  1. Thanks! Wondering if he will keep the same staff? Some of the guys have been there since it was Johnny's. Several of the bartenders like Andie, and of course Yannis! When I go back this winter I hope my old friends are still there. Especially Lee, the bouncer!!!
  2. Wow! If anyone has more information, please let us know.
  3. As of 9/24/19 there are 9 reviews posted on their Facebook site. The average rating at this time is 1.0 out of 5. The major complaints are: 1. The high cover charge - $15 2. The fact that you have to fill out forms in order to become a member before you can enter the bar. 3. The high price of drinks. The owner posted a reply saying that he sees the complaints and will try to rectify them in the future.
  4. Two days after the comment by Lara Spencer, 300 dancers staged a protest of sorts outside the studio by teaching a ballet class to the attendees. It was led by Travis Wall and Alex Wang, both of who had been contestants on So You Think You Can Dance. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/entertainment/music/hundreds-of-dancers-take-part-in-ballet-flash-mob-in-times-square-in-protest-at-us-tv-presenters-mocking-comments-about-prince-george/ar-AAGoTIb In addition, Nygel Lythgoe, a judge on SYTYCD had comments about Lara Spencer's ridicule of males taking ballet.
  5. Thanks for the update, Karl-G!!! That Champagne Room was always wasted space. And the new rates for lap dances is a plus.
  6. Wow! What is NEWTumblr? I haven't heard about it. I Googled it, and nothing came up. I actually went to: ...NEWTumblr.com and got an error message. ??
  7. Do you know if Taboo has a website? The one listed above doesn't exist anymore and I wasn't able to find one when Googling.
  8. I just discovered that Jake had been in a revival of Sunday in the Park with George. I didn't know he could sing (or perhaps he can't). Did you see that, Foxy?
  9. Keep us posted as to what happens when you see him again!
  10. From southern Illinois: ...can't tell shit from Shinola! ...Dumb as goose shit! ...Built like a brick shithouse!
  11. This was a trend at LeBoy in Ft. Lauderdale over a year ago. The dancers would huddle together in a corner and play with their phones instead of the customers, but this year, when I was down for the winter, I saw none of that. In fact, I didn't see any dancer on the floor with his phone. Maybe a new policy is in effect? If so, it works!!
  12. Please let us know if they are back to "fully nude".
  13. Please let us know if they are back to "fully nude".
  14. Even though the "new" Boardwalk has been open for a while, the official Grand Opening is tonight, July 13th. They are actually offering free admission tonight which is a first!! They list "Full Menu" on their FB ad, so perhaps the outdoor cafe is open? If anyone attends, please give an update.
  15. I'm not sure if it is in the same place, but here is their new website: (with details and pictures) www.777complex.com What they don't say is if it will be with nude dancers or not.
  16. Well, it may be another false alarm, but here goes: An ad popped up on my FaceBook last night regarding the reopening of Floppy Rooster at 777 NE 79th St. in Miami. They even posted an ad on Craigslist advertising for dancers. Only time will tell.
  17. After WilliamM's post about reviving a show, I remembered one of my favorites that I have never seen revived or even produced by any small theatres here in Chicago. https://www.ibdb.com/broadway-production/a-day-in-hollywood--a-night-in-the-ukraine-3950 I saw it on Broadway in the 80's and went back the next day to see it again to hear again the catchy lyrics in the first act. Has anyone else ever seen this show?
  18. Wow! I hadn't thought about that musical in years! After it closed on Broadway, it was popular in the dinner-theatre circuit here in Chicago, then disappeared.
  19. I saw "The Cher Show" when it was in its early stages in Chicago. I wasn't impressed, but then read it was completely revamped before it open in NYC. I was hoping it would have been a success since the subject matter has such potential.
  20. "The Music Man" is one of those musicals that I have seen so often, that I didn't think I could sit through it again; but the Goodman Theatre in Chicago is doing a big revival this summer and I am chomping at the bit again to see it. That might me that I will have to trek off to NYC to see it with Jackman as well.
  21. Thanks for this Beethoven! Tammy Grime's distinct voice brings a smile to my face every time I hear her. And thanks for exposing this musical to me. I wasn't bitten by the "Musical Theatre Bug" until around 1970, so this show is new to me.
  22. 1. LeBoy in Ft. Lauderdale - I agree with Jake, Johnny's had a better vibe but I love LeBoy 2. Boxers N Briefs in Centreville, IL - I can't believe that you can find a place where the guys dance nude in southern IL. 3. The Corner Pocket in NOLA - The bar becomes the stage right in front of you!
  23. I know this is an old tired topic, but is there anything new (stripper bar or just a gay bar) in Vegas anywhere near the strip? Taking a trip out there next week, and just had to give it another try. I baffles me to think this city is such a waste-land for gay establishments give Krave closed.
