Super low functioning charter school. K-8. Very senior faculty member pulls me aside as I am about to give notice. Tired of a school that does not serve its students. 
"We have lots of gay kids here... They need to see someone like you. You are gay, right?"

Maybe that will liven things up at Boardwalk. It's a really nice looking bar, the remodeling a few years back opened up the space. Management just needs to attract a better collection of dancers. With Leboy's focus on twinks and Johnson's menu of muscle men, Boardwalk needed to fill in the gap with frat boys, blue collar guys, surfers....something in between.

His name was Gary, and we were in same grade in a Catholic high school. The first time I really noticed him left an image still seared onto my brain to this day.
I was in an Art class, taught by a teacher who was also the Drama teacher and director for the school's student theater. Gary was down on the stage in the gym, helping to build sets for an upcoming production. He had a question about something, so he left the gym and came up to the 3rd floor Arts Classroom to ask the Drama teacher. I heard the door open, glanced up, then away - then back again as my eyes widened and my mouth dropped open as I stared at this boy.
"He looks different," I thought, but couldn't say how. Then I realized - he's not wearing a shirt! Well, he was wearing a T-shirt, but nothing over it. At our school, the girls had to wear uniforms, but the boys just had to wear slacks -no jeans- and a collared shirt. He'd taken the shirt off while working on the sets and either didn't remember or didn't bother to put it back on to come upstairs. Thank God!
The shirt looked two sizes too small and was stretched tightly across a broad chest with peaked nipples pushing up against the fabric. His 16-year-old biceps made the sleeves stretch around them as his tanned arms went all the way down to his strong hands. His face was square jawed, with high cheekbones, full lips, and dimples when he smiled. He was topped off with a fluff of light chestnut hair, some falling slightly down his forehead in a little curl.
Not that I was paying that much attention.😋
He was a sometimes member of the group of drama nerds I ran with, and I was never able to keep my eyes off of him, scarred as I was of getting caught ogling him. He was friendly toward me but not in a "let's hang out" sort of way. I later found he'd gotten a girl pregnant but never heard what came of that. Lost track of him after high school but have remembered him now for over 50 years. And when I close my eyes, I can still see Gary standing there as that handsome hunk that helped me realize who I really was. Hope he's had a good life.

I certainly noticed him @Cock Eyed Optimist but my real attention was focused on Ben Murphy in Alias Smith & Jones (on ABC). He wasn’t my crush: it was true love.
 
Ben Murphy was the first man I’d seen with a pretty face and long hair who also had a nicely developed smooth, muscled torso. He often was shown bathing or stripped to the waist, which delighted me.

Ft Lauderdale has 3 strip clubs that operate on a near daily basis. (Mondays are the biggest exception in which only one is open.)
Montreal has 3 (at least the last time I was there). 

Instead of trying to pick the perfect place, just try to hit them all. Each place has benefits and drawbacks.

Sauna is probably a stretch.  Steamworks is a full blown bath house (and I mean that in the best possible way).  There is a large wet area, including whirlpool, group showers, a sauna and larger steamroom with several nooks and benches (it's like a long hallway with little offshoot rooms), even a weight room.  There's a second sauna an the third floor and showers on all floors.  There's porn playing everywhere.
Otherwise, there are rooms to rent (or just get a locker), mazes to walk around, glory holes, slings, benches...you name it.
Overall, the place is large, clean, and safe (although use your head and store your valuables).  I've only ever been in the evening, and the later you go, the bigger the crowd.  But I have no doubt you could find a lunchtime crowd or after work crowd too.
It's not a covert cruising spot like your neighborhood Russian Bath or anything.  It's there for sex, or watching, or whatever you want in between.  I'm sure my other Chicago brethren can chime in.

