I keep a healthy stable of professional providers who deliver on their promises and advertisement. I've also had my fair share of those who try to pull the Tuna Hustle. Regardless, I always pay. People are never robots. I need to do certain things to maintain my level of work performance or risk getting fired. I eat well, exercise, get sufficient rest, etc. and drink coffee when I need a lift. We expect the same from you. Preparation drives performance... if you're not doing the preparation to perform then you're less than a professional and probably in the wrong profession.

I think that I've located the disconnect... too many providers allow their alter egos to write their ninja-fueled RM profiles then, as a mere mortal, they go on the appointment with their good intentions, time spent and hand out. As a potential example, are you Keroscenefire or just Bob?

I couldn't agree more...

For those of you who can't hear and feel the purity of this young man's experience, please raise your hands and let the rest of us know who you are so we can avoid choosing you in the future.
-
Thank you for the color, your honesty and for, without prejudice, let people know that all you wanted was to be treated fairly. I wish you the best with your future choices.

What were you like as just a Lurker? Rhetorical, of course.

Let's not hide behind the legal convenience that we're paying for 'time spent' as if it hasn't been detailed in the RM profile and further clarified by messaging/voice, etc. If the agreement is an active top, be prepared to perform or take an enhancer. If you agreed to kiss, then do it. Date your photos, and so on. In my experience when the performance wasn't what was agreed to, 'the professional' inevitably points to the time-spent clause as their reason for expecting to be paid in full. The OP didn't mention if payment was required prior to time-spent. If so, there is no negotiation. If you haven't, it would be foolish not to evaluate the potential actions of the unpaid provider. I can afford my choices, so I pay them. Give them a negative review? Where? The providers are advertising text-only, preventing RM from being able to verify there was communication and therefore no review. I spent time with a beloved and well reviewed provider a couple of times before setting up an appointment at my home. I carefully worded the 'problem' that ensued at my house on this site. Not long afterwards, my post disappeared. The provider looked me up and sent a goon to my office. They didn't anticipate our security protocols. This hobby has produced some amazing experiences over the years. Things, however, are changing... the experiences are 50/50 and the scales of satisfaction are tipped toward the provider.

I saw him about a year ago... hot and sexy. He looks like a Young Keanu Reeves Go for it.

Well, then, I apologize to both of them. And, Benny, this is the time to let the flying monkeys do their work while you lay low. But I get it. -

Thanks for your thoughtful response and I agree that walking away is an option AND can be setup in a way to mitigate confrontation. My post, however, was looking for a way to incentivize escorts to represent themselves a little more honestly. The responses turned that 'concept' around, making it my responsibility to turn misrepresented escorts away unpaid. I was hoping that a little more pressure would be placed on the escort to be more accurate/truthful. Seemingly, they don't have accountability beyond clients walking away. My solution seemed more efficient for all parties. Are escorts professionals? Has that been debated? I already know the answer... too few. -
@Oliver... I think that resentment is independent of age. I believe that every age group can make a case for their resentment. For me, age draws into question a) compliance to protocols and b) ability fo control their resentment responsibly.

Months ago, educating myself on historical pandemics helped me accept the realities of C19. I worked thru my dismay that I'd have to live thru one in my lifetime... then accepted it as one more thing not within my control. Next, I adopted all of the responsible protocols, etc. NEXT, I stopped reading and/or listening to any and all news (that was 4 months ago.). I limited talking to those around me who insisted on perseverating on C19 and world politics. I have a few physician friends who update me here and there. While a bit simplistic... this lifestyle has allowed my mind to focus and develop new habits and interests. Really good things have emerged. Every once in a while I get anxious about knowing NOTHING, that I dip my toe into a news source. That lasts for less than 5 minutes every time. For now, my plan is to reevaluate things on November 3rd.

Interesting... but I'm thinking that my co-op board may frown on that sort of activity. Don't you hate when zip codes get in the way of yelling at a trick/provider thru a peep hole?? This is beginning to sound like one of those games mentioned earlier. -

I can excuse Dr. Freud, but your response is regrettably flip. You’re well-liked and respected on this forum but I’m prepared to hear from your flying monkeys for commenting on just-you. You make it sound easy to ask an unpaid provider to leave because of his misleading photos. What if they don’t/won’t go? In general, clients avoid ‘trouble’ when taking the risk of hiring. You guessed it, those of us who can’t risk retribution pay them to leave. Offering an incentive to promote some level of integrity from providers is a game? That’s a little smug. Every business runs into a tipping point… I’m suggesting that there are enough clients out here who are tiring of providers whose alter egos are the authors of their profiles and selecting their photos. You can’t be an active top if you can’t get it up… don’t party-up and then show up at my door… if you want paid up front, have the balls to put that requirement in your profile. Yet again, we pay them to leave (even the well-reviewed ones.) It’s not just you… your status on this forum comes with some level of responsibility to promote integrity within your profession. In my opinion, anyhow. -
Scenario: A new client contacts you and states that his paying rate is $250 but willing to tip to $300 if you lived up to your posted photos and RM description... payment at the end. Would you take that deal?

I can only offer encouragement... go for it!

Dual thread: professional pics and lowered rates?
+ MakeMeCowboy replied to TallMuscl37's topic in Questions About Hiring
I'm skeptical of professional photos i.e. 'how old are they?' I prefer a more candid photo. In my mind, they are more likely to be recent (albeit, I still ask.) I've decided to take a new approach to hiring... I'll contact the provider and let him know that I'm willing to pay $250/hr. and tip up to $300 if he lives up to his description of services in RM. I'd also mention that I pay at the end of the session. I'll lay out my terms and see how it goes. -
Ugg...the whole arrangement is fantasyland.... give me a great actor worthy of an academy award and I'm happy. He's happy upon payment. Win/Win.

Perhaps poorly presented... the core of my question was the clock watching along with wondering how others handled hospitality. From the beginning nothing ran 'to the hour' with this guy, so he makes these calculations of time spent. It's humorous. Regardless, he's adorable and well compensated. Lost? OK, but super lost?? Accept my apologies.
-
I've enjoyed everyone's perspective... thank you. And I agree... I contracted for his time which includes the hospitality. In fact, he's been back several times and I always seem to have his favorite red on-hand. Go figure.
-
Not too long ago I scheduled a provider at my home. Knock, knock, he comes in and I ask 'May I get you something to drink?' He lands on red wine... I invite him to take a seat while I opened the wine. My reds run $50+ a bottle. A discussion of the wine and reds, in general, ensued. This transition took 20 minutes. We had our time together which took the hour or so... at checkout time, the fee was calculated from the knock, knock. I chuckled to myself as he poured a bit more wine 'for the road,' paid him and off he went. Was I penalized for hospitality? How do most clients handle the transition from the knock, knock to the bedroom? Do you anticipate hospitality? P.S. I liked the guy, he delivered in full but the precision of the clock-watching was a bit disappointing.
-
The world is in transition and my small business is taking its share of a financial hit. When I start hiring again, I'll no longer ask for the provider's rate. I'll communicate that my paying rate is $250 and willing to tip up to $300. I have no problem paying the $300 when the provider lives up to his advertisement that enticed me to contact him. I will also confirm that payment will be made after the service has been rendered. In the past, when I've paid the premium asked by some providers ($500 was the highest,) the majority of it was for ego... not skill and/or overall experience. Those days are over.

For those providers who want payment upfront... state it in your ad. -
