Of the pictures here were a direct poltical connection can be made, 37 support Republican ideas, 11 support Democrat ideas, 2 are Independents and there is one other. This backs up polling in the UK during our recent election where it was found that whilst most right wing voters were bigger than average (5ft 11 or taller and weighing more than 190lbs), another poll suggested that it was because right wing candidates were seen are "as or more muscular" than the man being interviewed.
On a side note, Carl Cashman, is the Liberal Democrat city councillor for the Church ward on Liverpool Council and was elected to the council in the 2023 local elections with 56% of the vote (ahead of Labour on 34%, the Greens on 10% and the Conservatives on 1%) and will next up for election in 2027

I remember reading somewhere that Gary Cooper was very coy about his age, so when one reporter telegraphed "How old Gary Cooper?", he replied "Old Gary Cooper fine, how you?"

This event has been reported on extensively in the United Kingdom, mainly because it was the British version of the X Factor where he rose to fame, however some of the reporting has been downright terrible, from the Sun's WAS LIAM PUSHED? to the Weekend Sport reporting Liam Payne was today found dead at an hotel in Argentina after a weekend of alcohol fueled orgies...pictures inside

During this recent general election in the United Kingdom, I experienced it during election night when I was told that the new Labour MP for Cambridgeshire North West (who won with a majority of 39) was born in 2002 (the year that I started getting interested in local elections)

Welshman got a reaction from cany10011 in What are You Reading?
I've been too busy writing books to actually read them myself. Ever since I discovered that the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise was essentially an adult version of the Twilight franchise, I have been writing a series of books based on the tales of the Musketeers, featuring Henry Cardigan, who we join in 1624 as the son of the newly enobled Lord Cardigan who takes up a position in the House of Commoners at the start of King Charles I's reign.
So far there are four books encompassed by the title "The Adventures of Henry Cardigan" which have the following volumes: 1) The English Musketeer, 2) The Titanic Musketeer, 3) The Global Musketeer, 4) The Ultimate Musketeer and the Iron Mask with to follow 5) The Olympian Musketeer, 6) The Cavalier Musketeer and then finally 7) The Phantom Musketeer
I am also going to do some short stories at the same tine covering topics such as the Dutch tulip market of the 1630's (where he simply buys a tulip, just because he likes it and within months is beseiged by people wanting to buy the bulbs it produces) to when he finds himself stranded in 2050 due to a course deciding to take Porthos's assessment of him being strong and testing it in combination bodybuilding / powerlifting contest.
Here's a progress of him from a cadet in 1625, a Musketeer in 1628 and as the Ultimate Musketeer in 1635 and when he is asked to attend a ball as the Ultimate Musketeer in 1644

As with most gameshows that started out in the United States, the United Kingdom thought "We'll have that" and over the course of some 40 or so years, the BBC, ITV, and even regional channels produced their own versions such as this version from 1986 broadcast across the ITV network by Thames, with the special mystery guest being the British wrestler "Giant Haystacks" who at the time of recording was 7ft tall and 728lbs

I was a caregiver for my grandparents from 2005 to 2021, and that included during the pandemic, during that period of time, I was told by the council's social care service that if either of my grandparents slipped, I was to leave them where they slipped, phone for a paramedic using the 999 service in the UK (our version of 911) and wait.
On one occasion, between the time of the slippage and the arrival of the paramedics, two care visits happened (to which they said "We cannot do anything, we are not trained for this event") and when the paramedics did arrive, it was 8½ hours later

    Gentlemen, Your help is needed.
The moderators have been  receiving a record number of reports. We have many new members joining us each day. Most join to participate in our discussions but, unfortunately, a few are here just to cause trouble.
We are doing our best to ban members who join just so they can personally attack others and use racial slurs as a description. This morning I woke up to a verbal and offensive attack on us from a recently banned member.
The Moderators appreciate members who see these types of posts and report them. Please continue to keep this a safe site where all members can post freely and not be personally attacked for doing so.
    Thanks! 🙏

Welshman got a reaction from + Charlie in A few British Museum treasures
The Elgin Marbles have been cited in recent debates about whether items held in British museums should be sent back to their own nations. Indeed the Welsh Government has stated that it believes 90% of the items held in museums in Wales do not belong in Wales.
There is a touring exhibition of items from the British Museum collected in the 17th century by Sir Hans Sloane, however due to the Welsh Governments "Anti Racial Wales" policy instituted in 2020, every time it is exhibited in Wales every piece has a counter exhibition called "We were here first" which is a collection of "art that demonstrates we were always here" from artists representing "the global majority" as a protest against the collection

My personal assistant is trying to convince me that the addition of onion and / or garlic to a meal is a perfectly natural thing to happen, despite me telling him that spiced tomato crisps make my mouth feel warm, therefore all these TV cooks doing it as well get on my wick!