I finally made my second trip to Montreal since 2016 and after the pandemic. I arrived on the 1st of April when Canada no longer require a pre-departure covid test.
Still jetlagged from my 21-hour flight, I unpacked at my AirBnB, I showered and I headed straight to Campus. I paid $2 to check in my coat plus $6 to get in. It was busy with about 30% female in the audience. I counted 8 very sexy dancers on stage, who did two sets of dance. First, when they come out wearing jeans and partially removing them to show either their arses or top of their undies. Second, when they come out with a raging hard on. I had my eyes on a very muscly guy about 6'4 who reminded me of the porn star Ricky Sinz. He didn't seem to be interested in getting any business from men as he was mostly flirting with the female audience. Then the audience gasp when this guy Gabriel did his second set. I said to myself, 'Imma get this guy in the backroom'...but he was snatched by someone else as soon as he got off the stage. Not my lucky night, I thought, so I went to the bar and bought another beer. By the way, I felt that the Mexican-looking bartender didn't like me. I've waved and waved at him but he was deliberately ignoring me. I got his attention eventually and got my second beer. Gave him $20 and told him to keep the change, you silly bitch! I sat on a stool near where the pool table is, not hoping to get a lap dance that night. I intended to finish my drink then call it a night. Then I felt a tap on my back. I turned and it is, Gabriel!. We said our 'how-do-you-dos' and then headed in the back. He did not disappoint. My hands were all over his body while he was dry-kissing me on my neck, forehead and face. I asked if I can suck his dick but he said no because he's straight and then showed me pics of his gf on his phone as proof, I guess.
The following night I went to Stockbar paying $4 entrance + $2 to check in my coat. The guy complimented my scarf so I gave him $2 tip. The club is not as busy as Campus with only 4 dancers and about 20 patrons. I immediately noticed Ronnie when I entered the club. I got my drink and sat down and have observed him going from one patron to another. They all must have said no to him because he would leave and go to the next person. My heart was beating fast when he approached the guy on the table next to me. I was hoping that the guy would say no too so I would be next. The guy did say no but Ronnie skipped me and went to the room where the dancers stay when they're not dancing instead. 
Another guy, Adam, approached me, who's friendly and also handsome like Ronnie. But you know that feeling when you had your eyes on someone/something that you're trying to get but could not get? I told Adam that I'm interested but I will get back to him later. He said 'ok, cool' and then he left. 
A second guy (Jay) approached me. Nice looking but rude and arrogant. When I gave him the same reply I gave to Adam, he left abruptly. (Later in the evening he would approach me again and when I said no, he rudely told me, 'what else are you doing here?'. I've had my lap dance already and bought 4 beers at $9 each plus tips, so I told him matter-of-factly that I am not interested in him. That must have hurt his feelings but I won't let anyone talk to me like that).
Then I saw Ronnie again fresh from giving someone a good time in the back. I stared at him trying to get his attention but another guy grabbed him and they both disappeared in the back. I decided to play the poker machine while waiting for him. I put in $20 and lost; I put in another $20 and won $200!. I collected it and Adam saw it, and he joked that my winning would pay for 10 songs in the back. I liked his care-free attitude and I think he's really cute so I said okay. 
As we were choosing which room to use, I caught a glimpse of Ronnie's jeans on the floor next to his tennis shoes under the closed curtain. I can only imagine what was going on behind it and it made me jealous. Thankfully Adam was very sexy and gave me an excellent session. I didn't give him all my winnings though as I'm saving it for Ronnie next time. 
But the next time didn't happen because I left that night when Jay annoyed me. Also the club was closed Mondays and Tuesdays and I left Montreal for New York on Wednesday so I was really saddened that I didn't meet Ronnie. BTW Ronnie on the Stockbar website is different from today. He is hunkier and has a better hair-do.
I was hoping to meet Frank or Ryan in Stockbar but I didn't see any of them. I must have gone the wrong night (Saturday).
The Village and the rest of Montreal look like they're still recovering from the pandemic. I found The Village a bit rough and dirty compared to six years ago. There's a lot of junkies along Ste-Catherine. Most businesses are either closed permanently or partially open. The Underground City is dead. Masks are required on buses and trains and inside the train station. I remember being very excited the first time I visited in 2016 but I didn't have the same feeling this time. 
Anyway, the rest of the city may still be trying to get back on its feet but at least the strip clubs are back in full swing to give us joy and happiness we craved after two years!

If you have time, try to watch the play revival TAKE ME OUT or the new musical that won the Pulitzer a few years ago, STRANGE LOOP.

The time I spent at the Gaiety and Stella's seems so long ago. I didn't know how good we had it...okay, yes, I did!

From 1970 until 2004 I visited New York several times a year.  I had a great time at the Gayiety and many other bars.  I had the pleasure of meeting Cooper https://www.companyofmen.org/profile/257-cooper/ and Foxy and many others.  But when I came, it was like a business trip seeing as many Broadway shows as I could.  Now in my Swan Song years, I will come back one more time in late April to see again as many shows as I can, but could you recommend some gay bars to visit in the Midtown area?  I'm not comatose yet, so I can stand the action, but I am not familiar with the many bars I used to go to in my Salad Days.  Thanks!

Smartphones really have changed the dynamic of bars and restaurants whether gay or straight. A real killer for social interaction between strangers. Glad they didnt exist when I was young and hustling for pickups in the bars. And I don't mean for cash transactions. I had to make it on my looks then. Lol.

I tend to go to piano bars nowadays as I like the ambiance, the singing, and it's easier to break the ice with strangers.
If I go to a random gay bar in NYC, most of the guys I see there are either with friends or alone by the bar checking their smartphone (most likely on grindr or scruff or growlr or jackd, etc.)
