  1. He said that in an interview in 2012. Then he does CMBYN. Go figure.
  2. I totally agree - Armie Hammer appeared to be much older than 25 in CMBYN and was totally miscast (Armie was 31 when the movie was shot). More importantly I did not sense any chemistry between him and the beautiful Timothée Chalamet. Armie's character arrives one day, plays volleyball shirtless, dances wildly with the girls, and suddenly he's lying seductively in the meadow with the teenage son of his mentor. A more accomplished (and nuanced) actor like Nicholas Hoult (one of my faves since A Single Man) could have created a bit more sexual tension and have avoided some of the "pedo-feel" that some have suggested with Armie. It was a good movie and the final scene, with Timothée staring tearfully into the fireplace while the credits rolled (I'm guessing a lot of us have had similar experiences?) was superb. Wondering if Armie's cannibalism fantasies may affect his participation in CMBYN Part Deux.
  3. Indiana is one of the most redneck states; I don't mean Conservative, I mean redneck. I remember riding up I-65 when I was a child (in the late 1950s) and seeing billboards along the Interstate for the KKK. However, Indy is a a modern, progressive city with lots of young liberal professionals. I used to visit Indy a couple of times a month to see the strippers at the late, great, Unicorn Club until it became crowded with females - (nothing against females but it's a different vibe). I continue to travel to Indy periodically as I connect with guys on Grindr and the regular rental sites. They tend to be more economically feasible and are no less hot than guys anywhere. Maybe the roster is more limited than Chicago or Nashville (the I-65 corridor) but you can afford a lot more of them. As far as a vacation destination, they have a great children's museum, sports venues, and the downtown area is great after dark. But for a single gay person, there are a lot of other cities with more to do. If you're traveling to Indy, make sure you stop in Columbus, just south of Indy, to say hi to Mike Pence and Mother. They'd probably enjoy the company- just don't mention the gay thing.
  4. You have to book him quickly b/c he doesn't stay long in one place. After one night in Indy, he's now in Cincy and perhaps headed East. Get ready Columbus and/or Pittsburgh.
  5. He came through Kentucky a couple of days ago - I saw him on A4A where he also advertises (as "ZakTaylor"). He offered a very low rate, given the hotness of his photos - which makes me wonder what exactly he's willing to do. I did not hire b/c he stated he was only here for one night and I'm still feelng a bit fatigued/achy from the vaccine shot. He moved on to Chicago and now he's in Indy. He has a different phone number on the A4A site. The phone number on A4A is a Des Moines area code.
  6. I once had lunch with a News Director at a local network affiliate who told me that their local TV news anchor, despite appearing affable & laid-back onscreen, was a real a-hole douche bag as soon as the camera was turned off. He said that these local TV "celebrities" get such public recognition and adulation that they develop a huge sense of entitlement and start to think that everyone is there to serve their needs. If this is true for a medium-sized media market, I can only imagine the size of the EGO's of the Prima Donnas that lurk the halls of the major networks in NYC and LA.
  7. My favorite anchor - now moving over to my favorite network (from ABC to NBC)
  8. Many years ago while on vacation in Fort LiquorDale, I was briskly walking south on Seabreeze Avenue towards Las Olas Blvd. on my way to the Liquor Store near the corner Las Olas & AIA (it's still there). I was distracted by a commotion in the little park on the corner and wasn't watching where I was going. As a result, I almost ran into a couple of teenage boys, one of whom jokingly yelled at me "Slow down, POPS." That was the first time I realized that I was no longer young, at least not to teens. Funny how such minor incidents linger in the mind as milestones in one's life.
  9. I wasn't gay until I saw Peter Berlin. Also, Chad Douglass, Matt Gunther, and Tim Kramer.
  10. “I have to tell you, a restaurant is a very tricky investment — over half of them go out of business in the first six months. If I were your accountant, I’d have to strongly advise you against it.” “You’re not my accountant.” “I realize I’m not your accountant. [Pause.] I’m just saying … if I were your accountant … “ -- "The Duke" (Charles Grodin) in Midnight Run I would think that a bar is a "very tricky investment" also.
  11. Lots of folks live poor so they can die rich. Makes no sense. You'll never see a hearse pulling a U-Haul.
  12. I loved the themes from Laverne and Shirley & Mary Tyler More Show. For most intriguing and compelling opening sequence/Dramatis personae , gotta be Breaking Bad.
