  1. I agree with Ben. Whilst I haven’t been to Shanghai, I do know Hong Kong and Singapore. For sure Singapore!
  2. A quick update, I returned to the buffet this morning at the JW in Tucson. I again dished out some ketchup to put on the bland eggs. To my surprise, it was not spicy today....just regular old ketchup. I appreciated that. Maybe Saturday is the spicy ketchup day at the hotel or maybe someone made a mistake putting out the spicy version rather than the regular one. I'll never know.
  3. I have to say I agree with the view that the gay ghettos are not interesting to me. I find Weho and Wilton Manors way over the top on the gayness scale. It’s just too much for me. I don’t need to be surrounded by gayness to feel comfortable and to have fun. I do travel to Ft Lauderdale fairly frequently but It’s only because of Johnson’s. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be going there.
  4. So I'm in Tucson staying at the JW Marriott. I went to the breakfast buffet (just average btw...nothing special) this morning. There were no ketchup bottles on the tables. Ketchup was located at the buffet in a large ramekin (along with other things like salsa) to be dished out with a small spoon. Well, you guessed it, the ketchup was spicy. Not off the charts spicy...but spicy, nonetheless. I did use it on my bland eggs. It was edible...but really why spicy ketchup as the default ketchup for the whole place? Yes I'm aware that Southwestern cuisine is highly influenced by Mexican cuisine and that Tucson is in the Southwest US. But really why do we need spicy ketchup? I guess I'm just ranting. It wasn't the end of the world and I did eat it...just noteworthy and fitting for this topic. Rant over.
  5. I don’t think anyone has criticized the new law. I think it’s a good thing and well overdue. I do think you are underestimating how damaged the Florida real estate market really is. The condo HOA issue, skyrocketing insurance rates, and the general cost of living in Florida are all huge issues. Whilst wealthy people can handle all of this, the average Joe cannot. If the working class can’t afford to live there anymore, who’s going to provide services to all the rich folks…particularly in South Florida?
  6. Every time I open the internet now I see a new article about how the Florida condo market is collapsing due to new regulations on building upkeep/standards/maintenance. Partly stemming from the Surfside condominium collapse in 2021. This is a particularly severe issue in older high-rise buildings where many owners can't pay the higher HOA fees/special assessments...so they face possible foreclosure. I'm so glad I lived in Florida in the 1990's and got out when I did. In no way shape or form would I consider investing in Florida today. Way too risky. It seems like a house of cards to me.
  7. Ashton Kutcher & Mila Kunis don't bathe very often either. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis say they don’t believe in bathing their kids or themselves too much | CNN WWW.CNN.COM It looks like the Kutcher-Kunis family is saving money on soap.
  8. Here is a realistic read on inflation in the US. In summary: * Inflation, in general, has been tamed. * There are still a few areas of concern (housing & car insurance costs for example) but overall, the inflation crisis is over. * Wage increases have outpaced inflation. * We have avoided a recession. The war on inflation has been won. It’s OK if you’re still angry | CNN Business WWW.CNN.COM This morning, economists got something they’ve been waiting three years for: an absolute snooze-fest of an inflation report.
  9. I had my 2 x M-Pox vaccines in Michigan back in 2022. I have no plans to do anything further unless experts suggest something more. Hoping this current outbreak in Africa doesn't spread further.
  10. Meanwhile, yet another inflation report released today showing inflation continues to cool to 2.9% as of the end of July. This almost cements the likelihood for a September Fed rate cut.
  11. For the post above...wash, rinse, dry, repeat. Regarding the point of jobs being shed due to automation...why do I keep seeing "Now Hiring" signs on most businesses all around Michigan. Businesses still need workers and can't find them. Eventually, they will have to automate where they can if we don't have enough workers to fill all the job openings.
