I'm in the same place as you. I do not/will not use they/them to refer to a singular person. It goes against the grain for me. It's just not right. I have nothing against non-binary folks we just need a new pronoun. So for the time being, I will refer to Demi Lovato as "she" cause she looks more female than male to me.

I really dislike Meghan McCain. She has a much higher opinion of herself than she deserves. She kind of reminds me of Megyn Kelly from Fox. I always thought of Megyn Kelly as a very mediocre journalist. Her move to NBC confirmed what I always thought...there's no there there. McCain is the same. I will say I did respect Meghan for openly voicing her distaste for Donald Trump. Kudos to her for being one of the few republicans that had the guts to do that.

He does state #cockworship which for me suggests oral maybe? Anyone else notice he states his weight as 140lbs? That's very skinny isn't it? I like the pic but somehow that doesn't square-up with someone that weighs 140lbs.

Further to my post above, A few more former dancers returned to Stock this weekend. Both Vinny and Fabio made appearances. Additionally Hayden (who previously danced for the ladies at Club 281) danced at Stock on both Wednesday and Saturday. So slowly but surely the former dancers are returning. I guess I'll post any future Stock updates on the Stock Bar thread.

What a fun thread! My first trip was in the summer of 1974. I went to the UK with my mother for 3 or 4 weeks...I had just turned 15 a few weeks before the trip. We were in the UK when Cass Elliott died there and we were still there when Nixon resigned. Even the flight over was exciting for me...a Pan Am 747. I had flown before but never long-haul and never on a 747. I doubt I slept a wink on the entire flight to LHR. We spent time in London and also went to Edinburgh, Wales, and Dublin. I remember the ferry crossing from Wales to Ireland was during a storm and it was very rough! I met cousins on the trip that I continue to see to this day. Just waiting for borders to re-open in order to get back over there. I love traveling to the UK between mid-September and mid-October.

Sure. I have been on three repositioning cruises (BTW, I consider transatlantic cruises to be a subset of "repositioning cruises"): * Houston to Barcelona * Miami to Southampton * San Antonio Chile to San Francisco California I think the shortest of these was 16 days and the longest was 21 days. I also did a 23 day cruise around Asia that started in Singapore and finished in Hong Kong. Strictly speaking, it was not a "repositioning cruise" as it didn't change continents. They can be good value as far as the cruise price goes. However, flight are more complicated as you start the cruise in one continent and finish in another. One-way long haul flights can be expensive so its a good opportunity to tap into frequent flier miles if you have them. The passenger demographic tends to be older on these cruises. There are usually few children on-board (which is a good thing in my book). I find the passenger group to be more interesting and educated than what you find on a standard 7-day cruise. They are generally a well-travelled group. Many nationalities are represented...and I consider that a plus. I have always found there to be plenty of gay people on these cruises although I really don't seek them out specifically. I find the piano bar area and the casino bar fun places to meet people in the evening. I was once propositioned by a male/female British couple in the piano bar to join them for sex in their cabin. I wasn't interested but it was fun being asked! Some people dread sea days but I love them. I don't care for cruises that have a new port stop each day. I find the more relaxed pace of repositioning cruises much more restful. There are plenty of shipboard activities to participate in to keep busy on sea days...and the casino stays open most of the day when at sea.

I've only recently started cruising in the last six years. I use mainstream cruise lines and it works just fine for me. The longer cruises attract a more interesting clientele than the standard 7-day cruises. Transatlantic and repositioning cruises are fun. I enjoy the sea days. Personally, I can't imagine going on a gay cruise...particularly an RSVP-style cruise. The thought of being locked up on a ship for seven days with a bunch of WeHo muscle Marys would make me want to slit my wrists. LOL. I would encourage the OP to consider going on a mainstream cruise and make sure to attend the solo cruiser meetings (and also the LGBT meetings) on-board. It's easy to meet folks and you will find all kinds of ages and body types. You won't feel out of place at all.

Absolutely. Some of hollywood's biggest stars today are Canadian. I saw Ryan Reynolds on a redeye flight from LAX to JFK once. He was two rows in front of me. Anyway, I have an affinity for Canadians as I'm 25% Canadian myself. My maternal grandfather was born in Hamilton. In those days (1910's-1920's), there were lots of good jobs in Detroit. Lot's of Canadians would emigrate to Detroit for the jobs. That's what my grandfather did. Hard to imagine today.

It's funny how, back in the day, it was relatively easy to run into celebs. Seems much less common today...although I have seen them frequently on the LAX-JFK flights...but not for sex. Was your encounter in Canada?

I have to be honest, I don't exactly remember if they were naked or not. I'm thinking not naked though as they would presumably need immediate access to their guns if something were to happen.

