  1. I've said this before in reply to other questions, and it has always worked in all aspects of life: honestly, politeness, and respect. If you're getting a massage and you don't want it to go further, just say so: politely and respectfully.
  2. I don't usually tip masseurs on incalls or outcalls, but PLEASE remember that the boys at spas get only a fraction of our hourly fee of about $60, so a tip is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY -- IN CASH! On a $60 massage, I routinely tip $40-$60, and I don't consider that overly generous, merely appropriate.
  3. I've never been to Pasha, but a friend has, and recommends him highly. I read The Spa every day, and I see Pasha recommended again and again and again. Seems to me that he's your guy.
  4. I saw him about ten years ago. I remember him as a very nice, serious guy, gave a good massage. Not particularly sensual. EVdude, is this guy who's into fisting and escorting really the same guy? Are you sure??? Evil twin, perhaps?? Glad to hear that Redwine56 had such a good time. (West Village, not East, if it's Leroy St & 7th Ave. You must have had such a great massage that you temporarily forgot east from west!) Nice to know that he's still going strong, and pleasing his clients.
  5. That's why it's called 4-handed. The client must be at least 12 inches.
  6. "Musicals Tonight" was called "the poor man's Encores" by Ben Brantley some time ago. They do bare-bones, but highly professional, revivals of musicals. They've been doing 4 a year since 1998. Yesterday I saw "The Boys From Syracuse" (1938), probably my favorite Rodgers & Hart show, along with "Pal Joey." FANTASTIC score! Although the book is by George Abbott, and it's based on "Comedy of Errors," the farcical story is insipid, but the musical numbers are first-rate. They are performed at The Acorn on West 42nd st. Check it out. I think they're at musicalstonight.com
  7. If this is the Thai masseur who used to advertise as Jess, these photos aren't even close to that guy. Jess is probably around 50 by now. If you go back to the other posts and threads here, there are some unfavorable comments about his veracity -- if this is the same guy.
  8. There are masseurs who advertise solo massages, but are willing and eager to do 4-handed also. I suggest that you contact Arjun, who advertises on M4M, and probably on Masseurfinder, and ask him if he has a partner. He did a 4-handed massage for me with a partner who I suggested to him. It was an excellent experience! Unfortunately, the partner is no longer in NYC.
  9. I suppose it's possible, but it's very difficult for me to imagine a sensual massage while I'm draped. I guess there's only one way to find out (and he's only a few blocks from my apt), but I'm dubious. Care to offer some convincing or persuasive words?
  10. If you live in Philadelphia, this is the YEAR OF THE EAGLES!
  11. This is not an isolated problem. The older theaters in NY -- and obviously, in other cities -- have terrible sight lines. I was at the renovated City Center last Saturday, and it was a pleasure. The orchestra seats were exactly where they should be. If I had your problem with this huge person in front of me, I would have asked the usher for a different seat -- if possible. For what you paid, you are entitled to an unobstructed view. Failing that, I would have asked the manager for a refund -- and I wouldn't be too confident of obtaining one. Many movie theaters have tiered seating -- God bless them!
  12. If you have any interest in the Japanese-American internment of 1942-45, or if you just want to see good theater, I recommend "No-No Boy," at the Studio Theater on the 4th floor of Theater Row on West 42nd St in NYC (The Clurman, The Beckett, etc.) This play, based on the 1956 novel, is being performed by ten excellent actors of the Pan-Asian Rep, and it runs through Sunday, Feb. 18. It's done on a bare stage, with just some tables and chairs, but scenery really isn't necessary for this examination of Japanese-Americans in 1946, returning to their homes in Seattle. The characters have had different experiences, ranging from serving in Europe to being incarcerated for replying "No" to questions about their loyalty to the United States and their willingness to serve in the military. (Hence the derogatory epithet, "No-No boy."
  13. I saw "Encores" on Saturday afternoon, and loved every minute of it. I think the review in the NY Times was totally nuts. Some of these critics must decide to find faults before they enter the theater. I usually don't go to "Encores," because it's almost impossible to get a good seat, as the subscribers have taken all of them. I bought a PERFECT seat (10th row center!) about a month ago at the box office. Yesterday I was chatting with the man next to me, who told me he and his friend have subscriptions, and his friend had to be out of town yesterday, so he turned his ticket in for resale -- and I was the lucky one! I stayed for the panel discussion after the show, and learned that "Gypsy" is considered to have the best overture of any Broadway musical, hands down. Did not know that!
  14. Unless I were at a hotel spa, I wouldn't dream of leaving a stitch of clothing on. As stated above, that would send a very weird message. Sometimes a masseur will cover me with a blanket for a few minutes, but that's usually to insure that I'm not cold. If the blanket doesn't come off in a few minutes, I tell him that it's OK to remove it now. Yes, the only question about when underwear should come off is about his, not mine. (Unless it's in Mandarin!)
  15. I have been getting massages for a long time, and I always pay at the end. I either hand the money to the masseur, or leave it in plain sight on the table or bed. I've NEVER encountered a masseur who expects to be paid up front. The only spa I frequent is Utopia, where payment at the desk (and cash tip to the masseur) are given after the massage.
  16. Glad it worked out for you! I think we'd all love to hear more!
  17. Yes, please share the details. Names aren't necessary. This sounds like an attractive offer, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to hear how it played out.
  18. All I can say is that I am THOROUGHLY confused!!!!
  19. I saw "Farinelli and the King" today and loved it. It's a marvelous piece of theater, brilliantly acted and staged. I can understand the negative comments about Act Two, in the second review posted here, but I would never even suggest that one not see the play because of its shortcomings -- which didn't affect my enjoyment of the play. I have a friend who didn't like it because "it was a dozen good actors in search of a decent play." Nonsense! If he was expecting Arthur Miller, he should have stayed home. I think that anyone interested in good theater should see this.
  20. This does not belong in The Lounge. There's a section for escorts.
  21. New York has lots of acronyms, some clever, most utilitarian. LES is Lower East Side, UES is Upper East Side. SOHO, probably the best known, is South of Houston. My favorite (remember the Disney movie?) is DUMBO: Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. I've learned that WEHO is West Hollywood. As Yogi Berra said, "You can see a lot by just watching." (Or something like that.)
  22. It's now 11 pm on Saturday night in New York, and I have JUST returned from seeing Jonathan Groff at the 92nd Street Y. OMG!!! He was FABULOUS!!! "Mack the Knife" closed the first act, and it alone was worth the price of admission. Tonight was the opening performance. I hope that many of you are fortunate enough to have tickets for tomorrow's and Monday's performances. I've had a subscription to "Lyrics and Lyricists" for many years, and I don't recall seeing anything better than this.
  23. There is a post on the next page, "411 on Big Black Muscles in NYC." You might start there. Or start looking in Masseurfinder or M4M. Of course, you should go with a recommendation here, and you're right to ask here.
  24. I'm having a hard time reconciling that FABULOUS review on the blog with the posters here to said to skip him, that he w as "douchey," "gross," etc. Mileage has certainly varied with Adam!
