  1. I have discussed this with my cardiologist as recently as my last visit. I have been on them for about 8 years and starting two years ago he suggested that he might take me off them. He said the evidence was mixed but as I got older they may be less useful. I’m 78 and he said that by 80 he would recommend stopping taking baby aspirin. My younger sister went on them before me but her doctor took her off them a couple of years ago.
  2. These days there are more professional lesbian couples who have reached retirement age and are in the >150K$ income bracket. My sister is one of them. But they don’t participate in the gay community. They live in a college town and lead a quiet life. They have younger neighbours who are in similar circumstances eg. 2 doctors pulling in >500k$ annually. Times have changed since the 70’s when I was young. Most lesbians I knew then were poor.
  3. Another recipe which I use from time to time is canned salmon mixed with cream of mushroom soup heated and poured over toast. Can add peas if desired.
  4. I like it in a salad with other ingredients. I buy the good stuff from British Columbia. Not cheap but tastes great.
  5. I take baby aspirin daily for my cardio system. So I don’t take regular aspirin for the odd ache or pain I have. I take Tylenol and have never had any problems with it. 40 years ago a guy who ran in our circles took excessive amounts of Tylenol before it was known about the effects it had on livers and he went into liver failure and was dead in 2 weeks. Only about 35 yo and we were all shocked.
  6. Are you talking about the curly haired guy or the one with the cap? There’s a guy mostly hidden on the left who I didn’t count. I like the one with the cap.
  7. Drat.
  8. And he’s coming to Toronto! May have to make a pilgrimage.
  9. When was 40 I was 5’11 and a half and weighed 160 pounds. I had a 31” waist and was slim. Today I am 78 and 5’11” (lost a half inch) and 175 pounds. 34 inch waist.
  10. Don’t firemen have a height restriction?

    Toronto Scene

I agree. Toronto has a lot of interesting escorts.
  12. Where did he say he was a fireman or give his age. 160 pounds seems small for a fireman if he is one.
  13. My reading of the OP is different from yours. It seemed to me he was out of shape and wanted to get fit, not necessarily add bulk.
  14. You’re looking in the wrong place.
  15. I was always happy with my figure. I only trained to keep fit. If you gain muscle mass you have to buy a whole new set of clothes. I can still wear suits and jackets from 30 or more years ago.
  16. Yes. Look it up if you doubt me.
  17. I understand there’s some money in New York City.
  18. All of that sounds very disciplined and methodical in its execution. You must have a very regular life to stick to such a routine. In my working days I also worked gym and trainers into my regular schedule. Except I travelled a lot for business so many interruptions in my routine. After I retired I was able to maintain a more regular routine. Now many years later I mostly swim and do a little exercise at the gym. No more trainers.
  19. Interesting you wrote “right of passage”. The term is “rite of passage”. Quite different from right.
  20. I beg to differ. I saw KS up close and on many of my friends starting around 1983. The lesions were purplish and on their arms, legs and torsos, which were the exposed ones. Others lurked in hidden spots on the body. We were all terrified of them. An ex- lover had them. Others were afflicted with the pneumonia and weight loss. I witnessed this in the gay community in Canada, Florida and California up until about 1994/95. By that point the drug cocktails kicked in and many recovered at least partially. Others had suffered too much damage and died a few years later despite the advances in drugs. I don’t know but I assume anyone on treatment now does not get KS or pneumonia (I forget the name) and can lead a normal life. Meaning they will die from some other cause.
  21. The dark mark looks like a KS from the days of AIDs. Ugh.
  22. His dancing style is a bit like John Travolta’s in SNF but more muscular and athletic.
  23. Puppy love. Ain’t it great.
  24. We actually have had a beautiful summer here in eastern Canada and now September is gorgeous. But winter is still coming.
  25. Ironically, the major Commonwealth countries have as difficult a time to amend their constitutions as the US does. Perhaps for different US reasons as the US has a history of amending their constitution since the republic was founded. But today it seems any amendment such as to the Electoral College would appear remote. Getting back to Prince Harry his chances of ever mounting the throne are equally remote.
