  1. Shhh. Gallahad heard.
  2. no arguments, and I've been to some great parties like that, but I've also had parties with a set guest list - mostly dinner parties, with table settings, portions, etc. Early on, when a friend was visiting from out of town and I hosted a dinner at my house, lots of our mutual friends said they couldn't make it at the time, but would come later. I didn't have the experience to say "That's great, you're welcome to show up later for drinks and hanging out, but dinner will be served at 7:00", and I spent all night running around re-doing dinners.
  3. I got the impression there were three hosts, and the original poster was one of hosts.
  4. That's why I finally stopped watching "Shameless" (the American version). Even Fiona, the most sympathetic of all, got hard to watch.
  5. William Seed is fairly new to porn, I've enjoyed what he's done so far. I'd love to find out if he escorts too.
  6. I've just started too, I'm three episodes in.
  7. Fully politically incorrect...in high school in the mid 70's, one of my good friends (not an Asian) was commonly known as "Chink", because he had squinty eyes. To this day, I don't think my parents know his real name.
  8. Miss Manners says it's a no-no, but if it happens to you as host, make the most of it. This is from a letter from two people who (unwittingly) were the uninvited guests - the hostess opened the door and said, with a frozen smile, "Oh, look! Uninvited guests!" Rudeness on both sides, although if I'm remembering the letter right, the uninvited guests were assured (by the guest who invited them) that it was okay.
  9. Sticking with my dear departed mother's baste of white wine & butter. I cooked a turkey basted in bourbon for a company potluck one year, I worked from home in the morning to cook it and from the fumes...well, the afternoon in the office was not my most productive.
  10. I'm continually surprised by how many actors on "The Walking Dead" (including Rick/Andrew Lincoln) are British. I think it's kind of cool when casting ignores race or nationality. When Denzel Washington was cast as Keanu Reeve's brother in "Much Ado About Nothing", I was initially confused, but then thought it was brilliant. Oddly enough, hair color matters to me. A brunette, not blond, Barry Allen in "The Flash"? A barely-red-headed Ben Affleck as Daredevil? Argh. There was an old King of the Hill episode where the guys were talking to their new Asian neighbor at a neighborhood barbeque. They asked "Are you Chinese, or Japanese?" He said he was from Laos and explained where it was. The guys looked confused, then asked again "So are you Chinese, or Japanese?"
  11. A great post-credits clip from "Bridesmaids": https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/abc5c74c-8c5f-42aa-98b8-646459429478
  12. Thanks for bringing this thread alive again; it's from well before I found the forums. I often think about a quote I read in a novel, I'm not even sure which one, I think it's John Varley's "Demon". A character says (and I'm WILDLY paraphrasing) "I don't have any illusions about making the whole world perfect, forever. I just try to make where I am a little bit better, maybe just for today".
  13. I'm curious, what is the Amish view on homosexuality? My gut feel is that they're against it, but sometimes religion surprises you.
  14. This was a Jeopardy question last week! It's a tradition called "Rumspringa" (no idea if I've spelled that correctly).
  15. I saw this too! Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2: The Crimes of Grindelwald opens a year from now, November 16 2018. Most of the cast returning, new characters include Leta Lestrange (Newt's school friend), Newt's war-hero older brother (now engaged to Leta), and of course Jude Law as young Dumbledore.
  16. so this is signing up for a group trip with a hot tour guide?
  17. I thought that's what social media lived for. :-) I gave up a long time ago on correcting others on the internet, but I feel a closer relationship with the people here - which is why I've pointed out masseuse vs masseur myself in the past. That, and it's so close to what this forum is all about. But I doubt that pointing it out will make any difference. it'll be about as effective as people posting signs in the company kitchen saying "if you take the last cup, make a new pot". It's not that people are unaware of the rule, they just don't care.
  18. add poolboy to that list. :-) I rarely see a massage guy get off. it's happened, and I do enjoy it when they do, but I'd guess about 10% of the time in my experience.
  19. Does anyone else get a little smile out of the forum name "Traveling Members"?
  20. My TV show tattoos are not willy-nilly :-P
  21. given his food habits, I have this picture of him hogging all the snacks they bring for the kids on the wilderness tours.
  22. Cole is losing his luster for me, based on his general assholiness. JP is getting more and more attractive to me, but I've always liked the furry guys, and the state of his chest at this point tells me he was a chest-trimmer, now separated from his clippers. Ben's pretty hot too. I do love this stage where the guys are getting thinner and their pants don't stay up very well.
  23. Tiger, the dog, on the Brady Bunch. 'nuff said.
  24. Interesting discussion - basically implying that having a sexual attraction for one gender over the other is some form of phobic? I can appreciate beautiful women, have many as friends, but don't want to sleep with them, does that make me women-phobic? I remember the Trill episode of Next Gen, I don't remember thinking that Crusher was particularly cold in her rejection of the Trill in the new host.