  12. No way he is 36. Closer to 46 I would say…not that he doesn’t look good. Incredible body.
  13. lots of wages have gone up substantially in the last 4 years. Huge gains in the minimum wage in multiple states. Fast food workers making record wages even without changes in the official minimum wage in some states. Some Burger King restaurants in Michigan are paying $18/hour to flip burgers. They weren't getting paid anything close to that prior to COVID. UAW secured a record pay increase in the recently signed contract.
  14. More inflation news to be released on Wednesday. Here's an interesting take on how consumers are refusing to pay today's higher prices and that is forcing some price decreases. The Free Market at work. Americans' refusal to keep paying higher prices may be dealing a final blow to US inflation spike WWW.YAHOO.COM The great inflation spike of the past three years is nearly spent — and economists credit American consumers for helping slay it. Consumers aren't cutting back enough to...
  15. Within the US, I would say San Diego has the highest percentage of attractive men. Lots of guys are into fitness and the large population of young military guys helps also. All races represented as well...so something for everyone. Plus the climate is the best!!
  16. The key to arriving to Montreal by air on an international flight is to get in during the morning...before the flights from Europe start arriving. Immigration becomes crazy from 12:30 pm till about 6:00pm. I usually take the first flight from Detroit and get into Montreal at 11:30am. Straight through immigration and out the door.
  17. I'm 65 and I consider Grindr a complete waste of time...yet I can't delete it...LOL. From a young person's perspective, I totally get that the vast majority of them have zero interest in anyone over 40/50. I was exactly the same when in my 20's/30's...so I hold no hostility towards them at all. Yes there are exceptions...but they are rare. Back to the main topic. I'm currently in Toronto and I find the incidence in ads on Grindr is substantially higher than when I'm in the US. Every time I go to Grindr, I have to go through games/ads. Its absurd. Still not worth paying for it since it's mostly useless for me.
  18. I visited Cockbar on Sunday night this past weekend. Cover was $5. The bar was not particularly crowded, so they only used the front larger room. The second smaller room was not used at all as far as I could tell. There were only four dancers working...two Latinos and two white guys. The two Latinos were in good shape but one of the white guys had a belly. All the dancers but one were pretty fem which is a complete turn-off for me. I would not describe any of the four as really hot. I had no motivation to do lapdances with any of them so all my money stayed in my pocket. The bartender was very friendly and I enjoyed talking with him. He got a big fat tip. I woudn't pass final judgement on Cockbar until I could visit on a Friday/Saturday. However, I would consider my Sunday visit a bust.
  19. The name alone is enough to put me off from hiring him.
  20. Well the Dow loved today’s inflation report by soaring 654 points. So yes…the crowd did go wild.
  21. Yet another positive inflation report came out today. The market is cheering the news. Whilst the 2% inflation target hasn’t been hit yet, it is getting closer. I now expect rate cuts before the end of the year…maybe in September. Inflation is inching closer toward the Fed’s 2% target | CNN Business WWW.CNN.COM Yet another favorable piece of economic data shows that price hikes are slowing and that...
  22. I liked Lou when he was strictly a business reporter. Then he went nuts and destroyed what could have been a great legacy.
  23. ...and now Burger King is getting in on the spicey offerings. Their new Fiery Menu was launched this month. The menu includes a hot Whopper, hot fries, and (believe it or not) a spicey strawberry Sprite drink. Yuck!!! At least you know in advance what you're getting as the items are advertised as being spicey. Can You Handle The Heat? Burger King® Introduces All-New Fiery Menu NEWS.BK.COM
  24. Interesting read from NBC article. Former prosecutor on the case agrees with dismissal. When the prosecutor agrees with the dismissal there really isn't much else to say. Justice was served in this case. Onto the next. Prosecutor who resigned from Alec Baldwin 'Rust' case says she wanted dismissal WWW.YAHOO.COM A special prosecutor who resigned from the manslaughter case against Alec Baldwin on Friday said she did so because she felt it should have been voluntarily dismissed by the...
