BrickBuilder reacted to + BOZO T CLOWN in *EastVillageTwunk - NYC
When Bozo goes shopping for a used car, he doesn't bring his friend who will only tell him what a wonderful vehicle it is. He brings the friend who will point out the nicks, scratches, and dents that were not obvious at first glance.
If you don't want fellow members to share their opinions, then skip the post or use your IGNORE button. But please stop playing hall monitor. Stop confusing honesty with rudeness.
Circling back to the topic, Bozo thinks EastVillageTwunk has a lean, sexy, muscular body. Nevertheless Bozo very much appreciates reading what @Callas and others have to say.

There is a HUGE difference between discussing actual flaws and performance/personality issues that come from actually meeting -- and comments that are simply based on personally not liking a provider's looks or aesthetic qualities.
If you don't like the way someone looks (and particularly before you make a comment that as phrased implies your aesthetic judgement is the only possible correct aesthetic judgement) realize someone else might actually like that quality.

BrickBuilder reacted to Ali Gator in Providers asking for a client's professional services
I don't think this has ever come up before, and this happened to me again this morning, so I'm going to share this here as I'm sure others have had experiences similar to this. I'm curious how it was handled (to give me better insight going forward.)
In the past, when I have had repeated appointments with masseurs, we get to know each other better through conversation. Many times the question of my profession comes up, and I share what I do (but not where I work / the company I work for). Just usually a generalization of what my job entails (when asked). Because of my job skills, I have had a side business on weekends since the pandemic, which includes 'resume writing' for people who need help writing their resumes or 'updating', etc. I've mentioned this to providers from time to time, so that if they ever need this - they can consider hiring me. I don't go into detail on pricing, because we're never that far into the conversation. They just answer "ok - good to know".
Early this morning, one of these masseurs (whom I do like, and we get along fine) who I haven't seen in months (he's been mostly traveling since the new year), called me and asked if I was free this afternoon. He's in his mid-30s, and now interested in applying for an entry-level job at the company where his brother-in-law works (a very good company) . He needs help writing a resume, as he never wrote one before. He has a Zoom interview tomorrow afternoon, and he needs to have the resume sent in by noon tomorrow.
I gave him a time I'd be available for him to stop by my house today, so I can write a resume for him. I then told him it would take an hour at least, gave him my rate for the service (which is the going rate in my area these days), and if we need more than an hour to finish, what the rate would be (for 90 minutes and two hours; all in line with my competitors). It just so happens the rates equal what he charges for massage, so I told him he could either pay up front, or we can work it out in 'trade' - he can give me a massage of equal value when we're done with the resume.
His response was: "Can't you do it for free for me ? We're friends." That really threw me. I ignored his request.
I told him my rate again, so how does he want to proceed if he's serious about this - with payment or trade of services tonight? He then said he'd do the massage at $25 off - so he'd charge me $175. He thought that was fair. I asked, "So you think my service to help you is worth only $25 ?" He apparently thought so. I suggested he find someone else today who will make time to write a resume for him at $25 for the hour. (That would be no one, as we all know our worth in this industry). That was the end of our phone conversation.
A few hours later he calls back and I let it go to VM. He raises his offer to $150 for the massage if I will write the resume for him. He tells me it's a real good deal. I don't bother answering him. Since then, he's texted / left VM every half hour or so, wanting me to take the deal. Even if he agrees to a 'trade' at the $200 (my original offer), at this point I'm just no longer interested in doing any business with him. Keep in mind, in all the years I've hired him I have never asked him for any type of discount (and he has raised his price over the past five years).
Has this ever happened to anyone else where a provider wants to hire the client for their professional services ? How did you handle it ? How did it turn out ?

BrickBuilder reacted to Ali Gator in The Mean Girl Dynamic on Company of Men
About a year ago, I responded to a thread here on the forum. It was a 'general topic' (not about a provider or a review) and I had shared my experience concerning the subject matter. Nothing controversial, just my experience. (I believe the thread was about a chain retailer).
Anyhow, someone I never engaged with before decided to quote me, and rip me up one side and tear me down the other because my experience was opposite his. So be it. I didn't respond or defend myself, I just continued on here, enjoying the forum.
Within days, I got PMs from other members here (again, members I had not engaged with previously) giving me the heads up on this guy, letting me know he was 'trouble' and not to be bothered by him. Apparently, these other guys had dealings with him in the past. I thanked each one for their message of concern, and let them all know I wasn't bothered by him at all. But with the info they all shared as a community, I made the decision to skip over all his posts on this thread every time I see his distinctive avatar - no interest in him or his thoughts.
What's funny is he's PMd me on a couple of things in the past year, and I could tell he was itching for an argument. But again, I had no interest in what he said, and never replied.

