I bought a shirt I really liked, 4XL which is usual for me, and when it arrives it's the dreaded "runs small". I can button it, but just barely. I called the place and that's their largest size for that particular shirt :-(

I haven't noticed it lately, but in the past it was common for theaters to NOT allow passes/promotions for first-run or special movies. The listings said "no passes will be accepted for this engagement". I'm not sure if they're still doing it as I haven't looked in the newspaper for movie listings in years; I check online. Anyway, this could be something like that.

As in so many situations, communication can fix this. If you realize you're going to be there early, text when you're 10 minutes away and say "I'm early, is that okay?" Unless you get a "sure, come on over" answer, go find a starbucks for a bit.

There's a graphic novel called "My Friend Dahmer", true story about a guy who grew up with Jeffrey Dahmer. He wasn't close friends with him, but hung out with him from time to time. It's been made into a movie that's showing now.

A few years ago, my younger sister and her husband were flying in Christmas Day, I was picking them up at the airport & taking them straight to my older sister's house for presents and Christmas dinner. I think you may find a lot of us are in that boat. Growing up knowing I was gay, I didn't try to date girls. I did get asked to Sadie Hawkins :-) A lot of us who come out late in life (36 for me) don't know how to date, flirt, whatever.

no arguments, and I've been to some great parties like that, but I've also had parties with a set guest list - mostly dinner parties, with table settings, portions, etc. Early on, when a friend was visiting from out of town and I hosted a dinner at my house, lots of our mutual friends said they couldn't make it at the time, but would come later. I didn't have the experience to say "That's great, you're welcome to show up later for drinks and hanging out, but dinner will be served at 7:00", and I spent all night running around re-doing dinners.

I got the impression there were three hosts, and the original poster was one of hosts.

That's why I finally stopped watching "Shameless" (the American version). Even Fiona, the most sympathetic of all, got hard to watch.
