Tried to figure out a meet up and even possibly buy content from him but he had the most rude attitude ever lol it’s one thing to be uninterested but down right ruder to the people that’s trying to pay you is crazy. I’d steer clear of this guy

If you need evening/night, sometimes you can get bargains on hotwire.com.  Trick is they will not disclose the hotel until you pay.   You can specify what neighborhood, and how many stars.  In some cases the will show you a pic of the hotel room, or say "the hotel is one of the 4 following hotels:".  Same goes for priceline.  I have scored hotels in NYC as low as $129/night on Hotwire.  Beware resort and other hidden fees....Hotwire will show you the total price (room rate + fees + taxes) in the fine print.  Good luck.

There is Kew Motor Inn which is hourly.  I've met clients there before, the themed rooms help add to the experience.

Thanks for this info.  I am usually looking for daytimes, but the next time I need an evening spot, I'll check out midtown west/Chelsea.
And good advice for everyone to watch out for the "resort fees" that hotels charge but that aren't quoted with the room price.

They all try and trick you by posting the room (only) cost. There is no way to avoid that.
But....on most travel sites you will see a difference between the room cost and your TOTAL ( which is usually printed in tiny letters so you don't immediately notice they've added $ 75 or more for the resort fee.
Once you start to BOOK the room, check your TOTAL. There is no way for them to add the fee after you've booked. THAT is illegal.  But they DO try to slip it in without you noticing. It's always there somewhere.

I'm looking to host an encounter in Manhattan somewhere, and the thought was to get a hotel just for the 2 hr evening. But I do not really want to lay out $300 on a room that will be used for like 2-3 hours.
Options I have found is using Hotwire with the mystery 4 star hotel -- when booking 5-7 days out, there are rooms for $100 (so 200 after taxes etc). But with some providers they have trouble booking that far out.
What other resources are there in Manhattan (and I guess surrounding areas) for a room that will only be used 2 hrs, and is cheaper than 200?
Of course, don't want bed bugs LOL. Something reasonable.
I know there are day rate blocks but they don't seem to be much cheaper than 100 (200 with tax).
Anyone have any ideas? Appreciate any tips.

There definitely are a whole bunch that offer slots of 6-10pm. Wall Street Inn, Yotel, and a whole bunch in the midtown west and Chelsea area. I use them regularly. May dry up in the busier seasons. Also, watch out for the “resort fee” that some add on, which can really jack up the price.

Check out the thread below, and get the DayUse app, you’ll find reasonable rates for 4-6 hours or so.