I haven’t had negative experiences with three out of the five you mentioned, possibly because they gave me blocked. But IMHO Pubic Assistance is the Regina George of the group.
I simply see no reason to degrade providers or our fellow members. Isn’t there enough awful in the world for queer people and sed workers without us dragging each other down?
There’s a way to give critical feedback about a provider without dehumanizing them or being mean spirited. If you follow my comments you may realize I do not often find the providers the majority of you do appealing. But I do not comment on those posts because you don’t need me to yuck your yum.

Congratulations on the catharsis…which I read about two sentences of. Maybe the problem isn’t the provider when everyone has a consistently good experience but you.
Sorry for the brevity, but it was cathartic to remove southern gentility and swap it for Delaware Directness
But please don’t be surprised if your unwillingness to share your experience specifics winds up reflecting on you more than them.

Because this is a forum about conversation and i felt like responding to your comment? What a nasty response when I just responded to you saying you don’t understand why fat people idolize fit people. Not sure what this accusation is but it’s completely unfounded and is yet another reason why you guys have ran off most of the escorting crowd from this forum. Yikes dude.

BrickBuilder reacted to Archangel in Anyone Interested For $1000/Hour?
That’s an interesting observation. Charge more up front knowing a rehiring is unlikely?
And everyone – of course a guy is free to charge whatever he wants. Why do so many here feel the need to say that? I’m not calling anyone out in particular, but it’s a frequent refrain. The point isn’t if he can charge that much; the point is if you would pay that much. I didn’t comment on if Michael Boston should charge that much; but I can confidently say, “no, I will not pay that much.” The comment about him being a porn star simply was another factor added to the mix that would disincentivize me to hire him. And now thinking perhaps charging that much is a way to make up for infrequent return clients makes me consider even more that it’s a no-go. But to reiterate – I think 99.5% of us here accept and understand that guys can charge whatever they want. That’s not at issue.

Being a porn star, also disinclines me to hire him.

In every scenario, clients can move on or not. Why is this thread 4 pages?
-
BrickBuilder reacted to Ali Gator in Providers requiring Client photo to meet!?
Exactly my point. And once again, I'll reiterate - we, the consumers, have allowed this to happen over the past 40 years. We have allowed them to monopolize, we have allowed them to mistreat and take advantage of us, and most importantly - we have normalized this 'customer service' behavior. Now we suffer the consequences.

Also you asked a question and then said your not going to discuss anymore… make it makes sense

Look, I’m not going to debate it anymore. It’s disingenuous to say an escort provides accompaniment and nothing more. Tell that to the vice squad when apprehended—if it ever actually happens. Any reasonable person understands what transpires between an escort and client.
A guy who doesn’t provide services directed at pleasing the client but is looking to get paid for something he could get for free through hookup apps and other gay social settings isn’t an escort. You can tell me I’m wrong. I’m sure there are plenty here who agree with you. There may be a few who agree with me. Telling me I’m wrong and saying it’s so because you happen to be an escort doesn’t make me wrong.
I’m not interested in picking a fight or having an argument. I’ve said my piece on that and that’s that. Let the applause begin because I’m shutting up.

I Agree. Instead of "bottom", consider "passive" or "receiver". Bottom implies bottom of the barrel or bottom of the list, inferior to those at the top of the list. No chick wants to be with a guy at the bottom!
In Mexico and Spain, the common descriptor is "Passivo"

Hey, thanks for bringing this up! I've only blocked 1 client after meeting so I'm assuming that's you... and the reason being you threatened to harm yourself if I didn't come over FOR FREE because you didn't currently have the funds. I responded that this kind of behavior wouldn't be tolerated and proceeded to block you. Hope that clears up any confusion!
Also, I'm 37yo for those asking, and I've never been concerned about hiding my age. I continue to take care good care of myself and am proud of the life experience I have thus far!
I wish you well.

He says 35....which usually means 42. I am assuming some of the photos are from when he was 32. Nice looking man (or at least..used to be ). But even in his selections of photos you can see they spread over several time periods.