My own encounter was not with a big celeb but he was a known TV fixture in the UK nonetheless. I worked for a British company in the 90's and traveled to the UK 5-6 times a year for more than 10 years. My business destination was not in London but I would spend my weekends in London and I would often stay in the Kensington area. There was a gym in the area that several of the area hotels had a discount at so I used to go there. I did workout, but my main interest was cruising in the sauna and steam rooms. It was not a gay establishment...rather a pretty well-equipped gym (for UK gyms in the 90's) serving the Kensington community. One Saturday afternoon, I was floating between the sauna, steam room, and showers of the wet area when this massive bodybuilder appeared and went into the sauna. He was huge. Not common in the UK in those times. I of course followed him into the sauna. There was no-one else around which was a lucky thing. Long story short....I ended up sucking him off in the sauna. It was wonderful as he had a beautiful huge cock and he was so masculine. Only interested in getting head. Interestingly, at the end of it all, he said something along the lines of: "we're both gonna forget this ever happened". I answered "no problem". I thought it was a strange comment given that no-one else saw us. Only he and I knew it had happened and I had no idea who he was. Anyway, his comment intrigued me even more. Beyond that, another celeb story was told to me by others so I was not personally involved but it is interesting nevertheless. In 1979, the touring company of the musical "On the 20th Century" had a six-week stint at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit. The cast included Rock Hudson and Imogene Coca. Those were the days when touring shows still included known stars. Very rare today. The show got lousy reviews and didn't last past subsequent appearances in Chicago and Los Angeles AFAIK. Anyhow, at the time I worked in one of the offices at the new Renaissance Center complex in downtown Detroit. The centerpiece of the complex was the Detroit Plaza Hotel (some 90 stories....now a Marriott). I belonged to the health club facility at the hotel and would go there frequently in the afternoon after work. It seems that Rock Hudson was staying at the hotel during his time in Detroit (I don't know if the entire cast of the show stayed there). Anyway, I was told by several of the other gay guys that frequented the health club that Rock would sometimes appear in the steam room in early/mid afternoon and sometimes "play" around. I never saw him there but when I would get there at 5:00pm, he was probably getting ready to head to the theatre for the 7:30pm curtain time. Interesting tidbit. A quick third story that did not involve sex but just nudity. In 1980, the Republican Party held it's convention in Detroit. Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush stayed at the Detroit Plaza Hotel where I frequented the health club. One afternoon that summer, I opened the shower curtain to exit the health club shower when, to my astonishment, George Herbert Walker Bush was standing in front of me butt-naked with a secret service guy on either side of him. He asked me: "Are you finished?". I answered "Yes I am" and I proceeded into the the changing room. I don't remember anything about him...but I do remember the secret service guys were very hot!! All good fun that I'll remember forever.

I've been watching each night since Tuesday...at least for a little while. Friday was the busiest night as far as number of dancers goes. Most the guys were returning former dancers (Jay, Pauly, Adrian, Marco, Kyle, Frank, Zach, Ronny) plus a few mostly forgettable new guys. Most of the returning dancers are not in as good of shape as before...which is understandable. Gyms were closed for many months. Alex the bartender is back but the rest of the bartenders I saw seemed new to me. Former dancer Tommy seems to be the new manager. He was there each night but didn't dance. It was hard to tell how busy the bar was as the camera didn't pan around the room whilst I was watching. I'm sure it will take a few weeks for them to get back into the groove. If I was in Canada, I would definitely plan on going.

I agree. The border re-opening will be a slow process. I don't blame Canada for wanting to be cautious. Relative to the US, it handled the COVID situation much better during 2020. With the exception of amping up the development of vaccines, the US management of the pandemic was awful in 2020. Thankfully the person largely responsible for that is no longer in office. I have maintained for months that the re-opening will occur in the July - September timeframe. Do you feel that is too optimistic?

I'm currently at a Marriott in the Detroit area. Pen and paper back on the desk. TV remote not wrapped in plastic. Bible and The Book of Mormon are in their designated spot. Things seem to be getting back to normal. As an aside, the hotel is buzzing with people. I spoke with the restaurant manager at breakfast this morning. She said they have been busy all week and will be through the weekend (she said they have two weddings!). Another Marriott in the area was sold-out yesterday and today which is why I am at this one. It seems business people are back on the road.

Correct. The initial loosening of rules is for fully vaccinated Canadians that travel abroad. They no longer need to quarantine for 14 days upon returning to Canada. As far as opening the US/Canada border to tourists/business visitors going in either direction, nothing meaningful will happen until July or afterward IMHO. We will probably know more on the timing within 7-10 days.

I agree. I'd really be surprised if the border were to re-open to tourist travel this month. I'm still predicting sometime in the July to September timeframe.

Disappointing to hear that SR's is not improving now that things are re-opening. IMHO, SR's was already in serious decline for several years prior to the pandemic. My last visit was in January or February of 2019 I believe. It was a Friday or Saturday. Lot's of dancers but of very average quality. There was one hot dancer there but he was so stoned he was passed out on one of the sofas in the VIP area. I vowed not to return to SR's until hearing things had improved substantially. It sounds like that hasn't happened yet. Too bad. For me, rule number 1 in having a successful strip club is you have to have quality talent. None of the rest of it matters if you cannot attract the most attractive guys. I wonder why BJ Roosters can do it but SR's can't?

I don't think anyone said what you quoted so the legitimacy of your whole thought process falls apart. But let's pretend someone made the exact statement you quoted. How do you go from that to claiming the person is exhibiting self-loathing? That is a huge leap IMHO. People have opinions. You can agree or not. That is fine. I personally believe most gay men are less masculine than straight guys. It is my opinion and I believe it to be true. You can agree or not. I really don't care. You are allowed to believe what you choose.