  13. "Darrell" was the local tough kid who took on all challengers and usually knocked out his opponent in about one minute. He loved to pick fights. If you heard that Darrell was looking for you, a kid would be tempted to enter the Witness Protection Program. Don't think people can change? Darrell went on the become a successful designer of Greeting Cards.
  14. 12 years old? I've had my mattress so long that there's an outline of my body that resembles the Shroud of Turin.
  15. Interesting video about "The Kilted Coaches"learning ballet. A brief bit of butt at 7:08. I'm totally into the professional dancer in green shorts.
  16. Getting my 1st vaccine shot on Monday. Fort Liquordale won't be far behind.
  17. But in your picture you've got a full head of hair. Concerning the OP, it sounds to me like maybe you've got a low-grade depression. People often over-eat when they are depressed and lack motivation. Depressed folks 1)feel like there's very little good about their lives; 2)feel like the future is pretty hopeless; 3)the problem is ME, not my circumstances. Along with @Monarchy79 (and others) excellent advice, I would encourage you to see a therapist to help you identify your feelings, process them, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, set some goals (and SPECIFIC STEPS to achieve them). Therapy is not meant to be "rent-a-friend" - it's about CHANGE - what do you need to change to make your life more enjoyable (it could be a change of thinking about yourself, change in your daily routines, change in who you hang out with). Set SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-limited). From your posts, I am sure you have the intelligence to make changes, I suspect you just need a professional to help you get going. Bon chance. 18. I understand Unicorn's exuberance about receiving the vaccine (I get my first injection in a week and already feel some exhilaration). However, I also read in the NY Times that researchers still think it is possible for a vaccinated person to be a spreader. For a fuller explanation, you can read the article at: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/08/health/covid-vaccine-mask.html
  19. I see where Putnam County is dry in a lot of areas (i.e no alcohol sales). People are sometimes amazed when I tell them that out of 120 counties in Kentucky, 38 are entirely dry – no alcohol sales, no bars, no exceptions. Only 32 are completely wet. The rest are a mixed bag. Too many Southern Baptists. Anyway, Nashville is a great place. I have found some really hot escorts there as it is only a two hour drive from me. Nice folks in TN, except the ones who "blow theyselves up." Welcome to the Mid-South. We put the "ALL" in Y'all.
  20. Morality is usually defined as the rightness or wrongness (goodness or badness) of an act. It always involves a person's values. Certainly, there are various degrees of rightness and wrongness. Some acts are plainly wrong e.g. killing for no reason. Some acts fall into a gray area - there are shades of good and bad. Paying for sex is not "good" in many value systems (esp religious) even though many who practice religion also engage in prostitution (usually as buyers). Does any "good" come from prostitution? Some rely on it for sustenance. Others who have no other outlets have their lusts satisfied (what the church calls "the remedy for concupiscence"). Does bad ever come from prostitution? Some connect drugs to it; others say it is demeaning and cheapens sex. I personally would say that the morality of hiring depends on several contexts that only the individual can determine. I doubt that it led to the fall of Rome as some have speculated, but I also believe that stable, monogamous relationships stabilize a society. From a religious standpoint, I am personally hoping that God (should She exist) will take into account whether one was a caring, honest, giving person rather than whether he paid to get his rocks off. It didn't seem to bother his Son who used to hang around with prostitutes and found them closer to the Father than the so-called religious folks.
  21. I thought of switching to Vanguard (their Index Funds are great) but I think they just did away with Bill Pay which I rely on heavily - having my bills paid automatically each month w/out worrying about them is very convenient.
  22. Suggestion: look at market summaries for 2020 and see which sectors (e.g. Energy, Utilities, Healthcare, Tech) have been depressed during the past year, go for the (quality) bargains. There might be some bounce left in a few high-flyers, but, like they say "Buy low, sell high." The good income/dividend stocks (e.g. VZ, T, JNJ, ABBV) are near 52 week highs - no money to be made right now - wait for a big correction - with a new president you never know when the big players will bail - they scare easily. I like Fidelity Funds b/c they have a ton of research available including "risk," "ratings" (per Morningstar, etc.), as well as all the technical info. Bon Chance and Bonne Année!
