Oh, puh-leeze!!! That tat means nothing. I’ve blown plenty of men with religious tats. I love to hear them cry “Oh, God! Oh, God!” when they’re nowhere near a Church. I got them closer to Heaven then they’ll ever know.

I must respectfully disagree. That is the scene where he’s hiding in the closet whilst suffering a nose bleed. There IS a scene where he puts Oliver’s swim trunks on his head. And, if I remember correctly, the corresponding scene in the book has Elio getting much more intimate with Oliver’s clothes. Has it been 8 years since this film was released? It still speaks to me.

To paraphrase Lucky, a true peek-a-boo would be an accidental glimpse of the secret parts. If you are showing it, or if you have somehow “arranged” yourself for “it” to be seen, then it's not a peek-a-boo. The thrill is getting to see something not intended for your viewing.
