating in the eye's aqueous fluid; looks like gnats zipping around you. I went to lunch at a white tablecloth place a few days after one of my surgeries and kept trying to swat things away from my food. Went away after a week or so.
Best of luck to you. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Wishing you a smooth and successful cataract surgery today! You will be seeing the world in high definition very soon, just don’t be too shocked when you realize how dusty everything really is!

On my right eye. I'm minorly apprehensive. But I'm sure everything will go well.

I haven't asked my doctor yet.-I will- how long I'll have to refrain from sex. I hope this doesn't end up 'screwing' (see what I did there 😝)  with my busy social calendar. (I'm obviously joking. I think the last time I had 'relations' was two weeks ago.)
    Please send healing vibes.

I’ve been to him a couple of times. Both experiences nearly identical. It’s a long session, using a lot of different massage techniques. His hands were on my cock quite a bit. It’s like intermittent edging. He does not get naked, wearing underwear only. No MT. If you’re in it mostly for the sex it’s probably not worth it. If your primary interest is massage, it’s a nice treat every now and then.

In his text to me he indicated the message would be sensual with release at the end. Don’t know if he takes his clothes off or not. Maybe PaulM can provide some more deets 😎

@AtlantaDude,  nudity is NOT allowed at Johnson's.
Unless you have x-ray vision and can see thru a dancer's briefs, there is no way to know whether or not he is cut.

I’m currently in Lauderdale and heading back up north tomorrow. I visited Johnson’s four nights in a row:
Thursday Jan 1…pretty quiet. Not many dancers. I guess everyone was partied out from NYE.
Friday…absolutely packed.  I’ve honestly never seen it so full.  I generally avoid weekends at these clubs and I was reminded why with the club so full. Apparently, a gay couple got into a fistfight shortly after I left. I was told one of the guys was flirting with a dancer and the other guy didn’t like it.   Oh and the new owners turned up for a while. Someone pointed them out to me but I didn’t speak with them.
Saturday…More comfortable than Friday.  Busy but not packed.

Sunday…just having cocktails at the front bar before I call it an early night.

I agree with the sentiment expressed above. No outstanding dancers at the club currently. I hung-out and chatted with multiple dancers (practicing my spanish which I enjoy) and had a good time doing that. Lucas (the Argentine guy that looks like Brando) was not present any of the days I was there.
I didn’t get to any of the other strip clubs during my visit.

Visited the clubs in Fort Lauderdale over the past week. Just some updates on experiences.
Johnsons - $5 cover cash only.  $10 for Private room wristband cash only.  $25 per song for private dances.  Drinks were reasonable at $6-$7 cocktails could be charged. 10 guys ish.  Went twice wasn't impressed with the guys.
Le Boy - $15 Private room wristband,  $20 per song. Mixture of twinks and college guys.  Hit or miss.  Had a one lap dance which the dancer was fun and gave more songs then charged. Other dancers wanted $400 all inclusive
Boardwalk - all over the place.  Monday/Tuesday night - no cover.  $100 all inclusive private room,.  Friday/Saturday - $10 cover, $35 private room.  Dancer crazy fees $200-$800
The rates here have become really high and the guys are pretty arrogant for how they appear.  They had a lot of missed opportunities over greed.  Puerto Vallarta, Thailand, Barcelona, Tijuana all such a better value and experience.  Each visit to SoFL Im getting more and more turned off with the costs of everything going up and quality going down.  Paid parking everywhere till 3am (including hunters/Georgie's Alibi lot).
