If you take a look at the post two pots above this one, you will see “Gionavanni’s Parties”. Giovanni was the dynamo that started out first at LeBoy several years ago, and then moved over to Boardwalk. He organized shows, planned parties, recruited dancers, and kept south Florida gay life alive with his imagination. Unfortunately Giovanni passed away several months ago, and all that creativity seems to be lost.

My stripper blues comes from the fact that here in the USA, stripper bars are falling by the wayside as we speak. So many of those bars are in my “memory banks” only. 🥲

Well after all the Hoop-Dee-Doo four months ago, nothing? Does anyone have an update? I’m glad to say that the Lucky Horseshoe is still going strong

Since there are two stages, there are usually a minimum of 10 dancers, and since this is Pride Week in Chicago, I would suspect there would be even more.

If no license applications have even been submitted by Colunga, the chances of it opening in May are almost non-existent. That should have the first thing he did. Anything involving a liquor license in Chicago takes forever. Does anyone have more information on this?

I was there all winter. Left two weeks ago. I spent all my time with Bracho and Jason. Both gorgeous and very friendly!

I have never know anyone that did that, but then, I have never asked.

Hmmmm….that seems strange. Bobby Love’s seems so small. The one in Florida is big. On one side is the bar separated by a wall from the stage room with a stage big enough for 3 or 4 dancers at a time.

I was told that they bought the recently vacated Berlin club on Belmont. Any word on this? I asked a bartender from Lucky Horseshoe and he said they weren’t being bought out. Confusing

I just hope they don’t buy out The Lucky Horseshoe Lounge. That has been my favorite dancer bar in Chicago for years!

That is correct. Boxers was in southern Il, right across the river from St. Louis

The Lucky Horseshoe still is the main dancer bar in Chicago. they have dancers every night except Monday. On any given night, they have from 10 to 15 dancers. There are two stages, in different room, for dancers, and there is a third room with a bar that opens on weekends. The owner of Lucky horseshoe also owns “@tmosphere” which has dancers late at night. It is up in Andersonville. It is much smaller with one stage. Those are the only two places that are left in Chicago as far as I know.

LeBoy in FT. Lauderdale, has an amateur night contest each Wednesday night, and once a year the monthly winners can compete in a contest for the prize of $5,000. That contest was held last week.

I’m surprised that Cooper and Foxy haven’t chimed in on this thread. Remember how they would attend the first show of the week (Monday) at the Gayiety, and then post a review on this site listing the dancers and their attributes. I really miss that. Such detail!

Do a search for “LeBoy” in this forum. I have done many reviews in this forum over the years. And after 10 years of reviewing it remains my all time favorite dancer bar. 😇

I haven’t seen an update in a while of Lucky Horseshoe in Chicago, so I thought I would attempt one. Since Micah took ownership of the bar, he has made quite a few improvements. There are three bars inside with two of them that have stages for dancers. The third bar is open only on weekends. The old bathrooms have been updated, and a third one installed in the far back bar. They have various theme nights, and added new lighting. Drinks are fairly priced compared to other bars in Chicago. The dancers have improved greatly in my opinion. They dance every night except Monday at 8:00 and start at 3:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. On any given night there are from 12 to 20 dancers in all sizes and shapes, from twink to twunk to bodybuilder. They are good about not huddling together, but make the rounds of the customers. During the evening, there are 2 dancers at all times - one on the front stage and one on the back stages. Both stages are accessible from all sides. Micah recently bought the bar called @mosphere up in Andersonville in Chicago. They have dancers as well, but don’t start until the late nights.
