People gravitate to these panaceas without taking into account the often horrific side effects. I’ve gradually come to believe that, for me at least, the less pharma products the better, except for well-researched and effective drugs. I understand how beneficial some of these are for diabetics and the obese, where the weight is the main driver of poor health. I’ll be interested in reading members’ experiences with this new class of weight control drugs.

I don't take Wegovy, but I do take Trulicity for type 2 diabetes.    i have lost weight since i started using it

In your house ? I keep my phone in my back pocket when out-n-about, but when I'm home that would be uncomfortable while sitting on a chair or sofa, so it's most often on a table somewhere beside me. On a daily basis, I get up to do something and leave it there, sometime for hours until I get a call and I hear the faint ringing from another part of the house.

Apple makes a smart "watch" with an emergency feature. I think for an elderly home-alone this product is the most practical, as you don't have to carry it around, or wear it around your neck (in a somewhat ridiculous manner) like the First Alert alarm.

i am 72 y/o with a heart condition,  i have an apple watch.

Over the past couple of years my A1C and Poct Glucose  test results have gone  from borderline to high and back again. My doctor is aggressively treating my diabetes.

For those of you who are on medication(s) which ones are you on, how long have you been on them, and are they helping? I started out  on Metformin with no results. The doctor then added Glipizide and, most recently, Farxiga.

I’ve also met with a dietitian and have made some changes in my diet. I’m an   active person and exercise regularly. I’m not overweight and have no family history of diabetes. Yes, I have lost weight on the Metformin.

I’d appreciate hearing from members who are also diagnosed with diabetes and taking medication.

my heart doctor required me to drop Glipizide, he says it is very bad for your heart.   I take Jardiance, and Basaglar with a weekly shot of Trulicity.

Pathetic when Dems bring politics into a health issue and use masking as a way to troll/provoke others!

    China flu was a hoax!

tell that to the familys of over 1 million who died in the United States alone.  People are continuing to die each day in the US to the  equilivent of 1 major plane crash a day in deaths.  I guess that is all a "hoax" also

I have a new diagnosis - RA - started methotrexate two weeks ago. As soon as I get to my full methotrexate dose, the joint doc says we will start to taper the corticosteroid.

in addition to methotrexate i would take Leucovorin within 6 hours.   it was supposed to help with the side affects      good luck with your treatment program

Pannetone is a sweet yeast bread - it isn't poundcake.  Most people who say they don't like fruitcake have only been exposed to the ones in the christmassy-ooking tins that you see stacked in drug stores and grocery stores around the holidays. And that kind of fruitcake deserves all that jokes that are directed at it.

I have never encountered a poundcake with raisins in it that was called fruitcake.  The only fruitcakes I have ever encountered are fruitcakes - some inedible ones from stores and some the food of the gods made by home bakers.  The thing that makes the fruitcake is the fruit and the nuts and the ripening.   A month old fruitcake is an entirely different thing from what it was the day it was baked.  You can age fruitcakes for several years if you want to.

I have seen sources on the internet that make designer fruitcakes that cost in the range of $200.  I imagine a 200.00 fruitcake could be pretty good.

i happen to like a small piece of Christmas fruit cake in the afternoon with a cup of strong coffee.  a little piece goes a long way

Im wondering if any forum members are living with autoimmune disorders, such as RA.  I was just dx'd with polymyalgia - which is sort of RA light - stiff, sore joints, low-grade fever, no appetite, vascular inflammation.  Supposedly it will go away eventually - maybe in  a year, maybe in 3 years.    Treatment is a small daily dose of corticosteroids.   I'm in the process of figuring life out going forward.

I have RA.  Almost 30 years ago I looked like the Michelin tire character.  My entire body was inflamed.  I was on a steroid treatment at first then moved to Methotrexate, which I ended up on for 6 years.  Eventually my swelling went down and the RA was pushed in remission.  Since then I have occasional flares but am able to keep moving about.  I have to keep active every day or I ache and am stiff everywhere.

SUBWAY is giving out 1 million free 6 inch subs (first 50 customers per location) between 10 AM and noon local time TU 7/12/22.

Leave tonight & prepare to camp out overnight to reserve your place in line!

ADDED LATER:  I've known about this for days...  I'm so, so sorry I didn't post this sooner, so y'all could've planned.

i personally don't like Subway subs.   I would have preferred that they gave them away to a Community Kitchen or Food Pantry.

What the fuck is the matter with you ?

I don't know you and I don't know this Jay dude however I stumbled upon your post degrading this guy (in the most inhumane way possible) and I'm just floored that in 2022 when we know that this type of unnecessary "cyber bullying" is one of the common factors mentioned that pushes someone over the edge that they either wanna commit suicide or worse = go and kill innocent people.

i have been with Jay.  my guess is that the person who commented on Jay has another axe to grind regarding him.
